Sydney woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. It is already 6:30 in the morning. She prepared her breakfast and took a quick shower. She wore her casual school outfit since it's Wednesday. It's denim pants and her organization polo shirt. She tied her long ash gray hair in a pony tail style. She didn't like wearing a lot of makeup, so she only uses lip gloss because her lips are already pinkish.
As she is heading out of her apartment her phone suddenly rang. She looks at the screen and smile it is her best friend Mia. She locks her apartment and head to the elevator.
"Goodmorning Mia! I'm on my way to the university campus." Sydney greeted cheerfully while entering the elevator.
"As usual you are always early, even if our class is 8:30, don't tell me you still want to review for the exam? We already know that you will get the highest grades Sydney, don't be so tense" Mia jokingly talk to her over the phone.
"You can't blame me for being tense, this is our last exam and I need to get one of the highest awards to land a good job, so I can help my parents." Sydney explains while driving.
Mia can't help but be proud of her best friend Sydney, they know each other since highschool and went to the same school in college. Her best friend is really hardworking and kind at the same time. The two of them were in contrast when it comes to studying.
Sydney likes to read books and also good in numbers. She always joins academic contests and won several times. Her determination to help her family is what motivates her. That's what always Sydney tells her.
"Ok, ok miss nerdy I'll hang up and see you on campus " Mia said in resignation, she knows Sydney will be in the library If their class hasn't started yet.
Sydney hang up on Mia , she arrived at the campus exactly 8am. She still has 30mins to review on the library . She park her car on the intended parking lot for student and headed to the library.
It's the last semester and she is graduating from college. She never thought she would be able to make it on college because of her family's financial status. The apartment where she's staying is own by her auntie and the car is owned by her cousin named Marcus who is on the states and let her used it while he is studying abroad.
Although she knows her capability, this final exam will determine her academic status and award. She aim for the highest award because she wants to land a good job and a good position. She's been reviewing for another two days and praying she will get the award that she wanted.
She looks at her watch and realizes it's almost time for the exam. She stood up, put her books on her bag and went out of the library. As she's walking through the corridor, Bryan, one of her classmate greeted her and wished her good luck on the exams. She nodded and smiles on him as they both entered the examination room. Soon after she sat down on her chair, Mia came rushing to the classroom and sit beside her. The professor has arrived and started hand them one by one their examination papers.
After the first 3 subjects its time for lunch. Sydney and Mia went to the campus canteen and buy foods. They sat down on the table.
"How was the first 3 exams? " Mia asked Sydney in between chewing her food. She already knows it was easy for her best friend, but she couldn't think of any question, Her best friend is usually quiet when there is an exam or competition. So she cannot nag at her today.
"Manageable " Sydney looked at Mia and aswered before she want back to finishing her food.
The word "Manageable" is her best friend's favorite word which could possibly mean that the test is just easy for her. Despite her best friend being nerdy and always focus on studying Sydney still manage to take care of her health. She doesn't seem to work out everyday but her physical aspects is also outstanding. " How could someone be just as perfect as her best friend Sydney, she has everything that any women would dream of except that her best friend is not rich." Mia silently thought.
They go back to classroom and finishes 4 exams on the other half of the day.
Sydney and Mia part ways at the campus gate. She had a long day, and her brain is tired so she decided to go home already.
She arrived at her apartment at 6:30 pm. She went to her room and changed her clothes after that she looked at the refrigerator to see what she can have for dinner and settled on noodles plus fried rice.
Sydney decided to call her parents after she finished eating and washes the dishes.
"Hi sweetheart how was your exam? I'm sure you did great." her mother excitedly said.
"It went well Mom tomorrow is the result, how about you and dad? How is your work there in the mansion?" Sydney asked, a hint of concern in her voice is evident. Both her mother and father works in a wealthy mansion.
Her father as a butler and her mother as caretaker of the house.
"Don't worry about us, your father and I are in good condition, we are excited on your graduation, we are very proud of you Sydney."hearing this words from her mother makes her feel a lot of emotions. They worked hard so that she can study in a prestigious academy.
"I have to go Mom ! Tell Dad that I missed him so much "
She walks and enters her room as she bid a goodbye to her Mom. Tomorrow is the result that she's been waiting for. So many plans are entering her mind after she graduated from college. She falls asleep at those thoughts.
The next morning she didn't have to go to school early as the results will be posted on the University campus Forum. A message pop up on her social media account. Her classmates wish her the best of luck. And she thanked them with happy emoji.
Finally the result came out at 3 pm. Sydney open the forum and the result is revealed.

She blinked her eyes quite a few times before looking at the result again. She received the highest award! A tear fell from her eyes without her noticing right away. All her hard worked paid off and she can finally help her parents. She wiped her tears and read on the forum the necessary arrangements on their graduation.
"Congratulations Bestfriend ! You're the best! " Mia exclaimed on there Group Chat

And many more greetings from her classmates and friends on the University.
The next morning she goes to School to attend graduation practices and submit her speech to her professor to be checked. There is only one week of preparation so she informed her parents about the good news.
Her parents are beyond proud and happy that finally she will be graduating as a top student. They arranged their leave from work and plan to attend their daughter's graduation.
Days passed by so quickly. She is well prepared for the event tomorrow.
The day before their graduation, Sydney and Mia decided to go to the mall to buy dress that they could wear for their big day tomorrow. They arrived at the mall and Mia quickly goes to the boutique that sells expensive dresses while Sydney just followed her inside the store.
She saw all the beautiful dresses And look at the price tags.
"Isn't this too expensive for just a dress?" Sydney suddenly whispered to Mia whose also busy checking out at some dresses.
Mia look at her friend, frowned and said " Oh come on Sydney , its not every day that you will buy an expensive dress. I know you look beautiful whatever brand you wear but this time it's for our graduation so be reasonable. "
She smiled at Mia's complement and realize that it just make sense to buy something for herself even if it's expensive because the event tomorrow is very important.
" Fine I guess it doesn't hurt that much to buy atleast one dress " Sydney agreeing to what Mia said.
She went on looking on the dresses that were displayed. As she turned on her left , her eyes were fixated on the red dress that the mannequin wore. She asked the sales lady that she will try it on. The saleslady quickly undressed the mannequin and guide her on the room where she can try it.
She look at the mirror in the fitting room , she doesn't know much about what the dress style is but the saleslady told her that it is an off shoulder ruched layered ruffles bodycon dress. The dress fits her perfectly! It is as if it's made for her. It's a little above the knee considering her height is already 5'7 , the color accentuates her curves in all the right places. She sigh in relief and decided to purchase the dress. She decided not to show how it fit her yet to Mia. She wants to surprise her.
It's almost 4pm when they decided to go home. She called her parents and ask them where they should meet tomorrow and discuss some other details of her graduation. She then decided to make an arrangement at a restaurant for her and her parents to celebrate after the event tomorrow. She fell asleep early after eating and taking a bath.
She woke up early and went to Mia's house because they both agreed that their makeup and other preparations will be at her bestfriend's residence. She quickly prepared her things, got to her car and drove on to her bestfriend's house.
Mia came from a rich family and never had to worry about her finances. Seeing their house, it has a touch of modern and minimalist type of style. She arrived at her best friend's house and was greeted by the butler and takes her to where Mia is.
The makeup artist and the stylist are already there.
She greeted her best friend and the make up and hair stylist started their work. The stylist who were assigned to Sydney, can't help but admire her beauty.
After their makeup was done , the finally wear their dresses and went to the university.
"You look stunning Sydney! red really suits you well, you look like a Goddes in disguise!" Mia complemented her happily
"You look amazing too thats why we are best friend because we are both beautiful" Sydney returning the compliment to Mia. "
They arrived and parked the car on the parking lot. There are already a lot of students
