Chapter 1

My name is Jane marcus.i am the second child of my father.my father is the king of marikun kingdom.i have an elder brother and a younger sister

My mother was just an ordinary citizen of marikun kingdom.the king my father was madly in love with her.she is the true definition of beauty.she had platinum blonde hair and blue eyes.i inherited her beauty

My father was having an affair with my mother.my father has a family queen Felicia who has given birth to a baby boy prince clinton.when she finds out about their affairs she sent some guards to kill my mother.but my mom already knew about it.so she ran to a nearby village.that was how I was raised by my mother alone.

We had a very simple life outside the kingdom not until my mother became very ill.

I was still very young then.i watch my mom everyday dying bit by bit until one day he came,I mean my father the king came to our house.i was very surprised and sad at the same time.without saying goodbye my mom died after telling my dad to take me along with him.

So my dad took me to the palace as his adopted daughter but the queen suspected him.he ordered the maids to take me to one of the rooms in the servant quarters where I will be working as a maid.

I have spent four days here and I feel like running away already. I can't imagine how a the rest of my life will be like.i have an elder brother prince Clinton and a younger sister Victoria who always wanted to come close to me but her mom won't allow her to.unlike Clinton he hates me as if I have offended him before

It's been ten years.and am turning sixteen tomorrow.theres going to be a ball at the palace.i wasn't allowed to all this year's but Paul my father adviser begged him to allow me to attend.with alot of pleading he accepted.

Chapter 2

The day has finally come, the king ordered the maids to dress me up,they tried their best to make me look beautiful but not as beautiful princess Victoria, she is 11 years old, she's not suppose to attend the ball but she insisted on going there

On this day all the princes and the nobble men sons are going to be there to choose a bride, you have to be at least 16yrs just like me to attend the ball

The maids are done dressing me up, although am a beauty on my own even without makeup

"My princess, you look so beautiful"my best friend Lydia said

"Thank you Lydia,do you think am beautiful enough for anyone to see me",I asked with so much expectation from her

"Yes, my princess, you are the most beautiful princess I have ever seen in both body and soul"Lydia replied smiling

"Awwnn, thank you Lydia, now wish me luck"

I wish you the most handsome and chubby princess that will take care of you and adore you"she said while hugging her

"Thank Lydia but not a chubby one please, how I wish you are coming to the ball "I replied smiling

"No, you know I can't come with you because am 15years remember?"

"Yeah I forget,is time for me to go am getting late"Jane said standing up from the chair she is sitting on

I went to the ball room,as soon as I entered everyone became quiet, immediately I become very nervous I was still my thoughts when I heard someone cleared his throat beside me

"Hello beautiful,my name is prince Austin from zilaka kingdom, May I know your name please"
