35 A Nice Day To Smile

Damian took another look at his appearance before finally changing his coat to one with a darker color. He knew that dark hues suited him best.

"This is something I can't change about myself," he mumbled and sighed, taking another look at his reflection before heading to the door to leave his room.

"Your grace, the carriage is ready."

The duke nodded to his aide. "How about the lady? Does she still want to come with me?" He asked, trying not to sound nervous about going out with the lady.

Coton maintained a blank expression on his face. He promised not to get emotionally involved in whatever was going on with the duke and the lady. He would only support him with everything but emotionally. Coton had enough, especially when the new maid came to add thorns to his already thorny path.

"Is she ready yet? I bet all ladies take a longer time getting prepared," Damian continued. He noticed his aide's silence, and he knew he had something in mind.
