Fourth Quest (5)

Whaaack!

Vivian swung her whip on a sunflower monster's head, causing leaves and pollen to burst into the air. She moved to the side and then jumped over another sunflower monster, landing behind it.

Whaaack!

She formed her left hand like a knife and swung it with a chopping motion a few inches below its head, decapitating it.

She looked around if there were other enemies. When she found nothing, she resumed roaming around to search for more enemies.

She glanced at her left hand.

I wonder which skill that chopping motion would fall into…

[Fist] or [Savage]…?

Or perhaps another new skill like [Palm Mastery]…?

Beak!

Vivian stopped in her tracks and turned to where the sound was coming from. When she spotted the Bukaroo, she immediately rushed towards it.

Whaaack!

Beeeaaak!

Thud.

She whacked the bird away and then quickly rushed to where it landed.

Bam!

She threw a fist to the ground, crushing the bird to death.

After extracting the tail, she resumed roaming around to search for enemies.

She glanced at her whip.

I don't know if I should be thankful or not…

I already have 11 (+30) on Strength but I still can't kill that bird with one swing…

It's a bit disheartening to be honest…

Even with those mushrooms…

She grabbed the whip on both ends and bent it.

Well…

The only way I could kill any monster with this whip is if I use a skill…

But it will only quicken this item's destruction…

She recalled that one time when she used [Power Slash] on a stick and it shattered shortly after hitting an enemy.

She let out a sigh.

Vivian noticed 2 Treebarks ahead.

She started walking faster until she finally burst out into a run.

When she got about 10ft away from them, the monsters noticed her and charged.

Vivian leaped and delivered a flying kick.

"SHIT!!!" she cried out in surprise.

"Ouch…!" she moaned in pain as she laid down on the ground and was covered with green fluid, dirt and leaves.

When her flying kick connected, it penetrated into the Treebark's shell and her foot got stuck inside while the momentum continued pushing the monster's body to the ground. However, given that her foot was still stuck inside the monster's body and combined with the momentum of the flying kick, she lost balance, causing her to come crashing to the ground as well, hitting her face and then rolling a couple of feet away before finally crashing against a tree.

Vivian placed her hand on her chest and activated a spell.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped her body and the pain she felt vanished.

She quickly got up and looked for the 2 Treebarks.

The one she flying-kicked earlier was lying on the ground with a big hole on its body and wasn't moving. Meanwhile, the other one was a couple of feet away and rushing towards her.

An idea flashed inside her head. But she quickly shook her head after seeing her right boot covered with green fluid and leaves.

She rushed towards the remaining Treebark and then leaped over it.

When she landed behind it, she grabbed it with both hands and lifted it up in the air.

BRAAAK!

Its body shattered into pieces when it was slammed into the ground.

Vivian untied her hair and fixed it because it was a mess due to the fall she just suffered. Once she was done, she checked her other items in case they were broken or something.

No scratches there…

No tears there…

After confirming there were no problems, she looked around.

"Okay, where is that fucking whip?"

After finding her whip and picking it up, she resumed roaming around in the forest to search for more enemies.

Well…

I guess you can say at least I finally got to use [Heal] on myself under a useful situation…?

But I also have to be careful in using flying kick from now on…

She clicked her tongue.

Vivian stopped and searched for the bird.

When she spotted it, she immediately rushed towards it.

After whacking the bird away with her whip, she quickly rushed to where it landed.

She finished it off with her fist.

She pulled out her kitchen knife to extract the tail.

While she was busy extracting the tail, a fox suddenly jumped on her back.

"Shit!" she cried out as she quickly stood up and tried to pull the fox away.

"AAAHHH!" she cried out as the fox bit the fingers on her right hand, causing her face to twist into a nasty expression. She didn't try to pull her hand away. Instead, she gripped the fox's jaw and squeezed tightly.

Craaack!

Arrrwww!

The fox cried out in pain when its lower jaw got crushed.

It loosened its bite and tried to jump away.

However, Vivian's hand only held tighter, not letting the animal escape.

BAM!

ARRRWWW!

Craaack!

Still grabbing the fox's broken jaw, she swung downwards, slamming the animal to the ground. The force was so great that the fox's body bounced on the ground and the sound of bones breaking came out of its body.

Vivian looked at her fingers that the fox bit.

There was saliva and also blood coming out of the punctured holes on her fingers.

She turned her head away and looked at the fox in front of her.

The fox was lying down on its side and desperately gasping for air.

Vivian gritted her teeth and formed a fist with her injured hand.

Ba-crack!

Ding!

'Unlocked [Savage Mastery] - Level 2!'

Vivian ignored the notification and continued pummeling the fox.

As she was trying to catch her breath, she stared at the fox's body. It was filled with craters formed by her fists. And some of the craters she hit more than once that only skin and meat were left behind. There was also some blood and bones sticking out.

Spit!

She spat on the animal's body before looking around if there were other enemies.

Once she confirmed that there were none, she went to a corner and sat down.

She removed the glove on her injured hand and took out her water pouch around her waist. She then opened the pouch and poured some water on her injured fingers to wash the blood and saliva away.

"Fuck!"

She looked at her injured hand and examined it, doing an open and close motion, causing her face to wince a bit every time she closed it.

Based on her observation, it takes around 2 minutes to recover 1 mana point.

With that, she will need around 22 minutes before her mana reaches 20 points.

She raised her head and looked at the sky.

It was still sunny. And based on her estimation, it was around 3:00 pm.
