91 Sneak-peak....

Hey guys, it's been a while hasn't it, times flew by so quickly, you're all probably been wondering when I would be coming back and safe to say it won't be too long of a wait now.

I can't say an exact date I'll start writing again but it won't be long.

Also, I haven't been slacking these days and forgotten the fanfic, I've actually been writing and sorting out what I want to write and the arcs I want Jayden and the girls to go through.

I've already planned for the next 60 to 80 chapters, which in my notes were around 10,000 words...so yeah I've put in a lot of effort.

I hope you guys enjoy the second half of the story as theirs a lot more packed into it, a whole set of new characters, characters your all hyped to see, characters maybe not so well known, some secrets being revealed and a whole lot of new Raven content and mis adventures.

So for now I'll be giving you this chapter as a little sneak peek for what's to come.

...

Gotham City: Downtown

Jayden knocked on the door of a plain-looking apartment in Gotham. His white hair stood out in the dim light of the hallway.

A friendly smile playing on his lips, anticipating a warm greeting. Instead, the door swung open to reveal Jim Gordon, his face a mix of surprise and mild annoyance.

Before Jayden could utter a word, the door abruptly shut in his face, leaving him blinking in confusion. On the other side, Jim paced back and forth, muttering to himself. "It's happening. She's reaching that age. Okay, Jim, you've got to be stern, you've got to be the intimidating dad now."

Unbeknownst to Jim, Jayden's superhuman hearing caught every word. Suppressing a chuckle, Jayden leaned closer to the door, his curiosity piqued.

Jim took a deep breath, bracing himself, and swung the door open again, trying to muster the most intimidating look he could manage.

"Yeah? What do you want?" he asked, trying to sound tough.

Jayden, trying not to laugh, said, "Hey, I'm Jayden. I'm here to see Barbara. We're friends. Is she in by any chance..."

Jim's tough act melted away. "Oh, right, friends. Got it, and yes she is." He looked a bit embarrassed but stepped aside to let Jayden in.

Location: Barbets - 777 Grantwood Road

The bell above the door of Barbets chimed, signalling a customer.

Jayden looked up from his tools, which he was meticulously cleaning. There, strolling in, was a familiar face he hadn't seen in a while. "Hey Cassandra, long time no see!" he called out, his smile genuine.

The customer, a regular, smiled back and made a beeline for Raven, who was lounging on the counter. The cat, sensing a friend, lazily stretched and purred under her magic strokes.

As Jayden wiped his hands on a towel, his gaze drifted past the regular customer to a figure standing just behind her.

A woman with striking black hair and deep blue eyes, appearing to be around his age. What really caught his eye, though, was the hat she wore – it looked like something out of a magician's wardrobe.

'...is that a magician's hat?' Jayden thought to himself, intrigued.

"Hey there, I don't think we've met. I'm Jayden," he said, extending his hand with a friendly grin, eager to learn more about the new face.

(Location: Barbets)

Jayden was flipping the 'Open' sign to 'Closed' at Barbets when the bell above the door jingled one last time. "Sorry, we're closed for the day," he called out, not looking up.

Before he could react, something—or someone—hit him like a speeding bullet. A whirlwind of energy and excitement, Starfire had arrived. "Jayden!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy.

The impact sent them both tumbling to the floor, with Starfire landing on top of him, beaming. Jayden, still in shock, looked up at her familiar, brightly smiling face. Next to the entrance lay her suitcase, as if she'd just flown in from somewhere else.

"Kori?" Jayden managed, trying to catch his breath, both from the surprise and the weight of her landing.

(777 Grantwood Road: Jaydens Apartment)

Jayden, arms loaded with grocery bags, trudged up the stairs to his apartment above Barbets.

As he unlocked the door, he was mentally preparing a triple bacon and egg sandwich, maybe even a quick nap. But the sight that greeted him stopped him in his tracks.

The living room and kitchen were a war zone of pie plates and whipped cream.

Selina, Lola, Ivy, and Harley were in the thick of it, each covered head to toe in cream. Even Raven, his usually black cat, was splattered with white blobs.

For a moment, everything was still, the girls frozen mid-throw. Then, in unison, they all pointed at Harley. "She started it!" they exclaimed.

Harley, taken aback, sputtered, "Hey!"

Jayden just sighed, setting the groceries down carefully. He fixed his gaze on Harley, who started to squirm under his stare. "I, uh, can explain," she stammered.

But Jayden cut her off, pointing dramatically to the side. "Batman!" he exclaimed.

All four heads whipped around, but there was no Dark Knight in sight. As they turned back, bewildered, Jayden struck. Four pies, perfectly aimed, splattered across their faces.

With a smirk, Jayden blew on his finger like it was the barrel of a gun. "It only takes one bullet," he quipped, enjoying the stunned looks on their faces.

(Jayden's Apartment)

Jayden was in the midst of brewing a perfect cup of coffee when the tranquillity of the moment was shattered.

A golden spear materialized out of thin air, its sharp point dangerously close to his neck.

The voice that followed was filled with arrogance and wrath. "You would do well to show respect to an Amazon warrior, boy of barbers," the voice declared.

Without flinching, Jayden sighed and continued with his coffee-making. "For the millionth time, no. And stop wearing your battle boots inside, I bought you slippers for a reason," he replied, unfazed by the sudden appearance of the weapon.

The Amazon warrior, poised to retort, was abruptly silenced.

Another spear, this one made of ice and just as menacing, appeared at her neck.

The wielder was a woman of breathtaking beauty, with pale skin, an astonishingly curvaceous figure, icy blue eyes, and hair as white as snow. She glared at the Amazon with a fierce intensity.

"And you would do well to lower your weapon against my husband, lest your queen sees your head roll from your shoulders. I would personally love to deliver it to her," she threatened.

Jayden, caught between the two formidable women, let out another sigh. "I'm not your husband, stop telling people that," he said, his tone a mixture of annoyance and resignation.

But his words seemed to fall on deaf ears as the two women stared each other down, each unwilling to back down.

(Old Gothom Nursery Rhyme...)

Whisper soft through Gotham's night,

Where shadows dance in the pale moonlight.

Hidden watchers, silent and wise,

Guard secrets under starlit skies.

Tread gently where the owls dare roam,

In hidden places, they make their home.

With unseen eyes, they watch and wait,

Masters of Gotham's fate.

In the echo of the city's heart,

Old tales and whispers gently start.

They speak of power, hidden from day,

Where owls nest and silently sway.

So close your eyes, sleep with fear,

For Gotham's watchers are always near.

In dreams and shadows, they take their stand.

The silent watchers, of Gotham's land.
