37 Chapter Thirty-Six

(Gotham City)

After a month-long absence, Lola had finally returned from her adventure in the city of Angels, Los Angeles.

Lola eager to share her experiences, rushed back to her apartment, where her roommate and best friend, Selina, awaited her arrival.

As the door swung open, Selina's eyes lit up with anticipation. "Lola! You're back!" she exclaimed, rushing forward to envelop her friend in a warm hug. "I've missed you so much. Tell me everything!"

Lola grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Selina, you won't believe the things I've seen and learned! Los Angeles is a whole different world when it comes to bartending."

They settled down on the cosy living room couch, ready for Lola's stories to transport them to the bustling nightlife of the West Coast.

"Okay, so picture this," Lola began, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. "I got the opportunity to shadow one of the best bartenders in L.A. It was like stepping into a cocktail wonderland. The energy, the creativity, the dedication—it was all so inspiring."

Selina leaned in closer, captivated by Lola's storytelling prowess. "Tell me about the cocktails! What were they like?"

Lola's eyes sparkled as she painted vivid pictures with her words. "Oh, Selina, you wouldn't believe the flavours and presentations! From artisanal creations to classic concoctions with a twist, there was something for every palate. I sampled vibrant fruity blends, smoky and sophisticated sips, and even some adventurous experimental cocktails that pushed the boundaries of drinks."

Selina's mouth watered as she imagined herself savouring these delightful libations. "Did you learn any new techniques or tricks?"

Lola nodded, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. "You bet! I picked up some impressive skills along the way. I learned the art of free pouring with precision, mastered the technique of muddling with finesse, and even dabbled in the world of cocktail garnishes. It's incredible how attention to detail can elevate a drink to a whole new level."

Selina couldn't help but feel a surge of pride for her adventurous friend. "Lola, you've come so far in your bartending journey. I'm so proud of you."

Lola's cheeks flushed with a mix of humility and joy. "Thank you, Selina. Your support means the world to me. But you know what the best part was?"

Selina leaned in, curious to hear the highlight of Lola's trip. "What was it?"

"The people," Lola answered, her voice filled with warmth. "I met so many incredible bartenders, each with their own unique style. They welcomed me into their community with open arms, sharing their knowledge and passion. It was like being part of an extended family."

Selina smiled, feeling the infectious energy radiating from Lola. "I'm so glad you had such an amazing experience, Lola."

"So, we're there any hot guys flirting with you, did you perhaps get corrupted while you were there..." Selina teased but in her mind, she wondered if she really had.

Lola rolled her eyes at Selina." Trust me, Selina, nothing happened, I didn't go there to fuck like a rabbit, I was there to learn...

Though there was this one handsome guy that had one of the best clubs in Los Angeles...I got to serve at his bar for a couple of nights and he did invite me for a fun time but I refused." Lola said remembering her time at that specific club.

"It was really weird, every time I felt tempted to accept, the image of Jayden would always snap me out of it, like I was in some sort of trance."

"And he kept asking me what I truly desired...weird guy."

'Now that I think about it every time he asked me that, the image of Jayden would appear in my head. And when I refuse to tell him every time he became more and more confused.'

As their conversation continued, ideas about Lola's new bar flowed freely.

They discussed the ambience of the bar, envisioning a space that would seamlessly blend elegance and allure.

The bar counter would be a work of art, showcasing an impressive collection of premium spirits and mixology tools. The walls would be adorned with botanical-themed artwork, reflecting Poison Ivy's love for nature.

Their excitement reached new heights as they contemplated the kind of experience they wanted to offer their guests—a place where villains and everyday people could come together, let their guards down, and just enjoy a drink.

"I can't wait to see Mixology Grove come to life." Selina exclaimed, her voice filled with determination. "This will be a place where people can escape the everyday chaos of Gotham, even if just for a little while."

Lola raised her coffee cup in a toast. "To Mixology Grove, where extraordinary cocktails and unforgettable experiences await!"

....

(The Next Day)

Lola walked into the bustling city streets, her mind still buzzing with excitement from the earlier conversation with Selina, Harley, and Poison Ivy.

She had no idea what the day held in store for her, but her friends had promised a surprise that would leave her speechless.

As she made her way to the meeting spot, Lola couldn't help but notice the mischievous glances exchanged between Selina, Harley and Ivy.

"Alright, spill it, you three. What's going on?" Lola asked, unable to contain her curiosity any longer.

Selina smirked. "You'll see soon enough, Lola."

Harley chimed in, her voice laced with excitement. "Oh, trust us, Blondie! You're in for the surprise of your life!"

They walked a few more blocks until they reached a nondescript building. Lola looked at it, confused. "Why are we stopping here?"

Selina stepped forward and pushed open the door. "Welcome to Mixology Grove!"

Lola's eyes widened as she took in the sight before her.

The interior of the bar was a masterpiece of design and ambience. Soft lighting illuminated the room, casting a warm and inviting glow.

The bar counter stretched along one side, showcasing an impressive array of spirits and mixology tools. Artistic touches adorned the walls, reflecting the unique blend of elegance and whimsy.

Lola was speechless, her eyes welling up with tears of joy. "I can't believe it. You did all this while I was away?"

Harley playfully nudged her shoulder. "Yep got that right Blondie! We couldn't wait for you to come back and see it. We knew you'd be blown away!"

Poison Ivy stepped forward, her voice filled with pride. "We wanted to show you how much we believe in your talent and vision, Lola. Mixology Grove is our way of supporting you and creating something extraordinary together."

Overwhelmed with emotions, Lola turned to her friends, her voice choked with gratitude. "I don't even know what to say. Thank you, all of you. This is beyond anything I could have imagined."

Selina grinned. "Well, get ready for more surprises, Lola. Tonight, we're celebrating the grand opening of Mixology Grove with the finest cocktails in Gotham."

Harley chimed in with a mischievous smirk. "And don't worry, Blondie. I've got plenty of jokes up my sleeve to keep the party going!"

Laughter filled the air as the four friends embraced, their bond stronger than ever.

As the night unfolded, Lola got to showcase her incredible skills. Laughter, clinking glasses, and the hum of conversation filled the air.

Lola looked around, a sense of fulfilment washing over her. With her friends by her side, she had not only found a place to express her passion but also friends that believed in her.

And so, amidst the laughter and the clinking of glasses, they celebrated the beginning of an extraordinary journey—a journey where Mixology Grove would become a place where unforgettable memories were made.

As the night carried through, Lola raised her glass, her heart full of gratitude. "To Mixology Grove, where dreams are shaken, friendships are stirred, and every drink tells a story. Cheers!"

"Cheers!"

" Now Let's get fucking wasted." Harley screamed before downing three shots, and the other ladies followed suit.

....

By the next morning, all the girls were either hungover or too tired to get up from the floor they were lying on.

So was it all worth it..."fuck yeah it was..." Well, that's probably what they would have said If asked that question.
