Chapter 5 Retrograde

"Hyung, you know those boys who got punished yesterday in economics class?" Jeongguk was having lunch with his friends in the cafeteria of Seoul university which he attended a week ago.

"Well... not that much... I talked to Jimin and his mate Yoongi when we were at Yonsei but I can barely remember the taller one," Seokjin replied,"He smells like human though... I don't think I know him..."

"Don't forget that there were humans with us in Yonsei too, of course not like here, just 5 or 6??...But here it's like, full of humans..I somewhat feel suffocated by their scents..." Jeongguk uttered with an annoying tone in his voice, but it seemed like he was thinking something.

"But again... Maybe I think it's not that bad though... I can have fun with some human too," Jeongguk smirked, making his Hyungs gasping dramatically.

"Oh yeah? I know you will. You used to do that in Yonsei too so why not here right!! but tell me something, what's going on Jeongguk? Well we never actually understand our muscled pig." Hoseok gave a short punch on Jeongguk's shoulder playfully.

"Ahh Hyung shut up... Nothing just... I mean you saw those girls? How they keep staring at me? I think I should give them some chances, and some boys too." Jeongguk was definitely thinking about a certain brown haired boy but this thrill erased when Namjoon spoke up after some moments.

"Gguk, I assume you forgot why your father sent you here right?" Namjoon continued, "Stop hooking up with random people and for God's sake, specially not boys. Your mate Ji-Eun is here so try to spend time with her too. Your father wanted this and he'll get you guys married as soon as you finish your study."

Jeongguk didn't like the mate thing at all but he had to take in what came to his life so yeah, he thought about it a several times and slowly accepted it with difficulties. He was a confident, handsome and talented boy that's why he wanted to choose his own mate. Though he doesn't really hate Ji-Eun, she's charming and beautiful, and sometimes he thinks he really has a crush on her.

"But I want to live my life here for a few days...then I think I'll talk with her about living together." Jeongguk plainly uttered. He knew he had to accept his fate and mark his mate someday. Maybe it'll help him to grow more feelings towards her and he waits for that.

"Yeah, you'll understand how it works then, right Joon?" Seokjin smiled at Namjoon, his mate.

"I hope so, I will." Jeongguk said with a faint smile.

But he frowned when a familiar scent hit his vampire nose.

TaeHyung entered the cafeteria for lunch with Jimin and Yoongi but as soon as he entered, he started feeling strange, again because of that certain royal blood. He wasn't being able to take in the strong scent for unknown reasons.

"Tae, you okay?" Yoongi asked him, watching him being tensed up.

"Umm yeah Hyung I'm okay..It's just nothing..don't worry." TaeHyung assured and just then he suddenly realized the girls were squealing in the cafeteria. Some of them were also drooling at the site of Jeongguk.

TaeHyung felt slightly angry inside, as he saw his hook-ups were also staring at Jeongguk. Well, some of them of course noticed TaeHyung too and they started calling him to their seats to have lunch with them. But TaeHyung ignored them completely.

"Chim..let's have the lunch outside? I don't feel like staying here." He slightly gritted his teeth eyeing at the people, specially that Royal blood, Jeongguk, who was trying to seduce 'his' whores. But then he felt he's slowly being able to take in the Royal blood's scent and it's not bothering him like the past week. He felt somewhat relieved. Though he felt frustrated because of the impact Jeongguk was making in the people. Because he was the one who used to have the attention.

"It's okay here Taebear, why outside? Let's be friends with the new students okay?" Jimin excitedly said, but TaeHyung disliked the idea.

"What're you thinking Tae? They won't recognize you, you've changed a lot and don't worry, they'll feel you're just a human...your masker is strong right?" Jimin patted on the small of his back, giving him assurance.

But that wasn't the matter why TaeHyung didn't want to meet them. He was somewhat feeling jealous and insecure which he hated to admit. but he proceeded nonetheless.

"Hi guys! What's up?" Jimin cheerfully greeted when he joined at the same table with the vampires.

"Hi Jimin. How're you? Long time no see" Namjoon uttered. They talked two or three times when hey were at yonsei but Jimin and Yoongi left after a few days they met. They didn't know about TaeHyung because his course was different.

"Oh this is my friend TaeHyung... You guys don't know him maybe." Jimin introduced him, and Seokjin Introduced Jeongguk too, "Yeah, and he's Jeongguk, your junior though, one year... hehe. But we maybe have the same classes in economics right?"

"Yeah... Hi Jeongguk, nice to meet ya," Jimin waved his hands a little at him and Jeongguk replied gladly too. But his eyes were stuck on TaeHyung.

"Nice to meet you too... And you too, Tae." Jeongguk emphasized on his name unnecessarily which made taeHyung annoyed even more.

"Yeah whatever... Nice to meet you. Gguk." TaeHyung said with a fake smile on his face, which was clearly showing.

"Well... Someone is being rude I assume." Jeongguk raised an eyebrow at TaeHyung, still staring, and TaeHyung felt too much uncomfortable.

"And someone isn't focusing on the meal I assume" TaeHyung nearly snapped at him but controlled it.

The others understood the atmosphere getting weird, so Hoseok just tried to shrug it off with a loud laugh "You guys are still kids...hahaha...But it's good to have some entertainment here lol." But he was interrupted with a girl's voice.

"Jeongukkie!! You're already here! you didn't inform me I was worried!" Ji-Eun, Jeongguk's mate came running towards him and hugged him tightly.

And that's it.

TaeHyung suddenly remembered something about his past and it got him.

He cringed.

He never wants to recall the memories but those come back everyday.

And makes him hate himself.

TaeHyung ran out of the cafeteria uttering a small "excuse me" and locked himself in the comfort room, breathing heavily.
