Tragedy

It's been two weeks since Alfred's birthday, and to say he was nervous would be an understatement. His mother was going through labor in the room next to him as he waited in the hallway with his father.

Then both sat on a bench in the hallway, staying silent, waiting for viola to finish giving birth, and all they could do after that was leave it in the mage's hands they hired to heal her.

After an hour of waiting for the mage, they hired walked out and were smiling "congratulations on having a baby girl," the mage said in a sincere and gentle voice, and Luke rushed into the room, ignoring the mage.

Alfred stood there bowed a little "thank you so much!" He said very seriously, and the mage had a kind smile. "Go and see your baby sister," the nurse said, and Alfred cautiously walked into the room.

He walked to his mother's bedside and looked at the adorable baby in their arms. Alfred's jealousy flew out the window when he saw his baby sister, and his heart melted.

"What's her name?" Alfred asked, and viola smiled.

"Her name is Mona Godfrey. Do you want to hold her?" My mother asked. Alfred nodded repeatedly, and his mom gently handed Mona over to Alfred.

Alfred was cautious with his little sister as he held her in his arms. She had brown hair and brown eyes taking after his father in that way. Alfred looked down at her and felt a sort of duty as the older sibling. 'I will protect you no matter what!' Alfred said with determination in his mind.

Luke and Viola smiled, seeing their son's big smile and determined look in his eyes. They were scared Alfred didn't want or would not like his sibling, but the worry faded away seeing his smile and the look in his golden eyes.

But before we get too attached to the new family member, let's skip ahead a bit…. How about Nine years…. The day the bright and cheerful Alfred disappeared and was replaced…

Alfred turned 15 just a couple of days ago, and It was now a week before Alfred would get his grimoire at the ceremony, and he was pumped up. Alfred was now in Elmora Forest, picking all tons of fruits and vegetables for his family and his sister. This forest was one of the primary forests in the Heart kingdom. It was known for its delicious fruits.

Back to his family. After his sister was born, he loved his sister and always got along with her as she grew up. They would do everything together when it came to experimenting. She was a troublemaker and loved experimenting with different ingredients to see if they would blow up just as much as Alfred. Still, over the years, not as many things have blown up thanks to the information they now have about the ingredients and the results of putting several together.

But Alfred found something way better to experiment with: mana theory and how to use natural mana properly. He became quite the expert thanks to his years of tedious studying.

Alfred was on his way home after gathering Enough food for the family, but suddenly a blinding white light lit up the sky, causing him to close his eyes. After completing his eyes, he managed to open them after some time before seeing a sight that he would remember for the rest of his life before he was flung away by a shockwave.

*Swishhhh!* *boom!*

"Ahkkk!" Alfred screamed as he got embedded into a rock. Alfred looked around with hazy and blurry eyes and coughed up blood as it spilled onto the ground. 'What…what's going on? What's happening?' Alfred then looked back to what he saw before and was still shocked to see the kingdom princess and what looked to be a woman with an eyepatch covering her eye and black wings coming out of her back fighting in the sky a distance away.

Alfred then felt extreme pain in their stomach. He looked down with the same hazy eyes that now held pain inside them and was once again shocked. He had a big stick of a tree branch going through his stomach. 'Heh, when did that get there?' Alfred thought as he touched his stomach, which was now bleeding with blood. His eyes rolled back, and he fainted thanks to the immense pain.

Meanwhile, the fight in the sky was just about over. With the help of the water spirit, the princess managed to fend off the women but with a severe price. Lolopechka looked at the surrounding destroyed buildings and injured civilians with a sorrowful expression. Her eyes widened, looking in a specific direction. 'No, no, no! Please be fine. Please, please, please.' The princess thought as she looked around the rubble of a mansion or, more pacifically, the Godfrey mansion. She looked around till she found a frightening sight that would haunt her dreams for the rest of her life. Three bodies were covered in rubble and blood, and a dangerous conclusion made its way into the princess's mind; The Godfrey family was dead.
