Ninth Quest Complete

Day of Monar, 1:43 p.m.

At the Adventurer's Guild.

Vivian stepped inside the main hall to submit the quest items for the Bukaroo quest she took yesterday.

After escorting the old woman and her family and claiming her reward for slaying the demon bandits, she headed straight to the compound where the members of the Temple of Priests live.

Now that I think about it...

Since I'm still holding the Bukaroo quest from yesterday, there won't be a new Bukaroo quest posted on the Quest Board today, right...?

Or will I have to wait for a few hours or until the next day for a new Bukaroo quest to be posted...?

As far as Vivian can remember, she finishes her quests within the same day.

This could be a loophole that I can exploit...!

I should definitely ask Pana once I'm done submitting this...!

Vivian was already on her way to the Quest Rewards counter when a familiar voice called her name.

"Vivian!"

She saw Pana waving at her and she waved back before heading over to her.

"Hey Pana. Anything happened?"

"Nothing much, but Mrs. Belfair is waiting for you in one of the conference rooms."

Vivian knitted her brows.

Oh...

I totally forgot about this...

Tch...!

"I'll submit these quest items first and take a quest before I see her."

"Okay. By the way, the quest that Madam Potts offered to you is still up. She said it will be available until it expires."

"I see."

***

The conference room.

Mrs. Belfair was sitting at one of the sofas while eating cookies and drinking tea.

The door opened and Vivian entered before closing the door.

Mrs. Belfair put down the cookies she was eating.

"You're finally here. I was --"

"Shut the fuck up," Vivian cut her off with a dismissive and cold tone.

Mrs. Belfair stared speechlessly and simply watched Vivian make her way like an uncultured hooligan to the other sofa across her.

When Vivian sat down, she crossed her legs and let out a sigh before massaging her temples.

Tch!

She clicked her tongue.

"So many fucking problems...!"

"And that loophole didn't work..."

"I still have to wait for a couple of hours before the next Bukaroo quest will be available..."

"Fuck...!"

Unable to understand Vivian's rambling, Mrs. Belfair opened her mouth.

"You. What did you --"

Vivian stopped massaging her temples and turned to her.

"I said shut the fuck up, old hag! Do you understand me or do I need to shout at your fucking old, wrinkled and useless ears?!"

Mrs. Belfair's face began slightly pale.

"I have to go," she said and tried to get up.

"Move and I'll break your legs."

Mrs. Belfair ignored Vivian's threats and still got up.

"I can't believe --"

Vooom!

Thud.

Vivian suddenly blurred and the next thing Mrs. Belfair knew, the coffee table that was between her and Vivian was moved to the side before bumping into a single-seat sofa and Vivian was standing right in front of her.

Poke.

Vivian lightly poked Mrs. Belfair's forehead. But to her, it felt like someone violently shoved a finger on her forehead.

A small and amused smile slowly appeared on Vivian's face, causing a cold shiver to run down Mrs. Belfair's spine.

"So you're not strong, huh," Vivian said and tilted her head to the side as she examined Mrs. Belfair's white hair and wrinkled skin.

"Y-Y-You attacked me…!" Mrs. Belfair said tried to step back after realizing that there was a sofa behind her.

"You know what, I've been thinking where did you get this bravado on how you talk to me, a Priest? Obviously, you're not strong. Is it that you're well-connected? A noble perhaps? A rich merchant? You're related to a powerful person? But then again, none of that makes sense. Because if you were any of those things, you wouldn't waste your time bothering me."

The old woman slowly sat down and her face was now as pale as a ghost.

"I-I-If you let me leave, I promise I won't bother you anymore…!"

The small smile on Vivian's face grew.

"Come now, you think I'm that stupid? Anyhow, there are only 2 reasons left: You just don't care anymore because of old age and --"

Pah.

"Ahh!!!"

Thud.

Vivian slapped Mrs. Belfair on the face causing her to cry out as she fell down face-first on the sofa.

"-- you're a FUCKING HERETIC!"

And of course, Vivian didn't use her full strength.

Mrs. Belfair was still stunned from the slap and the sudden turn of events as blood trickled down from her lips.

"Ahh...!" Mrs. Belfair groaned.

Vivian grabbed a handful of her hair, pulled her up and made her face her.

"Yes, yes, you are a heretic, a demon-worshiper. That explains everything. Now it makes sense."

"No, no, no, I'm so --"

Pah.

"Ahh!!!"

Thud.

She received another slap. But this time around it was on the other cheek and she fell face-first on the sofa once more.

"HE--!" she was about to scream for help but Vivian closed her mouth.

A sense of disgust crept inside Vivian because she wasn't wearing gloves and she felt the old woman's lips, teeth, tongue and saliva pressing against her palm.

Right after the teaching and feeding Holy Mission, in order to evade Lily and Airie, she decided to go straight to the Adventurer's Guild right after the checking of attendance was done.

"SHOW YOUR TRUE FORM, YOU DISGUSTING DEMON!"

"Um-Um-Um!!!"

Still holding onto Mrs. Belfair's mouth, she shook her face.

"I COMMAND YOU IN THE NAME OF THE GOD OF LIGHT!"

Tears began to well up in Mrs. Belfair's eyes.

Vivian pulled back her hand because it was covered with saliva.

"P-Please forgive --"

Pah!

Vivian slapped Mrs. Belfair but accidentally used a little bit too much force, knocking her out cold.

Tch!

"SO FUCKING WEAK!!!"

She extended her hand and activated a spell.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped Mrs. Belfair's body but she was still knocked out cold.

Vivian gritted her teeth.

She grabbed Mrs. Belfair's hair and yanked it a bit too much that she almost tore her scalp off.

"AAAHHH!!!" Mrs. Belfair woke up and cried out in pain.

A huge grin appeared on Vivian's face.

The door of the room suddenly opened and it was a female guild receptionist.

When the receptionist saw Vivian holding Mrs. Belfair by the hair with tears in her eyes and blood trickling down from her lips, her eyes turned wide and her jaw dropped.

"HELP ME!!! CALL FOR --"

Bam!

Vivian shoved Mrs. Belfair's face against the sofa.

"This person is suspected of being a demon-worshiper. And as a Priest, it is my duty to capture and send them to the Temple of Priests for further questioning."

"Huh...?" was the only thing that the receptionist could say.

Earlier, she heard some loud noises when she passed by so she decided to check it. And when she opened the door, never in a million years did she expect to see such a scene.

"AHHH!"

Mrs. Belfair cried out in pain as Vivian pulled her up by the hair.

"Come now, stop resisting and behave. I'm taking you to the Temple of Priest for further questioning!" Vivian said and then began dragging her out.

"HELP ME!!! THIS CRAZY PRIEST IS LYING!!!" Mrs. Belfair cried and tried to grab the guild receptionist as they passed by her.

However, the receptionist stepped away and let Vivian drag her.

Although the receptionist didn't know exactly who was telling the truth, if she had to pick, she didn't want to make an enemy with the Temple of Priests.

Due to the noise, people from the other rooms nearby came out to check out what was the commotion.

And when they saw Vivian and Mrs. Belfair, they had the same reaction as the guild receptionist.

When they reached the main hall, Mrs. Belfair began screaming and thrashing around like a wild animal, not caring at all if all of the hair on her scalp would be ripped out, causing everyone to stop what they were doing and watch speechlessly.

"HELP ME!!!"

"I'M BEING FRAMED BY THIS CRAZY PRIEST!!!"

"HEEELLLPPP!!!"

Pana's eyes turned wide and she covered her mouth.

"CALL THE GUILD MASTER!!!"

"TELL HIM MY GRANDSON IS AN AUDITOR!!!"

"HIS NAME IS -- AAAHHH!"

Bam!

"Blaaargh!"

Vivian yanked Mrs. Belfair's head up and then punched her on the stomach, causing her to vomit the cookies and tea that she had eaten just earlier.

Mrs. Belfair was semi-unconscious and kneeling down on her vomit with Vivian still holding onto her hair.

"This woman is suspected of being a demon-worshiper and I'm taking her to the Temple of Priests for further questioning. Anyone here who tries to help her, I will consider as an accomplice."

Vivian swept her gaze around, trying to see if anyone would step in.

There weren't many people in the guild during this time of the day.

And when Vivian met their eyes, they all looked away.

Seeing that no one was going to step in and save the old woman, Vivian cast a spell.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped Mrs. Belfair's body.

"AHHH!"

She was pulled up again and Vivian resumed dragging her by the hair to the Temple of Priests.
