29 Too Unfamiliar

Ye Qing Xin lowered her gaze, feeling a little unhappy that she did not get to see the person's figure. When she looked up again, that look had disappeared from her face.

"Xin Xin, come in and take a look," Jiang Liang Chen said. "This is your office."

Ye Qing Luo followed Jiang Liang Chen and looked around the place. Then, Ye Qing Luo looked at her sister with anticipation, wondering if her sister would remember something.

"Xin Xin, take a seat first," Jiang Liang Chen said. "That's right. Let me go and ask someone to prepare a drink." Her lips turned to a smile. "Coffee as usual?"

Jiang Liang Chen did not wait for Ye Qing Xin to reply. She turned around and left the room.

Once the door was shut behind her, Ye Qing Xin looked in the direction where her friend had left.

From the way Jiang Liang Chen and the secretary were behaving, Ye Qing Xin could see that they both were trying to hide that person away.

Her eyes narrowed as she wondered what was her friend trying to hide.

She saw someone leaving Jiang Liang Chen's office. From the person's clothing, Ye Qing Xin could tell that the other party was a man.

Interesting.

Ye Qing Xin wondered just why her friend wanted to hide this person from her. Was he someone that she should not meet?

Why was everyone being so secretive around her?

"Sister, what do you think? Did you remember anything?" Ye Qing Luo asked. She went over to her sister's side to take a closer look at her sister's face.

Ye Qing Xin touched her temple and realized that the pain around her head had disappeared. She looked at her sister and flashed an apologetic smile. "I don't remember."

"That's alright." Ye Qing Luo held her sister's arm tightly. "The doctor also reminded you to take things slow. Perhaps you would remember if you spend more time here and get yourself familiar with everything, it might help you to remember."

Her gaze lowered. Ye Qing Xin doubt that she would remember anything. After all, she and the previous Ye Qing Xin was not the same person.

However, there were some words that Ye Qing Xin did not dare to say out loud. She knew well that her sister was worried about her and did not want Ye Qing Luo to worry about her.

Ye Qing Xin walked over to the window to look at the scene outside.

Everything around her was too unfamiliar.

She walked around the office to look around, hoping to learn more about the previous Ye Qing Xin.

On the shelf were a few books related to design and business. Ye Qing Xin realized that most of the books on the shelf were something that she had read in the past.

Ye Qing Xin touched the computer on the table and switched it on.

Just then, the door was pushed open again and Jiang Liang Chen walked into the room while carrying a tray of refreshments.

"Xin Xin." The smile on Jiang Liang Chen's face disappeared when she realized that the computer was turned on. "You... what are you trying to do?"

"Didn't you say that this is my office?" Ye Qing Xin raised a brow. "What's wrong with looking at my computer? I thought that there should be something that would help me to remember."

Jiang Liang Chen forced herself to calm down, knowing that she was being too impulsive. "Xin Xin, it has been a while since you are using this computer. I think you should let the IT staff update your computer first."

Her brow rose.

Even if she has been away for a few months, would she need the IT staff to update her computer?

Ye Qing Xin decided not to argue with her friend and instead, stayed around and observed her friend for a little while.

Jiang Liang Chen placed the tray of refreshments on the table. "Xin Xin, Xiao Luo, go ahead and try a few snacks."

"Mmm... Thank you, Sister Jiang Chen." Ye Qing Luo walked over and grabbed a small cake from the table. The sweet taste of the cake entered her mouth and her lips tilted up to a smile.

Ye Qing Xin took a seat in her swiveling chair and stared at the computer. Noticing that her friend was observing her, Ye Qing Xin decided not to make many moves that would make her friend become wary of her.

"I only come to take a look around, hoping that I would remember something. You don't have to prepare anything."

"It is the first time you come to the office after the accident. Of course, I have to prepare a little something." Jiang Liang Chen took a seat and looked at her friend again. "How is it? Did you remember anything?"

Ye Qing Xin shook her head. "It's still not working."

A glint appeared in Jiang Liang Chen's eyes before it disappeared quickly. "Xin Xin, I'm sure that you would remember it someday. Even if you don't remember anything much, we will still be around to look after you."

"Mhm... I know. That's right. Liang Chen, you said that you have something to discuss with me. What is it?"

"Right. There is a document that I need you to sign," Jiang Liang Chen spoke. "I know that you don't remember much about your work at the company. But you can rest assured. I will slowly explain everything to you. Hold on. Let me go and take the documents first."

Jiang Liang Chen stood at the door and called the secretary to help her take some documents. After seeing the way Ye Qing Xin was looking around the office, Jiang Liang Chen was afraid to leave her friend alone in the office.

Fortunately, the secretary worked very fast to find the documents.

Jiang Liang Chen checked the documents before walking to Ye Qing Xin again. She opened the last page where Ye Qing Xin was supposed to put her signature on. "Xin Xin, just sign here." She cleared her throat and continued, "I might be able to help you to look after the company, but there are a few things that still need your signature."

Ye Qing Xin took the document and flipped through the pages. "What is this?"

"Just the agreement that we discussed with AN Group a few months ago. Xin Xin, before you had that accident, we agreed to use their courier service for our business."

Her brow furrowed. Ye Qing Xin looked at the thick contract and then, at Jiang Liang Chen's anxious expression.
