Chapter 12 - Showing off a bit

"You've found our prey? What the hell does that even mean?"

Angelica looked at me completely confused, whilst Elizabeth seemed to have understood something. "You have some sort of detection ability don't you."?

I nodded my head, "We don't know where Alicia is, I've got a plan but it's not perfect."

And so I explained my plan to them, it capitalised on Alicia's inexperience as a combatant since she was a Princess. She was probably taught to go for the strongest target possible so she could take them out easily, since bowmen were rather stealthy.

I was going to act as bait and take on as many people as possible. Alicia would likely aim her bow at me, thinking that I wasn't paying attention. Even if I got hit it'd be fine since I could regenerate. Earlier on we weren't looking for her and as such, we didn't notice her using mana, but now with both of them on the look out we'd be able to find her and send both of them to hunt her down along with any of her remaining team mates. And they would also try and take down any extras who they thought they could handle.

The reason I was sending both of them was to account for the possibility of someone like Arden or Elijah being on Alicia's team. As of now, only I could take either of them down.

We moved from building to building as stealthily as possible, not daring to use any Mana, fearing that we would be noticed. I went to the building closest to the six people fighting whilst the other two decided to hide a nearby building.

'I can feel my inner chuuni acting up right now. Actually, why don't we try to be a bit bad ass?'

I let the Mana from my heart course throughout my body, I let it flow through each and every crevice of my being. I activated [Monarch's Wrath] the 'Wrath' I was exuding reached far and wide. I tensed my calves and jumped on to the ground, the ground cracked a bit from the impact.

(Author's note: the pressure that his Unique Skill released will be called 'Wrath' from this point on. I'll be using ' ' to make it clearer.)

They all turned their heads towards me, the earlier confidence that they showed seemed to have been shattered. The mental battle was a large part of the battle, I knew this from the small skirmishes that used to happen when I was younger. I had learnt something rather useful.

'If the opponent is scared shitless, you can shit on them.'

I drew my sword and let it rest on my shoulder, I started circulating Mana throughout my body and enhanced my strength. I channeled my Frost Mana and the ground around me started freeze and crack.

"Winter's Fury"

Spikes of ice gushed forth and covered everything with 40 or so meters. One of the fighters had received a spoke through his chest and died instantly while the other had a spike through her leg.

The pain we felt here wasn't too great, and since most of the people here had been in one of these before. 'Dying' here didn't really affect them mentally, but with the amount of fear they were feeling. They probably thought that they would actually die, I purposely avoided killing the girl on the spot so the others would be able to see what awaited them

I released a flurry of ice and allowed it cover her entire body aside from her head. This was to allow her to scream. I started stepping on her body and allowed her to see her body being broken. Under the influence of my skill, I didn't really care. But she did not have any mental defence skill, so she was basically fucked.

"AAAAHH-"

Her scream was cut off by her body dissapearing, she had taken lethal damage and had died. I moved forward and decapitated two of them. I plunged my hands into the bodies of the other two and froze their bodies. My instincts were telling me that I had to finish it fast, and it turned out that they were right.

An arrow whizzed past me, the Mana pulsation wasn't even masked. But the accuracy was something only Alicia was capable of, after all it had pierced straight throw my elbow.

But she was probably too scared to actually try and think, as such she didn't try to hide herself. I said that the mental battle was a large part of a battle. And that held true, because I wasn't fighting those six people but Alicia.

But my plan wasn't perfect, she was still a good shot and was using Magic arrows. They were arrows created by Mana, they were often mixed with a person's elemental attribute. Alicia could use plant and wind magic, the wind arrow was sharp and fast and almost silent. My arm then fell off and and made a small thudding noise, I simply picked it back up and attached it to my arm.

It hurt a lot, but I didn't really care, I focused my mind on healing my arm. I could feel my muscle fibres joining up again, the bone was re-growing and reconnecting. It was a painful process, but due to the influence of my skill it barely hurt.

My eyes were far better than a normal humans and Alicia was using mana to enhance her eyesight, because of that, we were able to make eye contact. I smiled at her and gave her a little wave.

But she was staring at me in complete horror and mouthed the word 'Monster' , it was a pretty fitting nickname. Most humans couldn't simply pick up their arms and reconnect it, so of course she'd be scared shitless.

Then, I felt someone closing in on me. I felt threatened, I could tell who this feeling came from. It was Arden, one of the two people who could actually fight me.

My arm wasn't completely done healing, he noticed that and stepped forward, immediately aiming for it. I managed to dodge it due my rank being higher that his. I moved back but his attacks were relentless.

He started coursing Thunder Attribute Mana through his body, a golden hue enveloped his body as he rushed forward. His speed and power had significantly increased.

We traded blows over and over, I was able to dodge his blows whilst he skillfully used my own strength against me and deflected my blows. There was a huge gap between our skill, it was a gap so great that it put him on equal footing with someone a rank higher than him.

I backed away and used the few seconds I had to focus every on healing my body, I was honestly scared of fighting. As such I wasn't able to heal, my healing factor needed my concentration as of now. But I had a feeling that I'd be able to use it passively as time went on.

I was fighting him with a damaged arm earlier, now I could use both my arms. I channeled a huge amount of my Mana into my arms. This left my body susceptible to attacks.

If I tried to do this at the start of the fight I'd have died, or he'd have deflected it. But now that he had realised that I had been fighting with one arm, he was shaken. On top of that he was tired, he had probably fought some people on the way here. And if you added on the fact that I was ranked higher than him, you would realise that his situation was pretty hopeless.

Arden was noticeably scared when he noticed what I was going to do, he prepared to block but I simply swung down with all my might and shattered his spear along with his body. Just as I finished my fight, I saw a crimson red flame engulfing the building where Alicia was.

I decided that it was best to regroup and made my way towards the building where I found both Angelica and Elizabeth. There were only minor scratches on them, Angelica gave me a little wave and Elizabeth nodded towards me and said,

"The plan went off without a hitch, but how did you manage to heal your arm? We both saw it getting hit by Alicia's arrow and I didn't sense or see you using healing magic?"

Now how was I going to get out of this situation?
