14 Chapter 14: A Promise Of 10 Million Insects

(Vane POV)

"Brat, I hope you've reached the Foundation Establishment: Level 10 last night because I won't be going easy on you!"

Big sister Terra said as we stood in a space located somewhere in the tunnel. The tunnel, while dark, is quite big. The space was enough for hundreds of people to form a crowd.

Slowly, a white aura shrouded me and the place started to get colder. A vertical object started to form in my hands, and when it was done, a sword made completely of ice appeared. It was sharp, I noticed when I stabbed the ground with it and it easily pierced it.

Big sister Terra smirked when she saw me use my ice technique, "So you've already mastered the [Jaded Ice] Manual. And not only that, but you also reached level 10! Good! Good! You're already making your master proud, brat!"

Smiling thinly, I said, "Are you sure your eyes are working, big sister Terra?"

"What did you say, brat!?"

Flashing my aura again, I said, "Haven't you noticed? I have reached the state beyond level 10 of the Foundation Establishment! I have reached level 12 overnight!" At this point, my blue aura was already blazing bright.

(POV End)

Terra's eyes were like that of an owl, they were widened so much that I thought they would drop.

'Impossible! Level 12 of the Foundation Establishment!? Doesn't this mean this brat is more talented than me!? He's just 16 years old! I started cultivating at the age of 6 for fuck sake! At the rate he's going, he will reach higher stages than me in the future!' She said inside her thoughts, shocked at the prospect.

Normally, there are only 10 small stages in every major stage in cultivation but the second major stage, Foundation Establishment, is an exception to that because a cultivator can reach level 11 or higher if they have enough talent and will build more foundation for their future progress. And there's a higher chance of gaining more colors in the Rainbow Core stage if cultivators have more foundation.

This is something most cultivators would try to do for months but Vane here just broke through 2 extra small stages overnight! The terrifying thing about this is not just his cultivation, but also his age. He's just 16 and already reached that high in cultivation!

This is great for the Coexistence Sect but also, at the same time, bad. The two other sects in the bronze continent are extreme human supremacists! They believe that humans are the sole creation of the entity they only call "god". They believe that this "god" of theirs created the entire world, and this originated from the church of white in the Silver Continent.

The other two sects don't like the Coexistence Sect because of obvious reasons, and these two would do anything to obstruct their sect's path, even daring to kill many of their human members. It's safe to say that Vane would also be targeted if the news about his existence gets to the public.

'I'll talk to Alexander about this, but for now, I'll train him how to fight.' She said in her thoughts,

Faking a cough, she said, "Impressive! But you can do better than this, try reaching level 15 next time. That's the least you can do to impress your dear master once again." That was an obvious lie, she's so impressed by his progress that she thinks she might be getting a little jealous.

Thinking about it, Vane said, "I think I'm about to breakthrough again tonight, and I might reach level 14 tomorrow and level 15 the next day, big sister Terra!"

"Pfft!" *Cough* *Cough*

She coughed even harder in disbelief, and said, "W-Well, t-that's great! I look forward to it!"

'You f*cking brat! Nobody likes an overachiever!'

Then, suddenly, a very loud noise came from the direction of the safe house.

"Gyaaaaaaahh!!"

"The hell was that?" Terra asked herself, confused.

"That voice…" Vane's eyes widened, and then worry took over his whole body, "Auguste!"

With all his might, he ran straight towards the safe house and a sonic boom that shook the entire tunnel slightly exploded behind him. He just broke the speed of sound, expending half the entire amount of his mana.

Soon, Vane arrived at the safe house and saw many of his siblings flocking his room. Using his superhuman agility, he passed through many of them without them even noticing. Once he got inside of the room, he saw Auguste on Flare's bed in a state of shock with tears coming out of the corner of his eyes. The red-haired girl was trying to calm him down but couldn't, Auguste was becoming hysterical.

Vane didn't know what to do but then Alexander came behind them with a worried look on his face. The children moved away, including him.

When he got to Flare's bed, he asked her, "What happened here? Why is Auguste paralyzed and crying? Flare, tell me, what happened?" He kneeled to her head-level, looking at her with eyes full of worry.

"I-I don't know. I was sleeping, and then I just heard him scream and I saw him right beside me. I noticed that I was hugging him but I don't remember, ever, that he was sleeping right next to me. I swear! I'm not lying!" Flare was feeling nervous. It was obvious that the reason he was like this was because of her but she didn't know what she did.

The children watching though were surprised to see her like this since it's not every day that this cold girl will show this many emotions in front of them.

"Shh, shh, it's okay. Calm down, take a deep breath and explain it to me properly." Alexander said, trying to calm her down.

She took a deep breath, and finally calmed down.

As she was to talk properly, Auguste suddenly yelled while pointing at her with his little finger, "You! You touched my no-no place when you were sleeping! You forcefully hugged me and then rubbed me all over my body!"

Everyone turned their eyes on Flare, suspicion beginning to arose. It was obvious what they were thinking, and Alexander has to silence any wrong thoughts going through their heads before it was too late.

"Now, now, calm down, Auguste, I'm sure she didn't mean to do it, she must've been moving while she was sleeping. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt, and forget this ever happened." He then whispered into his right ear without anyone noticing, "If you stop this, I'll give you ten-thousand insects, all wrapped up like a gift just for you. If you want, I can make them one-hundred-thousand! A million, even! Just please, forgive her." This might be a little bit wrong but he doesn't need any stress coming to Flare right now, she has just woken up from her 3-month coma, after all.

(Auguste POV)

Many schemes entered my mind, but I knew Alexander knew that I "love" killing insects. He, of course, had seen me do that and I know that. While I was horrified when she touched my no-no place, I was also thinking of how I can use this to my advantage. I screamed to gain all of their attention but I didn't have any plans back then until Alexander came.

With Alexander, I knew that he won't let things just be like this. Flare had just woken up from her coma and if I pretend to have been "molested" by her with the use of my words, Alexander would immediately think of what will happen. He is a smart person, very smart if you compare him to others, but I was smarter… albeit just a little. I have no experience but I am a toddler, and who would the other children believe? A toddler or a teenager? Of course, it's me.

Alexander had no choice but to bribe me, and that's my jackpot because I really need Kill Points right now. If he brought me even a million insects, I would receive around 100,000 KP. I could do a lot of things with that amount of KP, and I can earn it rather easily.

This is ridiculous but the situation needs it, and now I can properly say this to tutorial bot, 'Got you, you fucking prick!'

[Well, I'll be damned. This situation is ridiculous but with Alexander's overprotectiveness and the gullible children, this might work!]

I smiled brightly, and said, "Hahahahaha! I got you all! This was just a prank that big sister Flare and I came up with, and you all fell for it! Ain't that right, big sister Flare?" I looked at her with my eyes shining brightly like an excited child, but then I winked at her.

Looking a bit dumbfounded, she nodded rapidly and said, "Y-Yeah! W-We got all of you good! This was just a prank!"

I then turned my eyes to Alexander and made some mouth movements that he saw as he widened his eyes.

I basically said, 'Give me ten million insects, and I'll let all of this go. Don't worry, I'll give you many medicines that I might make through my "alchemistic" skills.'

He nodded, understanding me. He then made some mouth movements, and I read them, 'I'll give them all to you tomorrow, and you better not go back from your promise, you little, sneaky boy.'

He also smiled at me as he said, "Hahahaha! You got me good, Auguste! You too, Flare! You two got me worried for nothing!" Then stood up to separate the crowd of children away, "C'mon, c'mon, go back to your rooms. And hey, hey! You! Don't skip classes tomorrow, okay? I'll be teaching more about history! Remember, don't be absent tomorrow or I'll give you all to big sister Terra to be taught!"

As he reminded his children, he slowly went down the stairs with the children being faster. He got down to the ground floor, and blinked, and opened his eyes to see Terra standing against the side of the door.

"Quite a cunning brat you have there, Alex. I saw in his eyes that he had other ulterior motives. I don't know about you but that brat is very cunning." She said.

Taking out a bottle of orange juice in the small fridge before pouring it into a glass cup, then took a sip.

He said, "What do you want me to do, Terra? The boy's only two years old, all of us are already 10 times his age."

She smirked and then moved away from the door frame as she slowly walked around the ground floor while saying, "Give him to me and I'll train him into a proper man. You've been pampering him far too much, but he's smarter than any kid his age and he knows that, that's why he's been using you. Again, give him to me and he'll grow into a fine man."

Shaking his head, Alexander said, "No, I can't give him to you. You'll just torture him. I'll leave him on his own, it's not like he's doing anything bad. He only asked me for ten million insects, and I could easily afford that."

"Are you serious? Ten million insects!? What's he gonna do with that!? You have a weird kid there, Alex." She said, surprised at that fact.

He smiled at her, "That's why he's my child."
