Chapter 29
Once they've reached an agreement everyone got out of the room and went to the training area and got into places while Ryder was still pouting about not being allowed to fight. Ricky was a distance away from Carly giving her some space to fight but making sure he is of optimal distance where he is able to reach her in time to protect her if things get messy and the same goes for Alvin, Ryder stood obediently behind Alvin as he was totally uninterested now due to not being able to participate in the fight itself.
"Okay the rules are simple, if you can get me on the ground and make me stay down for 10 seconds then you win, the same goes for me," Emily explained the rules and Carly nodded, soon the fight started.
Carly and Emily charged towards each other each having their own ideas of how it will turn out but things weren't going the way Carly expected. Carly struck a punch at Emily expecting her to dodge and give a punch back which she will then use that time to grab onto her hand and give her a kick at the leg causing her to stumble and fall but things did not play out that way, instead, Emily did not even move, she stopped at a distance and seemed to be expecting the punch from Carly, she received the punch with her both her arms blocking her face as if trying to test out Carly's strength first. After that during the period where Carly was suffering from a momentary shock, Emily performed an uppercut but due to Carly's quick reflexes and flexibility she bent her upper body backward and did a backflip to avoid the punch sending Emily backing off a little to avoid getting kicked.
Emily was stunned by Carly's performance as she could tell that Carly is a seasoned fighter and has even been through certain degrees of training, but she didn't show it on her face and simply continued on with the fight, this time she wasn't going to wait for her to strike but instead she'll go on the offense. Ever since young Emily had a weird ability, she was able to blind the opponent for a moment, she was able to take away their sight and let them only see darkness, she did not know where it came from but she was somehow able to do it. Emily focused and within the next moment Carly was shocked and stunned as all she could see was darkness, once Emily saw that Carly was still confused and trying to figure out what was going on, she immediately took action and attacked. She swung her fist at Carly hoping within that 1 strike it will beat Carly down and end the match quickly as the blinding won't last long but to her surprise, Carly instantly caught her fist, even though Carly might be blinded and is in a terrible disadvantage but no matter what she is still the alpha's daughter and her fighting capability can be compared to Alvin's. Having been training and fighting in battles for the pack, she has long since trained her body to react to any threatening movement even with her eyes clouded by darkness. Emily's hand was now caught by Carly but that did not mean she was about to back down, her leg strikeout and was about to kick towards Carly but before it could land, Carly let go of her hand and dodged the kick by moving backward. With this Carly and Emily were back to where they started, but now both were sweating and their breathing ragged, Alvin saw that if they continued it will most likely still be a tie, therefore, he called out to stop the match.
"Emy, I think that is enough. Carly and you are a tie and I am sure Ricky and Ryder can fight better than her so let's just stop alright?" Emily turned towards Alvin and nodded since she felt what he said was true and there was no point continuing the fight since Carly could even block her attack when she was blinded by darkness, it definitely meant that she has the capabilities to protect herself.
Emily stopped focusing on her ability letting Carly regain her sight. Carly winced and shut her eyes once her sight was given back to her as she could not get used to the lights all at once after not being able to see for a short period of time but soon she could open her eyes again and look at what was going on.
"Em, what was that??" Carly bounced up to Emily totally curious about what did she do to take away her sight while Ricky rushed up to her to make sure she had not sustained any injuries. While Carly was questioning Emily, Ricky made sure that she was totally alright before letting out a sigh of relieving and patting her on her head.
"What do you mean? You mean the tie?" Emily tried to play dumb but Carly wasn't taking any of it.
"Babe, what happened?" Ricky asked while everyone else was just as confused, something seems to have caught Ryder's interest and he went closer to Emily and started looking her up and down as if inspecting a treasure.
"You, how did you do that to Carly? You took away her sight didn't you?" Ryder exposed Emily which caused everyone to looked at him in shock for various reasons. Firstly, Emily did not expect her ability to be exposed just by someone looking. Secondly, Carly was the one experiencing the full brunt of the ability, therefore, she was shocked that Ryder knows about it. Thirdly, Ricky and Alvin were just shocked that Emily was able to do such a thing.
"Gahh. . . Fine, I might as well spill the beans, anyways I'll still have to tell you all everything later on." Emily grumbled and threw her hands up in a surrendering sign.
Everyone agreed that Emily and Carly should go take a short bath first before continuing on with the conversation, everyone split ways and Emily went with Carly while the three guys went to the meeting room once more to wait, soon the girls are done and they were standing outside of the meeting room about to enter.
They strolled in and took a seat but this time there was an extra seat between Ryder and Alvin so Emily could sit there comfortably while telling them the whole story. Everyone was now fully concentrated on Emily waiting for her to explain.
"Okay. . . Where should I start?"
