Chapter 18

"Are we currently on a date?"

Emily's voice was soft but clear as crystal, Alvin looked towards her and tilted his head to the side as of he was confused about certain things.

"Didn't I say that we were going out on an ice cream date? So naturally, this is, of course, a date." He replied matter-of-factly.

After hearing his reply, Emily felt like she was cheated by him once again, where she thought it was just a casual hangout and wanted to use it as a chance to finish the mission but who knew that things did not play out as she had expected, furthermore turning it into a date.

"You lied to me!" She grunted out.

"Nope I did not lie, you just misunderstood me." His eyes were twinkling with mischief and a playful smile hovered his lips.

"Fine, you baka!" (Baka means idiot in Japanese) Even though Emily just called Alvin an idiot and seemed like she was truly angry at him, she couldn't help but giggle at his playfulness.

Alvin's P.O.V

All good things come to an end, the sky was quickly turning dark indicating that night was about to befall upon us. I took the picnic basket in a hand and the mat in the other while Emily was already a few steps ahead of me slowly heading back to the car. Once we reached the car, I packed everything neatly into the trunk of the car. We've got in and I drove us back to the city while Emily fell into a deep slumber in her seat.

While we were on the way back, fat blobs hit the windshield hard sticking for a moment before rolling down towards oblivion, the constant thrumming of the rain could be heard when it landed against the roof of the car, it was followed by a loud thunderous boom indicating that the rain was getting heavier by the minute. As the sound of thunder went off, from the corner of my eye I could see that Emily curled herself up into a ball on her seat and she was mumbling something over and over again.

"F-father. . . No. . No. . Please. . . No. . " Even though it was only mumbling to others but due to my werewolf hearing, I am able to hear it clearly as though she was just saying it right beside my ear. Once I heard what she was mumbling, my expression hardened and my heart ached. It seemed as though something bad happened to her before and it definitely has something to do with her dad.

Eric my wolf finally spoke after a long time.

Eric: Al, we need to let her know that she is our mate soon.

Alvin: I know but we can't rush things, I don't want to scare her off.

Eric: Alright just make sure she isn't hurt, if you know what I mean.

As Eric and I are connected, I obviously know what he means, I will surely make sure Emily is well protected not only against strangers but family as well as long as they touch a single strand of hair on her, they will surely bear the brunt of beating from my wolf and me.

We were finally back but I wasn't sure where her house is so I have been driving around the neighborhood in circles waiting for her to wake up, not long after Emily finally woke up.

"W-where are we?" She asked groggily while rubbing her eyes and scratching her head.

"Morning princess, where do you live? I am now driving around the neighborhood as I am unsure of where you stay." In her half awaken state she gave me an address and went into a daze.

In about a minute I've reached the address she gave me, I looked out to see a huge mansion and was honestly quite shocked by the sight, her house is actually a little off the main road and if I remember correctly, I heard my dad telling me to stay away from this place as the people staying in it are extremely dangerous. My dad is one of the topmost feared alpha in the world and for him to say that I can't imagine just how dangerous the people staying in it are. Emily realized that we've reached and got out of the car waving me goodbye before heading in, my brain was still trying to process what just happened, how can Emily be staying in such a dangerous place. . . He shook his head and tried to regain his composure and think things through logically, maybe the past owners were the dangerous ones and they have already moved out, Emily is indeed a new girl and all so maybe their family simply just bought over the house. . . Yeah, that must be it, but somehow not all pieces of the puzzle fit together. Such as the scene earlier with Emily mumbling those things and all, my eyes darkened, maybe Emily might be in danger. . . What if the dangerous person my dad has been talking about is actually Emily's father.

My brain was now in a frenzy, currently, I have too little information I have to go back to the pack house and see what other information I am able to get and maybe I can send someone to go investigate and dig deeper.

I started the car and hurried back.

Kaylin's P.O.V

Once the mission ended, I was ordered to send the item that father wants back. Normally such an issue never once occurred as Kelly and I are known to be always together no matter missions or even just for a meal. Walking up the stairs while making my room to the 'heart' I started feeling like something wasn't right as though someone was behind me without my knowledge, my senses were normally spot on but as I turned around to see who was following me, I was met with nothing. I turned back and continued walking up the stairs to the room where father normally is, once I pushed opened the door and entered, a pair of arms grabbed me from behind and a piece of cloth with some substance was put over my mouth and nose, I tried to squirm out of the person's hold but due me being caught off guard, I wasn't able to react in time and he or she has gotten the upper hand. I felt the lack of oxygen hitting me hard and had no choice but to breathe and the substance on the cloth entered my body causing me to slowly lose feelings in my limbs.

"Master what should we do with her now?"

That was the last thing I heard before darkness consumed me and I lost consciousness.
