Weird Grandfathers...

Xiulan looked at the fully grown summer vegetable in the start of summer and wondered just how they grew that much in less than ten days. She knew that effect of spiritual qi water is extremely good but she didn't expect a single drop to work for that long.

She couldn't even continue to smile when she thought of how she wanted to drop a whole bottle of spiritual qi water in the bucket of seeds while soaking.

While she was contemplating over how should she sale these grown rice, soybean, sweet potato, and corn.

As much as she remembers, the crops of corn were given by the system while others were all bought from the market.

"Master, you are not allowed to use more than required spiritual qi water of else the crops will increase in size so much that you won't be able to explain how." Alvina's voice rang in her ears and she nodded when she noticed the effect of a single drop.

The crops were all large sized and compared to the crops she has seen in the plantations around; she knew if they grew more bigger then it will cause a ruckus. They should keep this away from the plantations around.

"Junior sister?" Wu Che looked at the girl standing in front of the now fully grown crops and wondered over what this sister of his is thinking. This girl is magical but somethings should be kept under the wraps no matter what. He noticed the growth of the plants and knows that this is because of spiritual qi but if someone tried to give so much spiritual qi to something, their life force decreases and therefore the vitality too decreases in the body.

While this junior sister looked pretty alright, he sensed some kind of change in the aura of hers. She is cultivating but her cultivation level has not been increasing which he understands since the bottle neck of every level in tier is difficult and this difficulty keep increasing with tiers and levels.

He noticed how she doesn't care when the people who she met no more than two weeks ago which shows her trust but also, how innocent she can be.

"Senior brother." Xiulan said his name and nodded her head looking at the handsome youth. She never truly noticed how this guy looked but then, assassins are only allowed to noticed the one that they are going to assassinate otherwise nobody is allowed to see or be seen by an assassin.

Xiulan looked at the extremely vigilant and still a little underweight Weicheng making his way to them and smiled as the little guy looked very scholarly in the outfit chosen by his grandfather.

Since the time Weicheng has changed and turned much better in health, grandfather chu has started pampering the little child in more ways then one. Every cloth of his is brought by grandfather chu and even a little mistake is not allowed when taking care of this little child.

She smiled a little more noticing how Weicheng's eyes widened at the site of crops and was about to run to see the garden behind their house in which she has grown some fruit crops.

She stopped him before he run back to the house and said "We will check the house later but first we have to see if the crops are completely grown to be taken out to sell."

Even though, she knows that they are ready, she still should get the two elders and senior brother to check.

"Junior sister, I will go and tell master and grandfather chu to come here." Wu Che spoke and left to reach the house.

In less than twenty minutes, both the elders came running hurriedly and it was very funny watching the two elders who had grown a little more fat on their stomach which wobbled a little as they moved. It was a funny site looking at the two elders making their way to the crops.

She smiled at them but rather than returning her smile, the two pushed her aside and checked the crops while gasping a little too many times which caused Wu Che to laugh a little but he closed his mouth as the elders glared at him.

He looked at the situation and knew that he shouldn't laugh or say anything to the two elders right now.

Grandfather An went close to the crops and checked the leaves before picking one and eating it causing Weicheng to look at him weirdly. Grandfather An is so hungry that he is eating leaves… wow, I would never eat leaves after eating elder sister's food. My poor sister food just got insulted…

Weicheng's thoughts were totally unrelated to what was happening when grandfather An sighed and grandfather Chu moved and ate a little of that as well.

They both nodded at each other and said "We have decided!"

"Little Che, Xiulan, from now on, we will start constructing a fence around the plantation and to make sure nobody notices what is happening inside fences. We will make them higher enough to not let anyone see anything inside. Nobody should be allowed here." Grandfather An said while grandfather chu nodded and looked solemnly at the two.

Xiulan thought of what grandfather An said and nodded. It is never wrong to be more precautious, after all better safe than sorry.

She looked at the crops again to wonder what should be done now.

"I'll get two ox carts or horse cart." Grandfather chu said looking at the crop.

They decided to take 50 catties of rice while around 15 catties each of others with them.

Grandfather An wanted to follow them as he too used to do this before becoming an official in the court.

He worked hard to reach the level he was at and he doesn't regret anything he did. He retired because he wanted to and he is happy with the life he has now. He looked at his granddaughter who was happily ready to pull the cart with her and smiled noticing her happily ready for work.

This granddaughter of his is a puzzle to even him. He watches her smiling and laughing like a child but still he has seen her mysteriously smiling at the sky as if finding something different in the dark sky. She speaks things that doesn't belong to the world. She has things that are totally different from the world.

He wants to see her truly happy for once without the darkness that lurks behind those crystal-clear eyes. He has noticed how she has beautiful blue eyes that turns a little violet every time she fights. She also has that ability…

The ability that took lives of so many people in his family.

Xiulan looked at the market and noticed people running towards them in astonishment.

"Is this old crop?"

"but it looks so fresh!"

"How much catties are you selling?"

There were some hollers that she heard when every villager was pushed aside and a man with a cook's cap came ahead and said "I am head chef wang from Wind & clouds restaurant. I would like to buy whatever there is on your cart."

Xiulan looked at him and said "Sure, you can buy. 10 copper coin each catty of rice, 15 copper coin each catty of corn, and 8 copper coin each catty of sweet potato as well as soybeans."

The head chef was astonished at once to hear such prices but when he noticed the sizes and time of season when no vegetables are available, he nodded and said "Alright, you can bring your carts to the restaurant, I'll pay you there only."

He moved and showed them the way to the restaurant which Xiulan and Wu Che followed behind him and saw a beautiful tall building designed with glass and knew that this is one of the costliest materials of this time and as well as a new invention. The restaurant overall seemed pretty but still far behind the modern decorations and architects.

The head chef was expecting to see some surprized or greedy faces but the girl just showed a simple admiring gaze which returned to solemn as he started to use calculus when she told him the amount to check if she is right or not. Even though they are rich money should be used with extreme money saving capabilities.

Xiulan stood waiting till the head chef wang calculated and when he did, he looked at her astonishingly which she found extremely boring.

He paid them and told them to bring more vegetables to them directly to which Wu Che nodded and moved to pick the carts and moved to leave for home.

They have earned more than two taels of silver today.

It was an extremely good start of life.

Wu Che smiled at Xiulan who moved and finally both of them left. Today they got small carts because of not going early but next time, they will go super early to get a big one. The better the cart, the more vegetables can be brought to the town.
