Alchemy

Xiulan sighed as grandfather An sat in front of her with a stubborn face asking her to make some wine dishes which he should not take as it will affect his health a little badly but grandfather An denies any compromise.

"Grandfather, I won't make food for anyone but Weicheng if you kept this behaviour up." Xiulan said as she got up while listening to her Wu Che picked grandfather An and took him to the side room to talk to him while grandfather Chu followed with hurried steps.

Xiulan smiled as she listened to the noises of furniture breaking and calming voices with restless shouts of grandfather Chu shouting at Grandfather An for his behaviour resounded in the hall.

Xiulan looked at the table of food and the gluttonous face of the four males, two younger and two elders forgetting all manners and fighting for food while picking a little for her every now and then.

Grandfather An would eat three bites picking vegetables out while placing one piece of meat in her bowl every now and then. Weicheng would pick all the pretty looking rose cut vegetables and would place them in her bowl telling how beautiful people like his elder sister eats beautiful things. Little jerk is becoming more and more sly when throwing away vegetables.

Xiulan smiled as she looked at Wu Che who would smile now and then looking at grandfather An and would eat little as if in thoughts though his speed of eating cannot be determined as his plates were also empty in a very little while.

"junior sister, I think we should sell vegetables somewhere else today and should also buy some new clothes for little Weicheng. He is growing fast." Wu Che said as they collected vegetables to sell in the morning.

"Sure." Xiulan said as she helped place them.

"Elder sister!!" little Weicheng came running huffing and puffing with his clothes all in disarray.

"I thought you left without me!" Weicheng puffed the words as he puckered his lips at his elder sister.

Xiulan smiled and pulled him towards her to correct his clothes and brushed his hairs with her hands while Wu Che smiled at Weicheng when he waved at him.

"Elder sister, you made them, today?" Weicheng looked at Xiulan with so much expectations that Xiulan smiled and pulled his cheeks causing the little guy to pout his lips in irritation but still allowing her to do as she pleases.

"Yes, I made them for our little Wei." Xiulan pulled out a little bag of sticky sweet balls of rice with little colour added making them look coloured pearls.

Weicheng took one ball and ate with relish as he held out one for Wu Che who took from his hand and ate feeling a little spiritual qi wafting off from the ball.

Wu Che looked at Xiulan and said "Use less energy from now on and don't make food by alchemy anymore."

Xiulan looked at Wu Che and shared a look of understanding while nodding her head.

She has been practicing alchemy from a little while and learnt that food can be used to breakthrough as well. There used be chefs who could bring catastrophe from their dishes only. Xiulan learned some way to do that for her dishes but her dishes are only of grade one right now causing only a little spiritual effect though this single dish can help one to reach tier 2 from tier 1 level 5. Lower than tier 1 level 4 cannot eat these balls.
