Chapter 18: Meal At The Inn

Noctis and Takara are inside the inn on the 10th Floor of the Novice Stage. 

They drank koshu, or Japanese white wine, paired with a good hearty Japanese feast of sushi ,gyoza, yakitori , kashipan, yakisoba, takoyaki, and tonkatsu. 

They ate and drank on a complete Japanese dining set. 

They ignored the envious looks of the ordinary players, who cast looks at them, while murmuring to each other in hushed tones. 

"Isn't that Player Zero, who topped the charts in opening tests? And landed in the top 1 ranking for Novices?"

"I saw him easily beat up Joe Franco, the Guild Leader of the Scraper Guild. It was a rare sight to see, an overpowered newbie who just casually tossed aside Joe Franco as if Joe was just an ant to be stepped on." 

"Isn't that girl the multi-elemental mage Takara Elric? I saw player Zero rescue that attractive girl and got her out of the clutch of Joe Franco. Scared and intimidated the shit out of Joe, rather." 

"You're right man. Damn, what I'd give to get that girl in my Guild. She'd be a great addition in battle, and I bet she's also good in bed." 

"Mind your words. Those two might overhear us. Besides, even if she does join your Guild, why would she, when she can now afford to go Guildless? Why would she settle for a second or third rate Guild when she can apply for membership in an elite Guild? I mean, look at her rankings for Novices." 

" I guess you got a point. Her clothes, and even her weapon looks expensive. I bet she's now one high maintenance girl."

"I wish we had the same luck as her to get noticed, man." 

The two couldn't help but overhear the entire conversation of a group of men and women who ate and drank at a table next to theirs. 

Noctis notices Takara  get up and is about to confront those in the next table. 

He had to grab Takara's arm to prevent her from causing a scene. 

"Takara? Don't confront them. It's not worth it if you caused a scene. Who knows if the Guild they're in turned out to be a subsidiary Guild of some Elite Guild. We don't want to run into trouble early on." 

He reasoned with Takara. 

"Did you hear what one man there said about me? He fantasized about getting me laid in bed. How dare he? I want to see him get a taste of his own medicine. And besides, aren't we already in trouble with the Necromancer Guild for scaring the shits out of Joe Franco? "

Takara shot back. 

"Takara, relax. You don't just bruteforce your way into a fight all the time. And don't go causing fights that you're unsure of winning. Sometimes, using the background information of those who anger you to your advantage is a viable solution. Let me handle this. So stay put."

Noctis continued to reason with Takara. 

" But my dear, "

Takara tried to cut Noctis off. 

" But you want to teach that guy a lesson? You really are hard-headed and hot-headed like what my sources said about you, my dear. Fine, but we'll do it my way. Watch, imitate me and learn." 

Noctis said softly. 

"Go ahead. Show me what you got, Mr. Masked Elite Guy." 

Takara said with her eyebrows raised, as if to question Noctis. 

Noctis looked at the information on the system. 

He immediately took note of the background information of those drinking and dining in the table next to them. 

The information flashed in the system. 

"Ooh. Juicy information. Are you seeing what I'm seeing, my dear Takara?" 

"Yes, my love. So you want me to do further digging around to uncover more about their background information, and mess with them in whatever way I want?" 

"That depends if you still want payback. Let me remind you though, that paying attention to them isn't worth it. They're not even close to Elite players with mediocre stats, and their skill levels are just so-so." 

Takara calmed down at Noctis' words, and in the end, decided to let it slide. 

She sat down and resumed eating and drinking. 

" That's good. Not worth paying attention when you could easily crush them like the ants they are. "

"Thanks for the surprise earlier at the Blacksmith's Shop." 

"You're always welcome, my dear. I only want you to have the best." 

Noctis then touched Takara's hand, and kissed it. 

Takara smiled warmly at Noctis, reciprocating Noctis' sweet efforts by also looking back at Noctis. 

"You seemed surprised earlier at the fact that the elite blacksmith who manned the VIP corner of the Blacksmith shop is actually Yu" 

Noctis immediately put a hand on Takara's mouth. 

"Like the guy said to you earlier, that information shouldn't be divulged carelessly. Let's finish eating, so we can have a dance in bed afterwards." 

Noctis whispered to Takara. 

They ate and drank in silence until they felt full, not minding the murmurs the ordinary gamers casting glances at them and talking to each other in hushed tones. 

After they finished eating, Noctis and Takara went up to the VIP section of the Inn's bedroom. 

They looked around in the VIP section. There's privacy in the VIP section, as there's a bed in each room. 

Noctis motioned for Takara to come closer. 

Takara threw herself into Noctis's arms, and the two started kissing passionately. 

A few minutes passed, and they already started undressing each other while kissing. 

When they finished removing each other's underwear, Noctis sat on the bed. 

Takara immediately understood, and sat on Noctis' lap.
