Chapter 38

What is the deadliest weapon in mankind?

Is it the hydrogen bomb, which is said to be the most destructive weapon of all?

Is it the Metal Storm, a machine gun that is said to fire 1,000,000 rounds per minute or more?

Is it the Barret .50 caliber, a sniper which can be used to kill a person 2600 meters away by piercing through a wall?

Or is it a safe and reliable pistol?

They are all wrong. The deadliest weapon is the first weapon to have ever been created. People started imitating their first weapon and eventually gave rise to all weapons that will ever exist in the history of humanity.

So, what is the first weapon?

Is it a sword? Is it a spear? Is it something a primitive as a stick or stone? Is it a sling shot? A bow? These are some of the earliest weapons wielded by humanity, but they are no longer wielded today in the modern age.

But one weapon has been wielded by humanity since they evolved from other animals. A weapon used since the dawn of time. A weapon that has been used in the past, in the modern day and will still continue to be used in the future.

A weapon that will never go extinct. A weapon crafted by the finest smiths of mother nature itself. Molded into perfection. It is the fist. A weapon made up of billions of cells with over 200 different types of cells among them. A weapon no human can craft or replicate exactly, the fist.

Humans has always been one of the most fragile species in history. Animals have claws, teeth, talons, furs, venom and many other things to protect themselves. Yet, humans now rule the world under their iron fist. They achieved it with intelligence and wisdom.

But how did the very first humans did not go into extinction? They used their hands and fist to beat an animal to death. The same behavior can still be observed among apes and chimps. They wield simple weapons like sticks or stones, but they favor their God-given weapon, the fist.

That is what the firekeeper was now using against the demon Chthon. It is something no higher species will ever understand. They held blessings of magic from the moment they came into existence.

Chthon will never understand how that fist managed to land him for he has never seen one used in such way. It was simple. There was no form of magic imbedded upon her fists. It was pure and simple.

"W-What is this?", Chthon asked angrily as matter of arcane exploded all around him.

A left hook to his ribcage rendered him absolutely speechless. Despite not having a physical body, he still feels pain all the same. Moreover, she injected him with some of her own magic to make him incapable of going out of the physical form for a period of time.

She then grabbed his two horns and rewarded the demon's groin with her right knee. He could not bear it and was literally blown away.

She teleported to him once again. Jabs, hooks, kicks and punches, everything on the human body was capable of was put to display.

And then he tried punching her with perhaps out of pride despite knowing he is outclassed in close combat.

Of course, he wrapped his fists in scarlet energy. Strength was all he had for there was no technique there. It was pure unfiltered violence of a dimensional demon.

She ducked under the demon's straight punch and greeted his chin with an uppercut. He started flying involuntarily at this point.

She then teleported right above him and entertained him another trick called downward roundhouse kick. He crashed straight into the 'floor'. The demon was hopelessly outclassed in physical combat.

By the time he came out, he was looking embarrassed and angry at the same time. Both of his horns have now broken off.

"How dare you! Lowly slave!" By now, Wanda's entire soul was covered in red. He was preparing for a big move that will perhaps obliterate her disciple's soul. She teleported on top of him once again.

Chthon had many strengths, but it was clear the speed wasn't one of them. She responded his 'enthusiasm' with a traditional rear leg axe kick. His head was now downwards to the point where it looked like he was kneeling to her.

"Thine face not worth sunburning does exceptionally well when facing upon the floor filled with mine shoeprints."

The demon had no retort for it yet. She gave him some time to think. All these years, it has always been him shouting at the streets. He had no response when the street starts shouting back at him.

"You lowly whore, it will take more than that to kill the lord of Chaos!", he started but he no longer had power to back it up. His essence in this universe was starting to disappear. Every time her fist connects with his body, she would inject an ounce of her magic within.

It was like poison in the veins of a person. It slowly eats away until it kills the victim. Now, the demon was subject to that poison.

"Thou art not worth the dust which the rude wind blows in mine face." It might sound bad but she was starting to have fun insulting the demon. The chance to insult a mighty being is a once in a lifetime event that does not come easily. She will try to make it worth its best.

"What do you think a demon lord is?! Remember the fact that I will always come back. Count the days before I descend upon this plane for you will always live a life of fear!"

"Thou art not a lord but a lump of foul deformity.

Methink'st thou art a general offense, and every man should beat thee.

Thou abilities are too infant-like for thee to even thinking of harming me.

Oh... sodden-witted lord, thou hast more brain than I have in mine elbow.

Do not despair for at least thine tongue outvenoms all the worms of Lordran.

I should beat thee some more but that should infect my hands.

I should insult thee some more but that should infect my brains.

Out of my sight, foul abomination for thou does infect mine eyes."

By now, he was starting to crack as if he was dying but his hate-filled eyes told a completely different story.

"Firekeeper, was it? I will remember that name and I will be back.", said the demon as his body finally disappeared alongside all the demons he summoned.

The last she saw was those hateful glares while the last thing Chthon heard was the sound of laughter filling the soul of the Scarlet Witch.
