26 Chapter 026: Longing

"They're in the reception room, and Iruka is giving them a lesson."

When Charles heard the word "lesson," his eyebrows raised in curiosity. "What happened?"

Ginny looked a bit embarrassed as she explained, "There was a close call when a grenade exploded, nearly injuring Sasuke. Iruka is giving them a post-battle analysis."

Upon hearing that Sasuke wasn't hurt, Charles didn't say much more.

In the anime, Iruka taught lower-ranked ninjas in the academy. Even though he couldn't defeat the two of them, Iruka was still a chuunin and their teacher.

At that moment, Charles took out a notebook from his pocket and said, "Ginny, this is th healing bath formula Cross gave me. Test it out to see if it works, and if it does, set up a room as the recovery area."

After receiving the healing bath formula from Charles and briefly reviewing it, Ginny replied, "No problem, I'll get it set up as soon as possible."

Just then, Cross appeared with Wesley. It seemed they had already established a connection, as they recognized each other rather quickly.

"Charles, the mission to protect Wesley is now over. Thank you for your help," Cross said as he pulled out the key of Charles's Porsche Cayenne and handed it over. "Wesley and I are heading back, so I'm returning your car key."

Looking at Cross offering the car key, Charles quickly said, "Cross, you can have the car. It'll be convenient for you to take your son home."

Regarding the Porsche, which now had a distinct sewer rat smell, Charles had no interest in keeping it and handed it over to Cross without hesitation.

Hearing Charles's words, Cross didn't refuse and bid his farewell before leaving. After all, a Porsche Cayenne was worth only a few tens of thousands of dollars, and neither of them attached much importance to it.

Not long after Cross left, Charlie and his team finished cleaning up the room and also said their goodbyes to Cross and his group.

"Ginny, go get Iruka and the others. We'll tidy up a bit and then head to the Continental Hotel tonight."

Because they didn't know if the assassins might strike again in the early morning, Charles planned to take everyone to the Continental Hotel for the night. This would also give them a chance to resolve the bounty issue the next day.

It wasn't about being afraid of an attack; it just didn't make sense to stay up all night for this when there is other solution.

Soon, Ginny came back with Iruka and the others.

"Good evening, Master Charles," the three of them greeted Charles as they came out.

Seeing Sasuke before him, Charles recalled the previous Sasuke fragment and his current collection of ten ninja summoning scrolls.

He felt an impulse to draw rewards, but he suppressed it. After exchanging greetings, Charles instructed them, "You three get ready. We'll be staying at the Continental Hotel tonight and handling the bounty situation tomorrow."

After quickly grabbing a few changes of clothes, the group drove to the Continental Hotel. Along the way, Sasuke glanced at Ginny inside the car with a look of hesitation, but he ultimately didn't say anything.

Without encountering any assassins on the road, they arrived safely at the Continental Hotel. As they entered the hotel, several assassins were sitting in the executive corridor. Seeing Charles and his group's arrival, their gazes held curiosity and greed.

This combination of a woman, child, and an Asian made them seem like a group of vulnerable individuals. Even though they had heard that previous attempts had failed, they were still confident in themselves.

Their eyes held an aggressive intention as they looked at the group, except when their gazes met Charles's. Then their pupils contracted

.

Charles's reputation still instilled fear in them. They couldn't kill him, but trading the lives of the others for a bounty seemed like a good idea.

Charles didn't pay much attention to the gazes of the others. One reason was his belief in his own strength, and the other was his trust that these people would follow the rules of the Continental Hotel.

Approaching the hotel reception desk, Charles Doyle took out five gold coins from his pocket and placed them on the counter, saying, " please check us in for five adjacent rooms."

At this moment, Ginny leaned gently toward Charles and spoke softly, "Charles, won't you consider four rooms?"

Charles didn't respond to Ginny. Instead, he reiterated to the counter, "Five rooms"

Seeing that Charles wasn't taking the bait, Ginny also found it uninteresting and remained silent. After receiving the room keys from, she led the way upstairs.

Seeing Ginny return to her usual demeanor, Charles smiled silently, choosing not to comment. He picked up his room key and headed upstairs as well.

"Boring!" Sasuke muttered sarcastically, then picked up a room key from the counter and went upstairs.

Iruka shrugged and said to Lee, "Let's go, Lee. We should go upstairs and rest too."

Taking the room keys for the last two rooms, they went upstairs together.

In his hotel room, Charles's first order of business was to take a shower. After all, he had spent time in a car with sewer rats and then engaged in a bout of bloodshed. He was full of blood and dust.

After freshening up, Charles changed into his pajamas and was about to enter the system interface when the doorbell rang.

"Secretary Jin, you really don't forget to think about me all the time," Charles quipped.

Opening the door, he found it was not Ginny as he had thought, but Sasuke Uchiha.

"What's the matter? Come in and tell me."

Sasuke wasn't polite either; he walked straight into the room and found a chair to sit on.

Charles glanced at the corridor, closed the door when he saw there was no one else, and then asked, "Sasuke, is there something you need from me?"

Looking at the man before him, Sasuke bit his lip and said, "Lord Charles, can you resurrect my parents in this world?"

Hearing Sasuke's words, Charles was taken aback for a moment.

As he gazed at the young man, he suddenly realized that this version of Sasuke was just a child—a 12-year-old child, to be exact.

Even considering the time he had spent in this world, he was still just a 13-year-old child.

And he had experienced the massacre of his clan only a few years ago.

Hearing Sasuke's words, Charles was moved. He stepped forward, ruffled Sasuke's hair, and then sighed, "Sasuke, I can't make any promises."

"Maybe I'll be able to bring your people to this world soon, or it might take a long time before I can bring them over."

Sasuke was momentarily surprised by Charles's actions but didn't flinch. His eyes were filled with tears of hope.

He missed his parents and his clan, except for his older brother, Itachi Uchiha.

Hearing Charles's words, he immediately got up, knelt down in a formal Japanese style, and said, "Please, Lord Charles."

After speaking, Sasuke got up and quickly left Charles's room.
