After the Activation of The Spirit Matrix, many strong Hollows began to appear so Layla fled the scene. Hopping along the sand leaving small paw prints behind Layla looked at the number in the lower left-hand corner of her screen.

This number showed how many souls were required to reach the next Hollow Rank. However, it was also Layla's biggest oppressor at the moment.

After traveling for what she thought was a sufficient distance away Layla stopped under a tree, well a tree isn't an accurate description as all that was left was bare silver branches.

'I don't have any combat experience, and even then I don't have much combat power. All I can rely on are my small teeth and my dull claws.' Looking around at her surroundings there were a few small hollow critters that scattered about. They looked just like roaches yet they had a Hollow mask and there was a small Hollow hole between their wings.

"A soul is a Soul right?" Mustering up her courage Layla ran across the sand chasing a critter until she finally caught one. Internally cringing she bit down on the Roach killing it instantly, yet instead of puss and guts what entered her mouth was pure unfiltered energy.

"Mmmmm…" Unconsousisly she let out a slight moan as the invigorating energy filled her body.

"It seems I was right, a Soul is a Soul." Quickly Layla turned into an exterminator scurrying around the desert devouring the small insect-like Hollows until she reached her requirement for promotion.

After devouring the last soul a sea of reishi converged as Layla began her evolution process, He cute Rabbit like mask grew larger and more ferocious, Her body grew to the Size of a small car as her paws grew claws that seemed to be at least 9 inches long with a dangerous glint. Her Spiritual Pressure which determines the overall combat strength of any and all individuals came crashing down on the area.

The Bugs that were once her nourishment were crushed under her newfound power, dispersing returning to reishi.

*Powers Learned*

-Acidic Touch: The title describes it perfectly! If you touch a Human-like creature they will experience extreme pain.

-Garganta: Tear open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds to travel between them.

-Ultra High-Speed Regeneration: Injuries heal almost instantly! Can regenerate from a single cell.

Promotion Requirements: High-Level Spiritual Energy, 100 Souls (Hollow Grande Level or Higher), 1 Evolution, and 10 Human Souls.

Layla was over the moon due to her promotion yet when she looks at the requirements for the next promotion she felt like she had been cheated on by a long time lover.

"ZUEX! What is this?" Layla screamed internally as these requirements were too damn High!

"Did you think gaining power was gonna be as easy as eating those little bugs for the rest of your life? Hollows have endless potential but that comes at the price of being everyone's enemy at the lower levels and Feared by all at the higher Levels! Why do you think there are endless Gillian Rank Hollows yet so few Adjucha and above?!" Zeux's voice contained a hint of mockery as he bashed Layla without restriction.

Layla felt that what he said made sense but there were still many unanswered questions. "What is Spirit Energy?"

"Spirit Energy is the energy that is stored within the soul which determines overall combat strength while Spiritual Pressure is the force that energy stored within exerts. These are divided into 9 Levels: Low, Moderate, High, Great, Immense, Vast, Massive, Crushing, and Overwhelming. High-Level Spiritual Energy is the Average level of a Gillian, while Vasto Lorde usually have Massive Spirit Energy." Zuex answered with gusto as Layla looked through her memories of this vast world.

Lifting her Large paw she flexed it slightly. 'Right now my Spirit energy is in the Moderate Category. There are 3 ways to increase one's Spiritual Energy: 1) Learning to control one's Spiritual Body. As a Hollow, my Physical body is also my Spiritual Body so the better I can control my body the more powerful my Spirit Energy will become. 2) Putting oneself in Life or Death scenarios. 3) Removing the limit placed on Soul Reapers and Hollows by using a method to remove the barrier between them.'

'I should head to the world of the living first to see what time frame I am in as well as collect the human souls.'

Raising Her paw Layla exerted her spirit energy causing the world to split as a hole was torn, walking through the tear she arrived at an undisclosed location.

All around were traditional Japanese style buildings as humans walked to and fro. Layla stood in the air baffled as she looked around. 'This isn't Japan because I recognize that Hill anywhere. I'm in the Soul Society.' Her skull-like mask couldn't reflect the terror currently in her heart but it was definitely there. The Soul Society was home to the 13 Court Guard Squads that defend the world of the Living and the Soul Society by purifying Hollows. They are basically a Military force, each Squad is commanded by a powerful soul reaper with the Title of Captain. Captain's Spiritual pressure must be at least at the Immense Level in order for them to command the multitude of subordinates under them and defend the two realms.

'Lucky I arrived on the outskirts of the Soul Society, or should I say the Slums. I can gather information while also collecting the 10 human Souls needed to Evolve.'
