Sixth Floor and Hostess of Fertility

Just as he expected, Nox breezed through the first four floors slaughtering any Goblins, Kobolds and Dungeon Lizards that appeared on his Mind Pulse radar.

The drops were surprisingly high, it made him think he might get the Luck development ability on rank up but unlike Bell, he wouldn't need it to get into spicy situations with girls, he could do that on his own just fine.

He got quite a number of kills in the fifth floor. The spawn rate of monsters was much higher than the floors before and even though the monsters were of the same species, they were a fair bit stronger but Nox still managed just fine and even took the initiative to take out every single monster he detected.

As soon as he entered the sixth floor however, he could tell that it would be different as he walked through the labyrinthine corridors, creating a mental map with Mind Pulse, Nox came across his first new enemy, a Frog Shooter.

When Nox entered its range, the monster shot out its tongue like a bullet. Nox was surprised by its great speed and couldn't dodge so he guarded with his shield at an angle to deflect the force of the impact.

But it didn't work, in his haste, Nox had forgotten one key characteristic of the Frog Shooter's tongue, it stuck. So he was still forced to take the full brunt of the attack flinging him of his feet and then dragging him back suddenly causing whiplash.

However, seeing this as his chance, Nox held out his sidesword in front of him as he was dragged towards the monster at high speed by his shield and thus used the force to stab clean through the Frog Shooter.

It was a quick battle but a very enlightening one.

'I admit. I was feeling cocky knowing all my awesome skills and magic but like Eina-san said. I never should have underestimated the dungeon. Although my growth will be fast, I'm still weak!' Thought Nox as he sat on the ground with a tremendous gratitude to Eina for it was her advice that led to his survival, it was her warning that kept him alert enough despite his cockyness but unfortunately, the dungeon wasn't through with him yet, as five War Shadows were "born" from the walls nearby.

Shooting to his feet, Nox quickly stepped back and fired his attack magic Mind Missile with three continuous shots before dispersing the magic circle. Now there was only one War Shadow left and he planned to test its abilities for future reference. Nox took out the others with magic so he wouldn't face as much danger doing this.

As he exchanged blows with the monster, Nox quickly realized that he had made a good decision by taking out the others with magic. The War Shadow was both fast and strong at least when compared to him.

Nox tried to sense the flow of Mind within it only to tell it was indeed far greater and more complex than those of mere Goblins and Kobolds, at least when compared to those of the upper floors. He still managed to defeat it without to much trouble but only due to his Mind Cycle and the fight being a one on one.

Needless to say, such results were impossible for most if not all newbies. For a adventurer who just received his falna to take out a War Shadow by himself was already quite a miracle. Still, Nox was left unsatisfied at his lacking strength and began stalking the sixth floor.

Much more careful than before, he resorted to ambushes, blitz attacks and his Mind missile far more often but due to sch tactics, he was able to tread the sixth floor uncontested by the monsters there steadily building his combat experience and leaving one ore two monsters standing from the initial onslaught so he could practice and get used to their movements.

A couple of hours later, Nox already had to pause a couple of times after making sure it was safe and switch out one of his spells with Item Box to store his spoils that were starting to weight him down.

He decided to call it a day and left the dungeon. His armor was in tatters due to suffering some attacks from the monsters since he tried to take on increasingly difficult situations without resorting to attack magic but he was satisfied with his gains material and otherwise.

Since he had gotten lucky with the Jack Bird, he decided to save his spoils. He might find a use for the magic stones later and after he learns all those crafting jobs, Drop Items will be needed to make cool stuff so he decided to keep them since he wasn't short on money.

He dropped by to see Eina and report on his experience in the dungeon and how he felt the difference between the fifth and sixth floors. After he made the report, he then honestly and gratefully thanked her.

"Thank you very much for your care and advice Eina-san! It was invaluable! I love you!" Naturally, he wouldn't be Nox if he didn't slip in a flirt or two when talking to a beauty. Nox then left the guild building and returned to the Twilight Manor.

Eina had a gentle smile when she was thanked so earnestly. The few adventurers that had her as their advisor requested a change since she was always nagging and teaching them about the dungeon. It was nice to have one's hard work be appreciated but what made her truly happy was that Nox had been helped by her advice.

Still, the last three words of Nox made her blush a bit and think.

'Well . . . He's quite cute isn't he . . .' While staring at the direction he left.

Back at the Twilight Manor, Nox removed his armor and looked at the pieces.

'Uh. Since I have some money, I should probably invest in some better gear. I thought it was fine but it's already in tatters I should upgrade anyway . . . Well, I'll think about it tomorrow, for now, let's enjoy a fine meal and some ale on the Hostess of Fertility.'

Nox's true goal, as a man of culture was not the food and drink however but the waitresses!

'Paradise of beauties, here I come!' Nox thought as he left the Loki Familia home in casual clothing.

He reached the pub soon enough and entered through the front doors. He was looking around the place seeing all the adventures being merry with their comrades, so many people of different races her singing, eating and drinking together.

A waitress greeted him, she was a female Elf with sky blue eyes and green hair. She was extremely beautiful with skin as white as snow as if a fairy making Nox wonder if he had wandered into a fairy tale. She was wearing the Hostess of Fertility uniform, a green above the knee dress with long puffed sleeves and a white collar with an orange bow, a slightly long half apron around her waist and headband as well as pair of brown boots over black stockings.

'Welcome to the Hostess of Fertility. Would you like to be seated?' She asked.

"Ah, yes please!" Nox answered and was guided to his seat by the elf.

As he sat down, he spoke to her again.

"Thank you! Can I have a menu, please?" He asked politely.

The waitress was pleasantly surprised at the manners considering adventures are usually quite course and rowdy. She responded affirmatively and left to get it.

But suddenly, he sensed an intense gaze with from someone with unknown intentions his instincts were quite sharp so he immediately turned towards the source.

It was a human girl with bluish gray hair that she kept tied with a small knot in a ponytail style. Her eyes were the same color as her hair and she has a light peachy colored smooth skin. She was also wearing the uniform of the Hostess of Fertility.

She blushed and quickly looked away but Nox managed to see her face clearly.

'Syr Flova! But what was that gaze? I feel like I'm forgetting an important detail about her . . . Oh well, I'll think about it later.'

But as he thought this in his head, the waitress that welcomed him returned.

"Here is your menu."

"Much obliged! May I have your name?" Nox smoothly asked. Obviously, he knew who she was but he couldn't call her by name without asking first.

"Ryuu Lion." She had been hit on a couple of times but since the other party was quite young and well mannered she saw no harm in giving him her name.

"Nox Lyros, a pleasure! I'm new in town, arrived just two days ago so I'm still getting used to the place and starting to know people!" Nox continued with a bright voice smoothly keeping the conversation going.

"I see. Nice to meet you as well and I hope your stay in the city is pleasant!"

"Thanks! I should probably let you get back to work now. I'll holler when I've decided on what to have!"

Ryuu gave a slight bow with a small but beautiful smile on her face and excused herself.
