Hunt For Evilus XXII

Inside the hollowed out collapsed part the pantry cave system, Nox held the inanimate corpse of a Juggernaut while pondering if he should stop things before they got any uglier.

Everyone was clearly getting out of control and Ais wrecking the Dungeon bad enough that a Juggernaut popped up was proof enough that she was not properly channeling at all even if she was doing far better than she would have if she had tried Avenger a couple of months ago.

The good and shady folks from the Hermes Familia were trapped and under risk of getting buried alive while Aisha was utterly lost in her bloodlust and undergoing a transformation Nox did not fully understand.

In the interest of fairness however, it was also true they both had valid reasons for the risks their were currently taking and not even he realized just how potent that Demis Spirit Enhancement that Olivas and Revis had could be.

'Still, the only ones in true danger so far are the Asfi and her "wards". Ais is doing great despite slipping a fair bit in terms of control while Aisha could still go on for a while and from what I can see, her transformation might give her some permanent benefits.' Nox thought to himself.

In Aisha's case, he was also quite confident in fixing any issue with her transformation as he was quite the expert in body modifications by now as he frequently used them and they now a transformation was actually his strongest trump card at the moment.

All things considered, Nox figured the situation was still under control, even if in the danger of slipping.

'I better help out my pals from Hermes' place first though.' He decided before phasing through the collapsed parts of the Dungeon and going in their direction.

With a devious smile on his face, he creeped up behind the Hermes Familia members whose focus was in the direction of the tunnel, to that wall of ruble behind them as, supposedly, nothing could come from there.

He waited until he was on top of them, almost in physical contact and then . . .

"'Sup guys!"

Lulune jumped away in fright, Mery dived away into the ground cowering while Thane the blonde elf along with Asfi instantly turned with a swing of their blades while Falgar raised his shield as a barrier between whoever sneaked up on them and the two frightened members who were vulnerable.

Nox phased through the blades and went right through Falgar causing chills in his body while saying.

"Chill out!" And then laughing at his terrible pun.

"Nox!?" All of them immediately recognized their friend with a sick sense of humor to pull that kind of prank in the current situation.

"Why are you here!? How did you get here!?" Asfi exclaimed, she was never able to keep her calm cool demeanour for long whenever Nox was around but this had to be a new record for how fast he had blade the blue haired beauty lose her composure.

"Why am I here? To look out for my people, the two your brought along with you all. As for how . . . Well, you know I never answer those kinds of questions." Nox casually responded to her.

"If you're here for your people then why are you coming to us? Not that we wouldn't appreciate your help of course." Falgar asked.

Nox's answer was quick, straightforward, and a bit brutally honest.

"You're too weak to even get close to any of the two battles occurring and with how violent they are getting, I wouldn't be surprised if this tunnel collapsed on top of your heads so I came to bring you out of her and far from the danger before coming back for my girls."

Lulune, despite the affirmation that they were smallfry being included in Nox's words, felt like she was hearing a heavenly choir that heralded the entry into paradise as she through herself at Nox with blinding speed, hugging his legs saying . . .

"Yes please! Take us away right now!"

Before she could further humiliate herself and molest Nox however, Asfi pulled her of a tossed her to the side like a used rag.

"Although the truth hurts, it is a fact that we are ill equipped to interfere in the current situation." She started.

"And as such, we would be grateful if you could provide extraction." Asfi tried to recover her cool and act as usual despite the fact that her heart threatened to beat out of her chest.

'My crush just popped out of nowhere to rescue me out of a dangerous situation when I had no way out! What kind of cliche plot is this!?' The blue haired beauty internally freaked out as her face slowly reddened due to embarrassment caused by her own thoughts.

'No! Be rational. Nox already said he came for his people, we are just an extra side concern that he wanted to get out of the way first.' Asfi tried to be rational like her usual self.

However, while she was quite sure her more rational analysis was right, it did nothing to deter the stupid butterflies in her stomach not did it make Nox look any less attractive and wonderful and capable and . . . Asfi's thought spiralled out of control yet again.

In the end, the only thing capable of shaking her out of her romance addled thoughts, was a spark to light up her true passion. Item making.

Nox had pulled out a strange disk that emanated a mysterious energy and immediately drew her vision and thoughts to it.
