The Archivist's Ploy: A Tale of One Against The World

Far above the horizon, beyond the clouds and the apocalyptic storms under it, hovered a yellow-haired old-looking man. His yellow eyes gave off a bright radiance, and countless books floated around him. Throughout history, the man was known by many names, (The Watcher - The Chronicler - The Historian - The Custodian - The Recordkeeper) But during this Era, he was known as The Archivist. The Archivist's perception inspected thousands of kilometers far and wide, Yet 'Nothing interesting is happening' His frustration grew 'What's the point of a worldwide perception if there's no apposite change to perceive?' 'The world has become mundane' 'And no one is doing anything about it' Ergo, The Archivist will take matters into his own hands 'I'll orchestrate a worldwide, All-embracing scheme against an oblivious individual' With a sinister smile on his face, he devised his plan 'Turn the entire world into a person's antagonist, Then enjoy the show' And he had the perfect plot for it 'First, Utter Despair that would cause immense Pain' 'Then, More Despair that would turn the Pain to Loathe' 'Then, As the Loathe grows, The Despair will transform into Rage' 'The Rage will make the Being Crave Revenge, and the intense Crave will result in Devotion to his goal' 'Finally, The Despair, Pain, Loathe, Crave, and Devotion will all be used as fuel for the Rage, Transforming it into an even extremer emotion' "WRATH" How would a single person unleash his Wrath against the entire world? 'That's what I'm going to find out' "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" The Archivist's maniacal laughter echoed loudly 'The world is about to be entertaining' He looked up and asked with a reverberating, Bleak voice "Who will be the unlucky one?"

Second Floor

Leus looked at the departing Nuri's back with a startled expression.

'Damn, such a stern ideology'

'Did I really say something deserving of being called a Renegade?'

Leus sighed

'She was a nice girl though ... I'll try to apologize to her later, I can understand where she's coming from.'

Leus stopped thinking about Nuri and began thinking about his next step

'I need to get a tutor. What did that man say, the second floor or the third floor?'

'I think he said the second floor'

Leus put his ring on the closed elevator and opened it, then pressed the button to the second floor.

The Elevator opened and Leus entered the Mansion's Second Floor.

That floor had no doors or walls.

On the left side, there was a long reception desk that had five females seated behind it, behind them was the rail that showed the outside, but it was covered with red curtains.

On the right side, there was a Library-like facility.

There were many shelves that had books and tomes on them, and between the shelves, there were round tables that had many people sitting and discussing various things.

The facility was divided into many categories, each category had a different theme.

There was the big Magic Section that was divided into many small categories

Red, Fire Category

Blue, Water Category

White, Light Category

And so on.

There were also many other categories, like the Swordsmanship category that was made for Knights, and the Knowledge category that had information about history, geography, and such things.

Some categories interwound together, like The Light Magic Category with the Anatomy Knowledge Category.

It was a complex but beautiful structure.

'It really is impressive, it's not as big as the Crimson Library, but it has a vibrant and lively atmosphere.'

Leus was impressed by the floor's design, but he quickly turned around and looked at the reception desk.

The desk was long, and it was divided into five different sections, each section had a sign on top of it.

Leus began reading the signs from the nearest to the farthest:

- 5000 or More Points

- Between 1000 and 5000 Points

- Below 1000 Points

- Workers and Floor Employees

- Business Establishments & Public Events.

'Huh? Even the reception desks are based on Points?'

Leus looked at his Emblem with a downcast expression

'My status grants me no favorable treatment here, how sad'

But he quickly shrugged it off and walked to the third section of the desk, which had a line of three people standing in front of it.

Leus stood behind the third person and waited for his turn.

To pass the time, Leus focused on the person in front of him and evaluated him.

'Elite Fire, D Tier ... he has a sword so he's probably a Knight'

'I guess he's on the same level as Dad, what makes him eligible to be here I wonder? Apart from his age, I can't see any difference between him and Dad.'

The guy at the beginning of the line was done, so he turned around to leave and the line moved forward.

Leus realized that the guy was a young D Tier Elite Knight as well.

'I think everyone in this line is a teen D-Tier Elite Knight ... interesting, are all Knights poor like me?'

Suddenly, The guy stopped in his tracks and looked at Leus.

His sudden halt alerted the other two in the line, and they began looking at Leus as well.

Then they looked at each other, then at Leus, then again at each other, then again at Leus.

' .... Why are they acting like they are seeing some sort of a beast'

Suddenly one of them said

"What kind of sorcery is that?"

Another one asked

"Are you real?"

Leus furrowed his brows

"What are you talking about?"

" ... We can't see you in our Domain"

Leus' expression became blank

" ... That's it?"

The three looked at each other and nodded.

Leus turned around and pointed at the Darkness Category, it was a black-colored section with a single young black-haired guy sitting alone in it.

"Go educate yourselves a bit"

The three looked at each other and didn't say anything, then the guy who was leaving went back to the desk and quickly did something, and the other two followed suit.

In less than 2 minutes, the three guys were done spending all their Points and went to the Darkness section.

The black-haired guy looked at the three in disbelief while the three of them were skimming through black-covered books.

Leus looked at the four in amusement

'This place is full of odd-balls, people are serious about everything here'

For a second, he remembered Nuri and sighed.

But he quickly pushed all these thoughts to the back of his mind and walked to the desk.

A red-haired female greeted Leus by saying

"Hello and welcome to the Second Floor of the Red Mansion, The Department of Education and Intellect"

" ... That's a long name"

She whispered

"I know!!! Right? But what can I do?"

Leus smiled

'Finally someone easy-going'

The woman asked

"How can I help you today?"

"I want to know how things work here, I also want to hire a tutor to help me with unlocking my Skill"

The woman nodded in understanding

"Things here work depending on what you want.

For example, you can buy Access Time with your Points, or you can buy a copy of a specific book, or, as you requested, you can hire a tutor"

Leus tilted his head

"Excuse me? What did you say again? Buy time?"

"Exactly, buy Access Time. This means that you pay Points to get the privilege of spending time here"

"What exactly do I gain by doing that?"

"You gain access to most of the books here for the duration of your time"

Leus liked what he was hearing

"So I can open any book I want as long as I have time?"

"Yes, exactly. But not Any book, most books"

Leus nodded

"I see, this sounds good, how much does it cost?"

Guess the cost guys!
