Despair

Scar's kick broke the wooden door to pieces, and the trio was immediately hit by a strong, terrible stench.

Leus immediately covered his nose, but Scar and Bones didn't seem affected at all.

The house was in shambles; Everything was broken and in a mess.

There was a trace of blood on the floor which led to a dark room whose door was slightly open

Leus seemed unable to breathe properly because of the smell, so Scar whispered

"Leus are you okay?"

Leus nodded

"Let's go inside"

Scar took the lead with Bones beside him and Leus followed behind

The closer they got to the room the stronger the stench became ..

Strangle, the smell felt familiar to Leus

'Why is this smell familiar ... Where did I smell it before?'

He was digging through his memories trying to remember where he smelled that before.

While he was doing that, the three of them got closer to the dark room.

Scar whispered

"Wait"

And signaled with his hand to Bones, Bones nodded and quickly checked the rest of the house before returning back to them and saying

"No one is here, We need to enter this room."

Leus activated Advanced Mana Vision and was about to push the door and enter but Scar stopped him

"Wait, Let me enter first.

The illuminating stone is on the top left of the door and you aren't tall enough to reach it"

Naturally, Scar didn't know that Leus' spell allowed him to see in the darkness, but Leus was too nervous to explain so he just deactivated the spell and nodded.

'Something is definitely wrong, I also can't remember where I smelled this smell'

Scar went inside followed closely by Bones and Leus, He quickly touched the stone and illuminated the room.

As soon as the room was illuminated, Leus was shocked to the core.

The scene was gruesome; Blood, Guts, and Limbs all over the place

Leus immediately dropped his sword and began vomiting uncontrollably, That's when it dawned on him where he smelled that smell before.

'The Rhino, When I was cutting the horn'

Leus' mind pretty much went blank after this thought came to him.

He felt absolute despair and fear.

He lost the ability to form coherent thoughts and was just in a mess.

Scar and Bones looked around the room,

The twins were both naked, lying on the floor facing each other on opposite sides of the room.

One of them had both his arms and one leg severed, His eyes hollow, and was slowly bleeding from his neck.

The other had his right leg skinned and long cuts all over his body.

Scar and Bones ran to check on the twins leaving Leus vomiting and coughing on the floor.

Bones checked on the limbless twin and declared

"He's dead"

Scar inspected the other one's body and said

"He's alive but ... He won't live long. Leus, Can you do anything??"

Scar heard no reply

"Leus?"

He turned around to look at Leus only to find him curled into a ball in a corner beside the door, Vomiting and crying.

Scar calmly said

"Leus, control yourself"

He called his name multiple times but to no avail, Leus was just unreachable

Bones stepped forward

"I think it's too much for the kid to handle, I'll go to bring Holy Water from your house and come."

Scar looked at the slowly dying twin and said

"He won't live until then."

Scar got up and slowly put his hand on Leus' back

"Leus, If you control yourself maybe you can save him."

Leus just looked at him and vomited again.

His mind was in a state of shock and denial, Talking to him led nowhere.

Scar grabbed Leus' chin and forced him to look up, Chanted the spell water and put some water on his face, Then slapped Leus hard

"Sorry, But control yourself"

Leus blinked in surprise and looked around him, The slap seemed to have brought him back to reality.

When Scar noticed that he literally dragged Leus across the room and put him in front of the twin's body and asked

"Is there something that can be done?"

The twin's body no longer looked human, it looked absolutely grotesque.

His right leg had no skin up until the thigh, and His left hand was twisted in a way that's not humanly possible.

There were countless cuts and bruises all over the body, a deep stab in his stomach, and his nose seemed to be broken and swollen.

His teeth were missing, and that wasn't everything.

There were many more injuries but Leus just couldn't see them, He began vomiting again but tried his best to control himself.

'I ... I have to save him ....'

His mind was dominated by that thought, But he was unable to look at the body without losing his composure and instantly vomiting.

Leus closed his eyes and kept casting Healing and Restore.

He didn't know how many times he cast each spell, 5? 10? 15? He didn't count, He simply kept casting until he felt that it was enough then he opened his eyes again.

The body looked much better, apart from the fact that it was covered with blood, many things came back to normal. Except for the stab in his stomach, It didn't heal at all.

'Maybe an organ is injured'

Leus became a bit calmer after seeing the body go back into shape, so he cast Examination.

'Yeah, It's an organ, Healing spells won't work, I need Life Force for this'

Leus took a deep breath

'The twins aren't even Soldiers, It shouldn't take much of my Life Force'

'He's a Mortal, I'm two levels above him.'

He cast Vivify and started consuming his Life Force, putting it into the twins' body

2% Life Force

5% Life Force

Leus stopped and used Examination

'Not enough'

7% Life Force

10% Life Force

13% Life Force

That's when Leus stopped and used Examination again

'Finally'

Vivify seeped into the twin's organs, Filling them with Life Force and restoring them to their peak conditions.

It took exactly 13% of Leus' Force to fix the twin's internals.

Leus cast Healing again, and this time, the spell worked.

The stab wound closed, but the twin didn't wake up.

At this point, Leus was exhausted, not because of the Mana Consumed, but because of both consuming Life Force and the mental shock he faced.

It all took a toll on his body, so he just lay down on the floor.

Scar asked

"Is it done?"

Leus nodded without saying anything and closed his eyes

As soon as he did that, the image of the bloody room flashed in front of his eyes, and his eyes immediately shot back open as wide as possible.

'what the -'

Scar noticed that but didn't say anything, He turned around and signaled something with his hands to Bones.

Bones came and picked up Leus on his shoulder

"You're heavy, Kid"

Leus didn't resist and Bones carried him out of the room.

A couple of seconds later, Scar carried the living twin out, brought the sword Leus had dropped with him, and closed the door.

He put the sword beside Leus and sat down on the floor beside Bones.

Leus was tired and just wanted to sit down.

The twin wasn't awake to ask him what happened, and it was almost midnight.

For about two hours, the three of them just sat quietly without uttering a word, waiting for Leus to get better and for the twin to awaken.
