The Archivist's Ploy: A Tale of One Against The World

Far above the horizon, beyond the clouds and the apocalyptic storms under it, hovered a yellow-haired old-looking man. His yellow eyes gave off a bright radiance, and countless books floated around him. Throughout history, the man was known by many names, (The Watcher - The Chronicler - The Historian - The Custodian - The Recordkeeper) But during this Era, he was known as The Archivist. The Archivist's perception inspected thousands of kilometers far and wide, Yet 'Nothing interesting is happening' His frustration grew 'What's the point of a worldwide perception if there's no apposite change to perceive?' 'The world has become mundane' 'And no one is doing anything about it' Ergo, The Archivist will take matters into his own hands 'I'll orchestrate a worldwide, All-embracing scheme against an oblivious individual' With a sinister smile on his face, he devised his plan 'Turn the entire world into a person's antagonist, Then enjoy the show' And he had the perfect plot for it 'First, Utter Despair that would cause immense Pain' 'Then, More Despair that would turn the Pain to Loathe' 'Then, As the Loathe grows, The Despair will transform into Rage' 'The Rage will make the Being Crave Revenge, and the intense Crave will result in Devotion to his goal' 'Finally, The Despair, Pain, Loathe, Crave, and Devotion will all be used as fuel for the Rage, Transforming it into an even extremer emotion' "WRATH" How would a single person unleash his Wrath against the entire world? 'That's what I'm going to find out' "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" The Archivist's maniacal laughter echoed loudly 'The world is about to be entertaining' He looked up and asked with a reverberating, Bleak voice "Who will be the unlucky one?"

Arno's Plan

About ten days passed since Leus secluded himself to unlock his last Abstract, and on the morning of the eleventh day, Arno decided to go through with his plan.

'Quite simple, but should be effective'

In all honesty, Arno didn't really need a plan to get Leus into the Red Mansion, he could've made Ignatius himself take care of the matter.

'However, that'd have crippled Leus' future.'

If Arno did that, then Ignatius' internal faction, the department leaders in the Red Mansion, would keep an eye on Leus and possibly hinder his political future.

'But doing it this way, making Ignatius' faction themselves seek Leus, will erase all such thoughts.'

Arno smiled faintly, he believed his plan to be perfect.

'Let's put things in motion.'

He whirled some Water Mana on his index and put it on the ring on his left hand.

About a minute later, Felix stood came to his desk

"You summoned me, Master?"

Arno nodded

"I did"

He took out an envelope from one of the desk's drawers

"You know where Leus lives, right?"

"I do"

"After your shift is over today, go give this envelope to his father"

Felix picked up the letter with interest

"Is the Young Master okay? Is there something concerning him?"

Normally, Arno wouldn't reply to that, but he was in a good mood today, and he also knew that the relationship between Felix and Leus was somewhat close, so he decided to answer

"Yes. Soon, he won't be the Young Master anymore."

Felix was shocked to hear that, his tone rose a bit

"How come? Did something happen?"

Arno chuckled

"Why so serious? Let's just say that he will rise higher"

"Higher? Than the Library?"

Only one place came to Felix's mind, he opened his eyes wide when the realization hit him.

Arno noticed that and spoke

"Yes, you get it ... now go. You can ask him for the details if you're so curious."

Felix turned around and went back to his position, he had a silly smile on his face, and Robert quickly noticed it and asked him.

"What's making you so happy? Did the Master give you another vacation or something?"

"Pffff, I wish. I'm not sure, but I think that the Young Master will go to the Red Mansion"

"Ohh? Really? Good for him, I guess it was inevitable with his talent, but why are you so happy?"

Felix shrugged

"Well, he was always a nice guy, I'm just happy for him."

"Duh, sure"

Time passed quickly and noon came, Felix's shift was over and he headed home.

'I'll go home first, I want to check on Arleen.'

He opened the door and entered.

Arleen was sitting on the couch drinking some coffee while reading the newspaper.

When Felix came, she dropped the newspaper down and smiled brightly

"Welcome home honey"

"Hey, how are you and the little one doing?"

"We are fine, he's very quiet today"

"Is that so? Then he might be asleep, did you eat?"

Arleen smiled faintly

"I had breakfast but I was waiting for you to eat again, Hehe"

"I'll prepare the food for you, but I have to go out again, something came up."

Felix went to the kitchen, there was a box of ice that had two big salmon fish in it, he took one out and began frying it.

About a minute later, Arleen came behind him and asked

"What came up?"

"Why did you get up? You don't have to"

"Don't worry, I'm fine"

"Okay ... but don't exhaust yourself"

"Sure, now tell me, what came up?"

"The Librarian gave me a letter to deliver to Leus' house, I'll quickly do it and return."

Arleen put her index on her lower lip and asked with curiosity

"Do you know what's the letter for?"

"I'm not exactly sure of the details, but I got a pretty obvious hint from The Librarian."

"Ahem, spill the beans"

"It seems that Leus will go to the Red Mansion"

Arleen's blue eyes opened wide for just a second

"Really? Now that's interesting"

"I know, right? He's a pretty nice guy, I wish him the best."

She replied absentmindedly

"... Yeah"

After a couple of seconds of silence, she added

"We should invite them again after Leus goes to the Mansion"

"Sure, why not"

The salmon was ready, so Felix put it on a plate and gave it to Arleen

"Eat this, I have to go now"

"Sure, send my regards to Viorica and Amethyst!"

"I will"

Felix kissed Arleen's cheeks and then left the house, still wearing his armor

'Since it's an official visit, I must keep my armor on.'

It didn't take long for him to reach Leus' house.

When he got close, he could sense Blaze and Merlin training in the garden, but once he entered Blaze's domain the two stopped, then Merlin went inside the house.

Felix approached Blaze with a smile on his face

"Hello, sorry to disturb"

"Oh, please, Felix, aren't we already past all these formalities? Come inside"

Felix scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment

"I appreciate your hospitality, but it really isn't required, this is an official visit"

"Even then, please come inside"

After Blaze asked for the second time Felix couldn't find it in himself to reject, so he just nodded and followed Blaze inside.

When Merlin saw Felix he became excited

"Oooh! You're wearing the cool armor again ... can I touch it?"

"Sure Merlin, you can"

Felix could see Amethyst sitting on the couch sewing something

"Hello Miss, Arleen is sending you her regards"

Without stopping her sewing or averting her eyes, Amethyst replied

"Send back my regards too, Sir!"

Blaze ushered for Felix to sit and sat opposite to him

"Don't mind her please, she's really into sewing nowadays"

"Oh no problem, don't worry about it"

Blaze and Felix began talking about general matters, and in about 3 minutes, Viorica came out of the kitchen with a tray of drinks and gave them to everyone.

"Thanks, Madam"

"Not an issue"

Viorica sat beside Blaze and both waited for Felix to talk about the reason he came here.

After taking some sips, Felix took out the envelope from his pocket and handed it to Blaze

"This is from the Master to you."

Blaze extended his hand and took the envelope

"Thank you"

"Oh and by the way Madam, Arleen is sending her regards, she wants to meet you again soon. We should do it when you and Leus are free"

"That'd be lovely, sure"

They spoke for a bit more time until the drinks were over, then Felix got up and left

After he left, Blaze opened the envelope and took out a piece of paper that was inside of it.

He began reading loudly so Viorica could hear him.

The piece of paper had instructions for things to do over the next two days, all Blaze had to do was follow the instructions until the end.

'I see ... not really something out of the world if you think about it.'

After he was done reading the paper, he put it aside and explained everything to Viorica, who nodded at everything he said and then asked

"So you will start from tomorrow?"

"Yes, that's what's written"

A smile appeared on Viorica's face

'My little genius' future is so bright'

She thought that and hugged Blaze.

Soon, things will be put in motion.
