Strange cave

If I'd known there was a high demon here I never would have brought the kid in the first place. I just wanted to get an idea of how he would be able to fight with unbonded humans in the field. I looked up around the cave. The roof of the cave looked odd. I directed the light up further so I could see the roof of the cave better.

This isn't a cave. We are inside of a skeleton. This was a massive ribcage. Sand fell down through the hole we'd punched through. Wyatt's damaged body was draped over half of the creatures massive beast crystal.

The sheen, and color of the magic crystal reminded me of the crystal Wyatt had absorbed from the dragon we'd found.

"Wyatt," I patted his cheek area.

His face was one of the least damaged parts of his body.

"Come on kid," I patted his face a few more times.

I didn't know how long we were out so I didn't know how long it would take for the demon to reach us when he realized we were still alive. I grabbed the light ball, and shook it again. Tossing it in the air to get a better look at the inside of this skeleton. There was another set of ribs up against the one we were sitting in right now. Maybe another crystal would be enough to get him up again.

I walked around the end of the ribcage, and walked into the other skeleton. There was another crystal here. It was massive like the other one. About the size of my chest. I grew in size slowly in an attempt to not further antagonize my wounds further.

There was a good amount of space in here but I would only be able to expand so far. I pushed the crystal along. Rolling it until it was in the other dragon's corpse, and up against Wyatt's tail. I picked up the his head, and slapped his cheek a bit harder than before.

"Come on kid," I slapped his cheek a few more times, "Absorb the crystal, and heal kid."

The faint sound of flapping reached my ears. He was coming our way. We didn't have a lot of time.

"Hurry up kid," I winced as tried to snap him out of it.

I didn't even know if he was still alive, but we were both dead if we couldn't fight together. I wasn't strong enough to kill this damn creature alone. Not with his familiar summoned to his side. He'd manage to subjugate a pretty powerful flame affinity beast. Their matching affinities was a huge disadvantage for us both.

Wyatt stood a better chance at escaping without me. If I could distract the demon than Wyatt's chances of escape would be even better, but right now, I just needed to see if he was alive.

"Come on kid," I shook his head again, "We don't have enough time for you to be lolling around like this."

My body felt numb. Someone was messing with my head. I think he was shaking it, but it was hard to tell with my entire head ringing.

{Take us} a merged male, and female voice spoke to me.

Take you? I wanted the shaking to stop so I could sleep.

{If you sleep now little one} the merged voice spoke again {You will not wake again. Now take our power. We offer it freely.}

No. I just want to stay in this dark warm place. There's no pain here. No more worries. No more suffering.

Just warm darkness.

{If you stay you won't be able to protect what is yours anymore} the merged voice whispered {They'll be left alone with the knowledge that you died far away, and in so much pain.}

Why would I be in pain? This place is warm. So comfy. Memories flashed before my eyes.

"Wake..." a voice outside of this darkness was breaking through the darkness, "...on kid."

{Have you forgotten them} the merged voice whispered as two faces appeared before my eyes {They are yours, and they are slipping away from you. Take our power. It serves us no purpose anymore.}

Fine. I opened myself to their power. If it will make you shut up so I can sleep. Power flooded my body. Overwhelming my senses as the image of two dragons flooded into my mind.

The female was blue. Glittering brighter than the purest blue waters. The male was the color of river stones. Stripes of silver, and white decorated his scales giving him the appearance of a well shined stone.

"Now heal little one," She leaned towards me gently nudging me back to full awareness as my body screamed agony.

Bones mended, flesh grew back, scales covered the new skin, and my horribly damaged wings grew back their membranes. All while my body screamed in agony. I clenched my teeth. Forcing my eyes open despite the massive amount of pain I was in. I turned my head towards Goliath as everything that had happened before I almost died came back to me.

My wings pulled in close to my body as the pain faded away. I snorted as I shook off the sand that covered my damaged body. Memories started flooding my mind as I shook my body awake. I was exhausted, and every muscle screamed over extension. My wings flared as I hissed angrily.

Stupid demon was here already. I jumped up, and gripped the edges of the hole. Wrapping my tail around Goliath's chest loosely, and using his arms to lift him out with me since his armor was shattered around his rib area. It was safer to assume his ribs were damaged from that hit then to handle him roughly. I secretly cheered at the fact that my arms, and legs were still free.

Extra limbs could be so handy sometimes. I pulled myself up out of the hole, and scanned my surroundings quickly. I didn't need to think about where he was as I looked right at him. Pulling myself out of the hole, and setting Goliath down on the edge of the hole. I sorted through the memories that filtered through my mind quickly.
