I did worry a bit that the humans would attack our group, but it would be just plain stupid to attack a large force of flying beasts. Three wyverns were considered dangerous. I'd brought fifty. Sure they'd be able to kill most of us if they brought their full force to the battle, but five ships wasn't anywhere near enough to kill me let alone the fifty wyverns. However I couldn't be everywhere at once.

A good number of the wyverns were pretty much guaranteed to die. The wyverns did their part perfectly. Killing every minor beast that decided to attack the ship. Our human, and half human members started talking with the crew although we still pitched tents on the deck instead of sleeping in the ship. Schnider was the only exception to this rule.

He was a high ranking military official, and he had a lot to report back from his last year of research. The mana on Greenland prevented him from sending out proper reports. His letters could only contain so much information, and his computer had long been burned out by him using it near magical creatures to much. That in itself presented a problem. While Schnider did prefer to write his notes down on paper over using his computer.

His handwriting was terrible. It was written in english, but looked more like another language. It was hard to tell how much information they were able to decipher from his notes. That, and the fact that Bryce had been concealing one of the ingredients of the wire until just before we left. Schnider would be willing to do just about anything to get his hands on dragon scale now that he'd seen what it could do.

He'd probably spend months studying the material once he got ahold of it. It wouldn't take long either since I was more then willing to hand it over. We shed every damaged scale. It didn't matter how minor the damage was. It was our armor.

We couldn't have any holes in our armor. I didn't shed as many scales as the other two, but they still shed plenty of scales. I was interested in finding out what exactly the humans had to think now that I was simply too strong for them to get rid of. I was probably the most powerful mage on the planet currently. I still hadn't managed to test out my spell either.

My instincts were fighting against the idea of casting it. I'd only instinctually avoided casting spells a few times in the past. Changing tactics in a split second when I really wanted to do something else. I frowned to myself as I sat on the deck of the ship. Riding along was a rather peaceful way of doing things.

It was impossible to ignore the gazes of the crew. Aurora remained quiet. Her graceful gentle feminine curves made her appear as if she'd been carved from precious gems. I on the other hand was all hard angles, and spikes. I didn't mind it.

Males were supposed to be masculine after all. It was just really hard not to stare at her myself. The curve of her wings, and the gentle shine of her scales were almost as infuriating as the slight smirk that played across the length of her snout. She knew what she was doing to me, and she was enjoying it. I stepped closer to her.

Nuzzling her beneath her jaw for attention. I knew she was watching me. Most of her focus was on me, but her body was playing a different game. I moved on from beneath her jaw, and got under her horns. Snaking my tough tongue between her scales so I could rub it on the base of her horns.

Her body temperature went up several degrees, but she still refused to play my game. I enjoyed teasing her. I kept that up for another fifteen minutes before stilling, and glancing over to our audience. I could see Schnider looking through his little window as he discussed something on the phone. The other humans didn't know our connection, but Schnider had the better part of a week to observe the change in our behavior.

Before the two of us preferred to avoid each other. Well I preferred to avoid her, and she allowed it. Our bond was too new for us to stay apart. Neither one of us would allow it. Apparently that was pretty normal.

Letty had both expected us to mate, and planned for it. He fully expected me to come back in a weakened state, and encouraged her to carry out this little plan of hers. I was furious that he could be so frivolous with her life, but at the same time I knew that I would have killed her if I hadn't been severely weakened when she moved forward with this plan. I was painfully predictable to some people after all. They had a full medical team waiting when I got back.

The team was made up of slaves I rescued, Aurora, and Letty, but that just seemed to cement the fact that they expected this of me from the beginning. I smirked to myself calmly. Stepping away from my mate to lock eyes with the scientist in that little window. I debated on growling, but decided against it. Aurora was going to take me away for some fun later.

All my gentle persuading had worked. It helped that she was willing. She'd been the one all in on this relationship from the beginning. Letty drew my attention to him about the time three wyverns jumped off the ship to snap beasts up from the surface of the waves. Pulling up from the water with ease before flying alongside the ships for a while.

Fighting for pieces of their kill. It was more playful then deadly. Aqua took my silent order willingly. Jumping into the air to go retrieve the beasts core. I didn't have to wait long before she came back down with her gore covered prize.
