He turned to be briefly with a smile only to be stabbed three times. Yet not a drop of blood fell. It just hung suspended in the air for a few seconds before turning into lethal blood red blades that shot out of his own wounds. He didn't seem to feel pain at all. He disappeared again.

He didn't use the shadows this time. He simply moved so fast that the enemies he struck were torn apart as if they'd been hit by a canon. Not a single finger. He casually tasted the blood on his finger.

"Low elves," he muttered, "So weak."

Then he repeated what felt like the same thing again in elvish for the elves. The looks on their faces as they rushed toward him were pure rage. I started climbing out of the crater only to find myself in the old mans surprisingly solid arms.

"Please don't push yourself," he smiled down at me in his arms before glowing, and floating out of the crater, "I took quite a bit from you young dragon blooded. Would you like to rest next to your dragon?"

I was so freaked out by the fact that he had me in his arms that I didn't know what to say.

"I'll take that as a yes little lady," his smile faded as he focused on bringing me down to Wyatt's side.

Normally I would find someone talking to me like that insulting, but somehow he came off as flirtatious. He set me down gently so that I was on my feet.

"Rest," he watched me for a few seconds to make sure I sat down, "Blood loss doesn't affect people the same way a wound might. Sleep is the best way to recover. Try to sleep if you can."

He looked Wyatt over briefly. My muscles coiled slowly. I couldn't just sit here while they were all fighting. Suddenly his eyes were all I could see.

"Don't force me to restrain you," his tone was far less playful this time.

He drew back slowly. Turning his head slowly to look out over the battlefield again. He let go of my hands, and backed away.

"That dragon kin isn't doing well," he looked at me again, "Is this his first time transforming?"

"Dragon kin?" I looked up at him confused.

"Ah yes," he smiled warmly, "Most dragon knowledge must have be lost now. He must be the result of that spell I helped Regala make. How fascinating. How long has he been communing with the will of the world?"

Now I was even more confused. He could see that I was confused.

"You don't know of dragon kin," he nodded, "I can accept that. However, you should know how long he's been laying there like that."

"A little over three months," I answered a little nervously.

His hand went to his chin almost thoughtfully.

"He's also bonded to the dragon kin," his hand went to his chin, "That's not good. He needs to calm down, and return to being a dragon blooded or he'll die without the support of his dragon."

"What?" I tried to stand up, but found his hands on my shoulders.

He was pushing me down.

"Stay here," he moved quickly, "I'll do what I can, but he isn't likely to respond well." a brief pause, "Will he calm down if I bring him here?"

"He might," I realized who he was talking about.

Ethan was in trouble. Ethan was the dragon kin that he was talking about. Ethan was going to die if he didn't calm down.

The blood of a dragon blooded always had a funny taste to it. It was sour. Almost bitter. I didn't like the taste, but I couldn't deny the kick it gave me. I was brimming with fresh power.

I didn't know how long I'd been slumbering. That was one thing I liked about being a vampire. Don't drink blood long enough, and I would slowly dry up. Falling into hibernation. I smirked at the thought of how much power I'd been able to manipulate in my prime.

The fact that I would return to my prime if I was given enough blood was another reason for a smirk to be on my face. I rushed into the battle. It had taken me a few seconds to determine who had sided with the dragon, and who was the enemy. Their reluctance to kill the human enemies was a bit childish, but I would abide by it if it would satisfy the one that had fed me. The humans were far weaker then I remembered them to be so it wasn't a problem for me to target the elves.

The humans could handle the other humans. It would be wasteful mana wise for me to strike at them the same way I'd defended Savannah. Savannah. That's not a bad name. The information I'd gotten from her blood memories made communicating with her rather easy.

English was a new language to me, and more complex then I expected with multiple words meaning multiple things, but I could think more on that later. It would cost me nearly all the mana I currently had, but it would be the fastest way to remove all the elves from the battle quickly. I hadn't gotten enough blood from the girl to generate it on my own so what I had would have to be enough. The mark of the healer glowed on the wrinkled skin of my cheek.

I'd had it almost my entire life now. So long I couldn't remember a time when I didn't have it. I moved at my top speed. Hardening my body with my own blood so that it could withstand the speed I was moving. At this speed it felt as if the world was standing still.

A simple poke with a single finger was all I needed to do. Once I returned to normal human speed the elves would know the devastation that speed could cause. Velocity. That was the scientific name for it now. I'd decided I liked that word.

All it took was a quick poke. They didn't even know what had happened until they were already dead. I stopped after I found, and killed the last elf. I turned around to watch the devastation I caused with a smile. My small little pokes caused them to explode away from the impact.
