Ehrin's Advice

In the middle of the hall, Shion never stopped to talk to Euris and Ikaria. Not knowing how long had passed, Seyric's face grew gloomier.

As Shion's eyes caught sight of Seyric's face, he spoke. "You seem bored, little one."

Which turned Seyric's gaze in his direction.

"May I know your name?" He added as he leaned forward to his level.

Seyric blinked for a moment."My name is… Seyric, your grace…"

Shion turned towards his daughter and gestured his hand towards him, "Come here, love."

"Yes, dad." Ehrin paced towards her father.

As Shion placed both of his hands on her shoulder with a wide smile. "Wouldn't it be a pleasure if you asked young Seyric to play with the other nobles? I'm sure it'll be fun."

Then he glanced over Seyric's way, "How bout you Seyric? Wouldn't you mind…? I'm sure you're getting bored with our conversation to listen to."

"Um…" Seyric's eyes flutter for a moment, before his gaze shifted both at his parent who's also worn a smile from their face.

Ikaria nodded and stepped forward. "It's fine, sweetie. You can go."

Seyric smiled from ear to ear, nodded his head, and bowed his head in Shion's direction. "Yes, your grace. I… thank you for the warm gesture…"

Shion smiled as he leaned away. "All right, now all of you go."

As Seyric moved away, Ehrin also joined his pace as she strided beside Seyric while a bright face.

"Hey, I'm Ehrin. It's nice to meet you."

She whispered while Seyric reverted his eyes from her while hhis ears werereddened from her soft and gentle voice that ffilled hismind.

"Your Seyric, right? It sounds cool…" She added as their pace echoed from the tiled floor.

"Can you tell me more about you?" As she faced him and stared at the back of his head she couldn't help but smile.

"No need to be shy."

Not until the long silence, she looked back and was greeted by another woman as she marched towards them.

"Hello, Lady Ehrin. I'm Naïve! It's nice to meet you!" She announced and stood in front of them with a wide smile from her face.

As Seyric's eyes were fixed towards her back, he stared at Damier as his back leaned against the wall. His arms crossed and his eyes turned away from them.

"Damier, come join me and greet them!" Naivet urged him.

Damier stared at them with glare eyes. "Why do I care? I don't want my time wasted."

As Naivet groaned, she said, "What do you mean?"? Don't be rude, Damier. Greet them!"

Yet he didn't move an inch instead he loomed his eyes away as Naivet charged towards him while her eyes flared like fire. "Don't be rude, Damier!"

As both exchanged taunt and arguments, Ehrin stared at them with a flustered face as a giggle escaped from her lips.

Seyric's eyes gleamed under the light, her soft silky skin gleamed under the light. Her eyes were gentle as she blinked her eyes at a slow pace as if the moment had slowed down.

On the other hand, Ehrin's eyes caught up the opened door outside the garden, as both knights stood from the door on each side.

Her eyes shined before she glanced in Seyric's way. "Let's go there!" She pointed out her fingers as Seyric followed them.

Before he could respond, Ehrin's hands grabbed his wrist and pulled him away from the hall.

Seyric didn't refuse at all. He let Ehrin lead him away as they entered through the door. The darkness greeted them, and a glimmer of moonlight glowed through the garden.

Ehrin's head moved back and forth as she surveyed the blooming flowers and green bushes scattered around every corner.

"It's so beautiful! Don't you think so?" Ehrin's arm poked Seyric's side as Seyric nodded his head with a slight smile plastered on his face.

As time passed, as they marched through the garden they reached the center where Ehrin finally stopped as she gasped. "Come on!"

Then she bolted towards the fountain as Seyric followed behind her.

It cascaded water as Ehrin's eyes never left sight of its beauty.

Seyric sat by the fountain's seat while Ehrin gazed at the fountain. Seyric raised his head as his eyes swept along the stars scattered from the dark sky in silence.

Ehrin was about to part her lips as she glanced over to the direction of his face.

She noticed the distant reflected in his deep eyes, as she couldn't help but gulp down her thoughts as she took a seat beside him.

Her gaze couldn't help but fix on his. "What's wrong, Seyric?"

She pondered as she tilted her head before Seyric's attention turned to her, as their gazes clashed for a moment.

She smiled warmly and placed her hands on his shoulder as she said, "You have something in mind... that you want to share?".

Seyric fell silent for a moment and sighed and he lost himself reminisced from his deep thoughts.

"I don't think… I belong to become a Magicist… My… my strength is so weak… and fragile. I… I don't think I belong to the… Starling Crest Academy…

With gloomy eyes, he blurred, "I seem to be left out by everyone... by everything."

Ehrin sighed as she glanced away and played with her hands.

"Why are you pushing yourself if you don't want to…? Whenever my father wants to do something I don't like, I always refuse to do so."

"I've always looked up to my mother... but it does not mean I want to follow her footsteps... It doesn't mean I want to become a Magicist.

In a distant memory, her eyes flashed from memory as she said, "I have always loved the sword more than magic.".

Then added, "What's making you stop doing what you want? You shouldn't push yourself too hard to do things that you have not wanted to… Doing what you like is… is the best."

As Seyric nodded, he stared at his hands with his eyes fixed on them.

But suddenly everything was broken when a soft voice echoed from the garden.

"Ehrin? Ehrin? Where are you?" Her mother called out from a distance.

Her eyes glowed from excitement and she hopped down the seat. "I have to leave now, Seyric! Think about it carefully… okay?"

Until suddenly her mother appeared behind the tree as her gaze was fixed on the both of them, next to each other.

Ehrin, without a second thought, rushed over to her mother's arms and hugged her tightly by her leg. While her mother patted her daughter's back gently.

Het eyes suddenly glanced over Seyric's way, she gave him a warm smile that also influenced her eyes while Seyric only stared at her in trance.

She looks more mature and gorgeous than her cute and tiny child. Everything about her appearance was off the roof, yet it all bore a resemblance to her daughter's face and body.

Afterwards, she nodded at him and held her daughter's hand as they marched away from the garden in the opposite direction.

Seyric watched their backs vanish from the scene, left alone. As he shuffled through many thoughts ran through his mind.
