1 Chapter 1: A Delivery Boy

New York, Manhattan district, a shop with a signboard saying "Old York Pizza" is bustling with business, with people everywhere inside and outside the shop.

A handsome young man with black hair and black-colored eyes squeezed out from the crowd at the entrance, carrying a stack of pizzas, and then quickly placed the pizzas into the insulated box behind the delivery motorcycle.

"Sigh~ It seems that having too much business is also a kind of trouble." Maverick Stone looked at the bustling business, so different from the bleak past, with a smile on his lips.

It could be considered his birthday gift to Old York. Back then, seeing the shop struggling, in gratitude for Old York's saving grace, Maverick racked his brains to recall the methods from his past life, conducting experiments to transform the once unpalatable Old York Pizza into a unique delicacy.

Maverick had only arrived in this unfamiliar world four years ago. In his previous life, he was a frail and sickly orphan, raised in an orphanage since childhood, and had been living there ever since.

From being taken care of to taking care of others, Maverick Stone's entire short life was inseparable from the orphanage. On his eighteenth birthday, he succumbed to the torment of illness, curled up in bed in the dead of night, and ceased to breathe.

He thought his life had come to an end, but Maverick Stone didn't expect to open his eyes again.

Although facing a strange place, even his body had reverted to that of a thirteen or fourteen-year-old, and his appearance had changed, Maverick was still very excited to have another chance at life.

The newly arrived Maverick had no memories of his new body.

When he first woke up, he felt fragmented memories streaking across his mind like meteors, accompanied by intense pain.

After the intense pain subsided, he only understood the fact that he had transmigrated and switched bodies. Any other information about his new body seemed to quickly vanish with his awakening, leaving no trace.

Facing the unfamiliar environment, with nothing and unable to communicate, Maverick could only wander aimlessly in the chilly early autumn.

If it weren't for Old York picking him up and taking him home to care for him, Maverick Stone, who was already feverish and unconscious at the time, would probably have closed his eyes again shortly after starting his new life, eventually becoming a cold corpse curled up next to a dirty and smelly garbage can.

"You dickhead! I've told you not to take so many pizzas at once. It's dangerous to ride the bike like this!"

As Maverick was about to set off for delivery after placing the pizzas, an angry and impatient old man in an apron quickly made his way through the crowd at the shop's entrance and stopped Maverick, who was about to leave.

Seeing Old York, who had already begun to open the insulated box directly, Maverick Stone smiled helplessly, lifted his foot that he had just kicked up, and then put it back down.

"My technique is fine, and delivering more in one go saves a trip, improving efficiency and saving time, right?"

Upon hearing Maverick Stone's words, Old York took out a delivery order from the insulated box while glaring at him with his blue eyes, saying in a displeased tone, "Young people are so reckless and arrogant nowadays, tsk tsk."

"When I was in my twenties, I also met a motorcycle expert. You should know that motorcycles forty years ago weren't like they are now. He was just as arrogant as you, carrying three girls on one bike, with one squatting in the front and two sitting in the back."

Upon hearing this, Maverick Stone couldn't help but blink and smile at Old York, "Wow~! So, how many did you carry back then?"

Old York, upon hearing this, angrily kicked Maverick's shin and continued to glare, saying, "Don't change the subject! You brat, how dare you tease me!"

"Sounds enviable, doesn't it, carrying three girls alone," Old York looked at Maverick, "But within five minutes, they all went to meet God."

Hearing such a sudden turn of events, Maverick Stone couldn't help but widen his eyes and ask, "What happened?"

"The motorcycle carried too many people, couldn't control the direction well, and when turning, it went straight off the road, down the cliff, and into the sea." Old York said as he closed the insulated box, now containing the normal amount of items it should.

"That guy even borrowed fifty dollars from me to buy motorcycle parts, but unfortunately, that money is gone for good."

"Pizza and people weigh vastly different." After the shock of the story wore off, Maverick Stone also realized the difference between the people in the story and himself.

Listening to Maverick Stone's murmurs, Old York patted his back and said, "Accidents don't discriminate whether you're carrying pizzas or people; as long as it's overweight, even just a can of beer, it's a risk and a hazard."

Maverick Stone nodded in response and climbed back onto the motorcycle.

*Vroom!* As Maverick Stone turned the key and revved the throttle, the motorcycle let out an eager roar.

"And don't forget the helmet!" Just as he was about to depart, Old York's rough and gruff voice came from the side.

Maverick Stone immediately picked up the helmet and put it on himself, then turned to look at Old York, waiting for him to finish checking again.

"Alright, go ahead. Be safe on the road; there's no need to rush. Safety comes first." Old York nodded, gesturing for him to depart while reminding him.

Maverick Stone waved in acknowledgment, "Got it, I'll head back soon."

After saying that, he twisted the throttle and headed towards the first delivery point.

Watching his departing figure, Old York's usually stern and serious face showed a rare soft smile.

Over the past few years, the two had been living interdependently, as close as true family.

Old York gave Maverick Stone a new life, opening up a new chapter for him, and Maverick made Old York feel the warmth of life and the experience of having someone to accompany him, especially since he didn't have the luxury of family affection in his childhood.

If it weren't for Maverick being able to do some cleaning and odd jobs, he reckoned he would have been sold by that woman who was always immersed in drugs, to make some money.

Seeing that the woman was increasingly unable to get money, Old York also escaped from that place one night, because he felt that the woman's eyes had been on him these past few days, as if assessing how much he could fetch.

This brief life was all the memories about family that Old York had before meeting Maverick. Perhaps Maverick's appearance was the realization of the wish he made with a lighter on his tenth birthday, just fifty years late.

After watching Maverick disappear around the corner of the street, Old York returned to the shop to continue his busy work.

It seemed he needed to hire a few more delivery drivers; Maverick would be starting school soon, and his studies couldn't be delayed.

Maverick had been one of the top students in high school, and now that he had just entered college, his studies and social life couldn't be delayed just to save a little on labor costs.

After his rebirth, Maverick not only gained a healthy body but also felt that his brain's thinking had become very clear. The most obvious thing was that he found studying effortless, maintaining his position as the top student in the school year after year.

He was very pleased with such changes, but the only reason he could think of was that he was a transmigrator, and his soul and thinking were much stronger than ordinary people due to it.

Thinking of Maverick's excellence and maturity, Old York, who was making pizzas, couldn't help but exude an atmosphere of happiness.

Such changes made the apprentice and other staff nearby couldn't help but secretly wonder what had happened. Could it be that someone had introduced Old York to a same-aged old lady, and the old tree had blossomed?

"You rascal! What are you thinking?! This pizza is already blacker than the underside of an old pan!"

Until Old York's irate words rang in his ears, almost spitting on his face, the apprentice, lost in thought, hurriedly put away his chaotic thoughts and took out the burnt pizza from the oven while apologizing.

"I'll deduct the cost of this piece of dough from your wages, you unfocused brat! Making pizza isn't that simple! If you keep up this attitude, you might as well roll out of my shop now and go play scrambled eggs at home!"

A/N:

This chapter mainly outlines the protagonist's identity as a reincarnator and some background information.

The protagonist is someone who, after reincarnating, will encounter some well-known characters, such as Spider-Man, so he knows that he is in a comic book world.

However, because in his previous life, he didn't know about comic books or movies, he doesn't know anything about the characters or plot.

The protagonist's identity as a reincarnator is mainly to increase the sense of immersion and make some plots and ideas more reasonable. Readers who are sensitive to this point should read with caution.

Not gonna plug a pătreon immediately as there's still only a five chapters in it. I'm gonna do it when we eventually have 10 advanced chapters so stay put.
