32 Meeting Carla Beaumont and talk with Ivy
The next day...
The news about the defeat of the Justice League is kept away from public as it would cause widespread panic. The other members of the league tried to track down our guy in other planets and on earth since he used a boom tube to get away.
Batman and Superman put him on the league's capture list and assigned him as one of the top targets because the guy knows their real identities which could prove fatal against them if the person becomes a villain or a threat.
They were facing the same pressure they faced when the Mystical Punisher appeared and left like that.
They searched everywhere but they could not find even a trace of his power. How could they when system is masking his power.
Vishal has been preparing a project for the past two weeks. It's a project which aimed at the environmental cleaning in Gotham.
The reason he started this project is because whenever he saw the smog or the pollution in the skies he always got an eerie feeling. Though it is crucial for Gordon to flash the Baat signal, Vishal was not bothered because whenever he experienced the automobile smoke, smoke from blasting of cars or other vehicles when rogues or other criminals attacked he felt irritated and his anger rose in his mind due to effects of some pollutants.
"Let's see. The project will comprise of tree plantations, a solar power plant in the outskirts of the city, cleaning of roads though most of them are clean due to the company, Changing of pipes and cleaning of water to make it drinkable.
These will be first implemented in the areas where Amarnath Security Corps patrols so that there won't be any disturbance from anti social elements. After this project is done, I'll start the company expansion into other cities and countries." said Vishal.
"What anti social element host? Your rampage in Black Gate has got many criminals scared and the streets are too peaceful than ever. Of course there are rogues but I doubt there will be any movement too soon after what has happened." said the system.
"Leaving the criminal elements aside, you're evaluation of rogues is wrong. The breakout can happen anytime." replied Vishal.
"Reports are coming from Arkhum Asylum about a break out. Two rogues have broken out and new details have emerged that it is Poison Ivy and Dr Freeze." came the new channel.
"I take my words back host." said the system.
Vishal chuckled. "Won't you take them out host?" asked the system.
"Those two are redeemable system. Freeze wants his wife cured while Ivy is only obsessed with the green.
Let the Bat family handle it for now. I'll later cure his wife and also help Ivy by securing a place with green for her but there are urgent matters to do than this." said Vishal.
System kept quiet.
A knock came on the door and Vishal said "Come in" as he stopped designing the changes in the map.
"Pardon me." came a voice and two female figures came in.
Vishal knew the brown haired figure is Ms.Bianca and she brought in a 15 year old girl with orange hair and red lips.
She was wearing a formal blue shit tucked into the skirt. Vishal saw the legs of th girl which were top notch in his eyes.
Close your mouth host. You're true feelings are coming out." said the system.
Vishal became normal after warning.
"Mr. Vishal, meet your new secretary hired by your father himself. Carla Beaumont. Ms.Carla, please introduce yourself." introduced Bianca.
"Hello Mr. Vishal. Nice to meet you. I am Carla Beaumont." said Carla.
"Likewise. Vishal Amarnath." said Vishal extending his hand.
She shook his hand.
He activated the soul reader skill and he received an unexpected surprise.
"A methuman with cybernetic powers. Most unexpected." thought Vishal.
"She seems to have killed criminals. The hit count is not too low and not too high." he said to system.
After the handshake they withdrew and Carla said "Now I'll leave you two. Work hard Carla."
She smiled at Bianca and Bianca excused herself.
"Well Ms. Carla shall we get down to work?" asked Vishal with a smile.
Carla's pov
"I finally met the guy who along with his father changed Gotham in a way no one would expect. I was able to afford treatment to my mother due to the less fee charged by Amarnath hospitals and for that I can never repay his gratitude.
My mother is able to walk nowadays with the crutches which wasn't possible before the treatment was done. My work as Phantasm has made me kill unforgivable criminals but my target is the Ventriloquist who seem to have been quite for past 4 years. I need to find him." thought Carla.
Third person pov..
"Yes, I am ready to begin." said Carla.
"Good. Note it down. This is the new project which we are going to do in the areas where the company patrols.
Arrange a meeting with the board at 12 tomorrow about this new project. You can find the numbers of these guys with Bianca.
I can't give you the complete details of the project but it is roughly a project for making the areas under the company cleaner and environmental friendly. New machines are going to be introduced for this purpose and they will be unveiled after we get approval from govt.
Any further question?" asked Vishal.
"Two questions, Mr. Vishal. 1) Why is it being only implemented in the areas patrolled by the company and not in other places of Gotham?
2) Why isn't company focusing on the issue of quality education for children as many could not afford higher education because even I had to struggle to get good education?" asked Carla inquistively.
VIshal raised his eyebrows and said " We have an agreement with city hall to have our own patrol in these particular areas." showing the areas in the computer.
"If we break the rule, govt would do something that would make us give up the areas of crime alley aka Vision valley nowadays to the govt. The situations of the residents may go back to the days when the Police din't care. We can't take any chances because there are still some families recovering from those days.
The second question regarding education we have sponsored many scholarships to the boys and girls living all over Gotham. Estabilishment of school and a college under the company will take some time Ms.Carla because proposal is being made by my father and I do not want to spoil it by doing it myself because he feels guilty for unable to sending me to school." said Vishal.
A smirk appeared on Carla's face. She was happy. When she found the company silent during these years after doing this much for Gotham she thought they have become arrogant but now she understood that they never stopped caring for the underdogs of the society.
"A personal question if you won't mind Mr. Vishal?" asked Carla.
"As long as it is not unpleasant I will answer it." said Vishal strictly.
"Nothing like that. I want to know why didn't you go to school even after earning that much money." asked Carla.
"You have yourself to blame for this question host." said the system mischeviously.
"Shaddup." said Vishal in his mind when system laughed.
"I am not so good with books than I am with money. The only books I am good with is either which bring money or stories, novels and comics." replied Vishal.
"Thank you for answering. I'll get on with the work." said Carla.
"This is your first day. Don't push yourslef." said Vishal.
She nodded with a smile and left.
"Someone's smitten with her." said system.
"Stop it. It is take a lot of self control because my heart wouldn't stop beating in front of her." said Vishal calming himself.
"What's your take on Ivy host?" asked system.
"Stop it right there. I am okay with girls from heroes but no villains as my girlfriends or wives." warned Vishal.
"I am talking about your take on her personality since you have read the comics." said the system.
"Her intentions are right but not her obsession and her methods." said Vishal.
"I see." said the system and went silent.
Vishal felt uneasy as for why the system asked this question.
He knows that system wouldn't ask such questions without a proper reason. When he asked the reason system kept silent.
He got back to work and at the end of the day he and his father came home and saw lights on in the mansion.
"Some unwanted visitor or people have entered the house." said Vishal.
"You should wait here, Papa." said Vishal.
"No, even though you have fighting skills it may not be enough. Let's go together as I would rather die than something happening to you." said Ravindra.
Vishal sighed at his doting father and Vishal saw through X-ray vision the person who has entered the house.
Vishal has entered the house and both him and his father searched everywhere and saw no person. Vishal acted as if he did not see the person and asked his father to go to his room.
Vishal went to his room and removed his coat and said "You can come out Ms. Pamela."
Ivy came out and used one of the plants in her body to tie up Vishal.
Vishal spelled in his mind. "Plant magic. Cultivate bond."
The plant bowed its head towards Vishal and did not attack.
"What did you do?" asked Pamela surprised.
Vishal saw her bleeding in her stomach.
He used the Spiritual Qi and cured her wound.
Ivy could not believe it.
Vishal flicked his hand and a sound isolation barrier appeared.
"Now you can talk. No one other than me can hear you." said Vishal.
"Why did you heal me? You know I can kill you right?" said Ivy coming sucpiciously towars him.
"I know, but I have the power to heal and I cure people." replied Vishal.
"No. You have something you want from me, right?" asked Ivy suspiciously.
"Listen Ms. Pamela. Me and my father have worked to improved the lives of those who have suffered. Even now after earning this much money we are still trying to improve the city.
A projected is being prepared by me to improve the environment of the city and as soon as we get the approval, we are good to go." said Vishal.
"I don't believe you." said Vishal.
"Understandable. I won't convince you but all I ask is to give me a chance to prove that we're trying to improve environment of the city." said Vishal.
Ivy was conflicted but she decided to take a chance this time.
"I won't trust you but I will give you a chance because you did not call the Police even after seeing me." said Ivy.
"I know for a fact you're one of those redeemable ones so I am not going to do that." said Vishal.
He took out a key and threew it to her. "That's an apartment I have on my name. You can use it to stay there. It's not that I am afraid of you because I have already see the worst in my time when alley didn't change." said Vishal.
She glared at him but it did not have the same intensity of negativity as before.
"Use the window to leave." said Vishal.
Ivy took the window and left.
"God, sometimes females are troublesome to handle. Atleast she listens unlike Harley and the lady heroes." said VIshal sighing and changing his clothes before going to bed.
