Start of Summer Break

"Psst wake up dumbass, the teacher is looking at you."

"Ugh but the principal has been talking for the past 30 minutes. Can't he shorten his speech to 20 words maximum.."

Haruto elbowed the drowsy Kageyama who frowned at Haruto who hit his sides to wake him up. He looked up and saw his homeroom teacher stare in his direction, so he stood up straight in his chair.

Kageyama looked to his left side and saw Hinata leaning back on his chair straight up. He looked like he was staring at the front but his eyes were unfocused.

"Is he sleeping with his eyes open.."

"That's pretty amazing isn't it?"

The two of them were in awe of Hinata's skill and returned back to listening to their principal speech.

After a few more grueling minutes of the principal talking, he ended the closing ceremony and summer break officially started.

It has been a few days since the practice matches at Tokyo ended and the players at Karasuno continued to practice and try out new skills that they had seen during the matches.

"How has your secret training been progressing so far?"

"Hehe It's going well! Just wait until you see the new a Hinata Shoyo come around!"

"Yeah I doubt that will happen."

Haruto, Kageyama and Hinata started to walk back to class to get their stuff as they discussed the progress of their own individual practice.

Hinata said that he started to train with someone to help improve his skills and Kageyama also started to try out a new technique of his own.

In Haruto's case, his arm swing has improved greatly compared to when he first started out and now he is able to control his hits with more speed and power.

"But what are you guys doing for summer vacation?"

"Just go to practice I guess."

"Ehh you're seriously not planning to do anything else during the break?"

Hinata asked the other two as they made it back to class. Kageyama said that he had nothing planned and Haruto widened his eyes at his answer.

"Come on, we have to go somewhere. How about that plan Kuroo wanted to set up with going to the beach."

"I'll think about it…"

After hearing Kageyama's response, Haruto laughed and thought that perhaps Kageyama felt awkward going out with other people on a trip over the summer.

They continued to talk about their future plans for the summer but then stopped after they heard a small commotion outside their classroom.

"Who's that scary guy with the scruff…"

"Did he somehow sneak into the school…"

Whispers started to go around and the source of those whispers began to internally sweat, not wanting to stay there any longer.

"Ahh there you guys are!! The people on the team are planning to go bowling after school so are you guys free to join??"

Nishinoya popped into their classroom with Asahi right behind him. Nishinoya had an expectant look on his face as he waited for their answers. The three of them looked at each other and nodded saying that they were free to come.

After hearing their answers Nishinoya ran back out and Asahi quickly followed behind him.

"Is Asahi really that scary to people?"

"Maybe? But he's a kind person so I'm not sure why people are scared of him.."

Hinata whispered to Haruto who just replied in an unsure tone after seeing the scene he caused by just standing outside their classroom.

"Woahh this place looks so cool!!!"

"Hinata don't run there yet, we need to get our bowling shoes first!"

Yachi tried to catch up to the speedy Hinata while the rest of the people who saw this laughed at their act.

Near the back, Haruto and Mahiru were coming down the stairs and also entered the area of the bowling place.

"So you also decided to come and join too?"

"Why you don't want me to be here?"

"Who said that, in fact I'm very happy that you came to join."

"Cheeky.."

Haruto smiled as he saw Mahiru roll her eyes at his words but a small smile formed on her face.

They made their way to the front desk where everyone was and found the right pair of bowling shoes that fit. They followed the employee who directed them to three alleys for them to use.

They separated into 3 groups and after quickly setting up their names, all of them started to throw down the bowling balls.

"Heh see this is easy as pie!"

Tanaka grinned as he knocked down the 4 remaining pins to get a spare added to his score.

He looked expectantly at Kiyoko to see if she was looking at him, but was disappointed to see that she wasn't looking but instead, talking with the two other managers.

"Ryu just watch, you haven't seen a true expert in action yet."

Nishinoya, who saw how Tanaka scored, shook his head as he stood up to grab a ball and do his turn.

"Watch the special bowling version of… [ROLLING THUNDER!!]"

Using the momentum in his spin he threw the ball and it quickly rolled down the aisle. It looked like it was about to go into the gutter but the spin curved it towards the center of the pins and knocked them all down.

Nishinoya saw his strike and calmly sat back down while smirking. Tanaka who saw his strike knelt down in front of him as if asking him to be his master.

"What are they even doing over there.."

Haruto gave a blank stare as he saw the commotion that was happening on the lane that was next to them.

"Haruto it's your turn now!"

Yamaguchi who looked at the screen called Haruto's name reminding him that it was his turn to go. Haruto took a ball and rolled it fast down the middle and knocked down all the pins to get his first strike.

"Ohh you had gotten two spares so far so I thought you would get another one."

Hinata clapped his hands in amazement and Haruto exaggeratedly took a bow to respond back to him.

"Now let's see if Kageyama will get the same score as last time."

"It would be pretty amazing if he did right?"

Haruto whispered under his breath as Hinata also whispered as they intently watched Kageyama go up to do his turn.

He took a ball and narrowed his eyes as he threw as hard as he could down the middle. It began to roll but as it reached the end it curved and went left. The ball curved until it reached the corner and knocked down one pin.

Kageyama furrowed his eyebrows and rolled his second ball but this time it curved to the right side and knocked down one other pin that was at the right corner.

"Pfttt he really did hit only the corners again."

"Should his new name be the King of Corners from now on~"

Haruto tried to hold in his laughter but failed to do so as Tsukishima quickly suggested Kageyama's new nickname making everyone burst out into laughter.

Kageyama, seeing how everyone was laughing, felt his lips twitch as he also wondered why he was only able to hit the corner pins

After wiping off the tears that came out of his eyes, Haruto saw Mahiru stand up while holding a tray of empty cups.

"Hey if I don't come back in time for my turn, could you play for me?"

"Sure but where are you going.."

Haruto stood up before he could hear Hinata's question and he just tilted his head seeing after seeing Haruto walk towards the drink bar.

"Do you need some help with that?"

"Kyahhh!"

Haruto spoke as he walked beside Mahiru who got startled by hearing someone suddenly speaking close to her.

"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"My bad, my bad."

Mahiru gave a sigh before giving Haruto a glare for scaring her. Haruto chuckled seeing her expression and took some of the cups to fill it up with different types of soda.

"Did Yachi and Shimizu go somewhere else to do something because you're here alone right?"

"Yeah they went together to carry some food so I offered to get the drinks for everyone."

Haruto asked Mahiru about the other two managers and she replied back to him while pointing towards the counter. Kiyoko was holding a ticket while Yachi was looking over the counter trying to see what was good on the menu.

They turned silent as they tried to finish filling up the drinks of everyone that came to bowl.

"Haruto, will you be going to the beach with the people you met during the practice matches?"

"Was Kuroo really that loud when he spoke about it…"

"He kinda was. But after hearing about your guy's plans, the managers from the other teams also wanted to join so I was wondering if I should come or not."

Mahiru glanced beside her as she wanted to see if Haruto would be going. She felt that he would most likely go but she just wanted to be sure.

"You should definitely come! We plan to go in about a week so we could travel together if you also decide to go."

Mahiru began to smile as she heard Haruto start to thoroughly convince her to come. She started to think in her head on what she should prepare for the upcoming plan.

'I need to go shopping for a new swimsuit… I should ask Kiyoko and Hitoka to come with me to choose…'

Mahiru thought as she only had old ones that didn't fit anymore and she wanted to look presentable for a certain person.

"Mahiru do you have other plans for the summer break?"

"Hmm? Right now I don't have any planned."

"If that's the case do you want to go out somewhere with me again?"

Mahiru froze in place as she turned towards Haruto who was filling up the cups with soda. She was caught off guard by the sudden invitation but felt delighted that she was being invited to go out once again.

"Y-Yes I would definitely want to do something like that again!"

Mahiru tried to contain her happiness but it unintentionally spilled out as she tried to give in a reply to Haruto.

"Alright, that's great then. We should also hurry up since it looks like they're waiting for us to carry the drinks."

Mahiru looked at the direction where Haruto was pointing and saw Shiziku and Yachi look at them with a smile on their faces. Kiyoko secretly gave a thumbs up to Mahiru which made her feel slightly embarrassed.

They placed the remaining drinks into the tray and carried them back to their area. Everyone began to gather around the assortments and continued their time enjoying their first day of the summer break
