Chapter 1: Million-Year Worth of Reincarnations

After suffering an untimely death due to hunger and chill, Dan Shi had been wandering the Earth as a hungry ghost, scavenging through the tough carcasses of tyrannosaurus and megalodon.

Before switching to haunting cowards and chickening humans, preferably those peeing at 3 in the morning with a deep and hollow 'peek-a-boo', to kill her boredom.

Dan Shi died during primitive times.

A period when even the ancestors of your ancestors, who are also your ancestors, haven't been born.

Witnessing the earth's civilization undergoing a myriad of transitions until it had reached the present modernization, on top were corrupt—fine, let's not go to that toxic matter.

Anyway, it was such a long time that even King Yama, the god of the afterlife, forgot her existence.

Just imagine yourself being forgotten by your lover for a day without a call or text.

Heck! If you're a damn virgin or an old man, just imagine not receiving your paycheck for even just a whole damn month intended for the house bills.

Now, imagine how King Yama forgot to submit Dan Shi's name to the Hall of Rebirth after all those millions of years.

Even the vicious raptors in her time might be the fried chicken you just had for lunch!

Meanwhile, Dan Shi, this old fossil, literally as old as the museum's T-rex bones, was left like an abandoned kitten and was delayed with her reincarnations—yes, with a thunderous S that you could hardly pronounce.

[A/N: Or is it just my neighbor, hmm?]

'Delay' was an understatement. She was totally forgotten and lost immemorial.

And, to covertly settle his fault and avoid the nit-picking of the other gods, King Yama himself dragged her into the cycle of reincarnation without the permission of Aganis, the goddess of rebirth.

Pushing Dan Shi to the Mortal World, hoping for her to go on with her new life and buzz off, safely pulling the huge thorn off his neck.

Yet, before King Yama could heave a relieving sigh, not even a day passed but Dan Shi came knocking again on the gates of the afterlife. Like a persistent ghoul wanting to die each time.

"Weren't you just reborn?!"

"Uh yeah? You tell me, Old Man, weren't I just reborn?!" she bemoaned.

If you ask her, then who will she ask?

Once again King Yama was faced with a dilemma. Forcing him to use the portal of rebirth for the second time.

'Oh, Supreme Lord, just... just one more, okay?' He asked and promised it would be the last time.

On her second reincarnation, Dan Shi was sent to the Cultivation World but not a century had passed and…

"Old man, I'm back!"

The old god's jaw dropped on the exquisite floor of his throne room. He just started transcribing holy scriptures as his punishment, but this stupid ghost is here again, ah!

'No, no! You can't come here! You have 999,099.0991 years' worth of reincarnations. Why won't you spend it?" King Yama lamented.

'Ah, you can even extend your stay there. Just don't come back so quickly!' He was so frustrated that he even slammed his pen on the table and stopped transcribing.

*Ding!

A green light visible only to the old man's grey eyes appeared on her forehead, showing a series of digits of her quantifiable unconsumed lifespan for that one life.

[+78.54]

Upon witnessing her increasing number of years, a rare scene of the old god's horror and shock was reflected on his ashen wrinkly old face as the number above the lass' head slowly rose from 999,099.0991 to 999177.6391.

'She's going to break the limit of humans!' he exclaimed with his bulging whitening eyes as though he had seen a terrifying ghost in the middle of the day.
