I am here to follow the tradition. I have edited my story and posted it again after improving it. There will be many characters as I have planned to introduce as story progresses. While the world building will become very clear as the story moves. While I have tried to make the system very clear to the earlier one and a bit less OP.
I am at the 416th chapter at the moment and this is where I decided to drop this novel. I didn’t quit because the story is bad but because I hate harem and at this point you realize for sure that this is the direction the story is going. Author please put the harem tag, it is misleading. Now to the story review. The story starts with a lot of type and grammatical errors, it gets a bit better later, though writting style still needs more improvements. There are certain stylistic devices, for the lack of better word, that are overused or used unnecessary. As for the plot, I like that the main character is a coward and weak at the beginning, it is too boring when the characters are OP from the start. On one side, MC character developed in a bit better way than most characters in similar books I read recently but it could have been better. The problem I have is that changes are sudden, though they are expected from the story plot, but still, he felt like a completely different person. Also I don’t like how besides saving world from demons and as a consequence of that wanting to get stronger main character doesn’t have any other desires. Well maybe seeing his parents and then holding grudge, but it still only two dimensional. What I really don’t like is how narrator sides a lot on the side of main character and MC is in the end “right” even though a lot of people would think he is very wrong. And no, I don’t think main character needs to be good, but then don’t be afraid to make him bad and don’t find excuses for him. And besides, isn’t the story more interesting when you see clash of opinions on different topics (principles, morality, politics…), which can be done as opinions or discussions between different characters and narrator can remain neutral. World building. While not bad I am confused why author decided to use the modern world. Because character almost never use phones, or computers or anything else. How technology developed in the world with mages could have been explored more. Society is divided between nobles and normal people but where do scientists and engineers who are developing technologies belong to? It is focused too much on magic that I forget a lot of times that they have technology and I get confused when phone or vehicle are mentioned. I will not discuss harem, but I think that plot that begins with character that starts harem arc is poorly developed. It is too abrupt and feels like a fan service. But all in all story is fun for the most part, though it could have been better. Well, that is all from me. :)
honestly this author committed to taboos of writing. "The chosen one (prophesy, which keeps the story thin and predefined) and the goal of killing the demon king( the ending and guarentee last 200 chapters of the story.) " you literally back yourself into a corner and are now forced to write a narrow path, which is so predictable only 1st time wuxia readers have a decent chance of sticking around. i read the other comments that say stick to 40+ chapters but when you only keep your trash chapters free and the "fixed part pay for" 9/10 will drop. good 1st try effort but i am sadly not your targeted audience. Suggest author becomes a reader and sees why the top 10 are the top 10.
Its a really nice story of a normal and kind of weak guy getting hit by bad stuff of reality like betrayal within family and stuff, awakening a system, gaining people like his master and loyal friends, exploring newfound strengths and not letting any one shadow him, with the ultimate goal of saving everyone whether that is your normal citizens or the ones who look evil on the surface but are just mistreated/misidentified. There are many characters with complex back stories but are developing slowly with the message of 'Past is a part of us but it shouldn't heed our present'. Max, our protagonist, winning battles with not only his superb strength but intellectual abilities. Overall the story is wonderful and nicely paced with beautiful scenes described for us readers to imagine easily. About rating: I wanted to take out 1 star for grammatical errors but if i see, the errors have decreased over time with mostly typos coming my way. Im on chapter 839 at the moment and hence taken out 1star for the updating stability because, well the...the chapters are coming slow and short. Either way the story is brilliant and the readers who are reading this review please do read the book. 💙💙💙
The MC is very timid minded and generally doesn't accept people or things easily the biggest example is the people who love him (it has romance but it's not enough). The MC no matter how strong he is keeps a low profile because apparently he doesn't want to be in the like light, which ends up making things a bit boring. The MC personality doesn't change much as he still doesn't grow up and mature sadly. If one puts these thing aside the story is good but the MC personality makes it little troublesome.
Whole story is an big MISUNDERSTANDING-MANIA(there is always misunderstanding btw the characters like btw master&disciple, grandpa and grandchildren, brother and sister, between friends, between lovers....) and all these misunderstanding leads to worst situations in story. Likr Idk why can't the characters tell what they came to tell completely instead giving vague answers which will then lead to another misunderstanding. And another thing to know is "every time MC leaves his place(or academy) you can expect him to run into enemies. And the fights end with some mid-level bosses.
So I read around 450 chapter in 2 days and it was really fascinating how I went from loathing and hating the main character to feeling sorry for him in a short period of time. The story starts off slow and there are still a few things that are confusing (such as the power system which I'm just unable to grasp) but after a while its gets better. Really solid character development where the MC acts like a normal person and not like a emotionless murderhobo. The side characters are not linear and boring while <spoiler beginning> any of the 4 other awakeners could easily be the main characters of their own novels <spoiler end> All in all it was a real fun read although some things could be explained further
This book is definitely a must-read. Better than other types of system novels. This one accualy explains why is there a system. World building is nice, nothing too fancy or mind-blowing but has a history. Story is exciting, i am still reading so it's not done yet but it's going good so far. I don't wana talk about what is going on in the story because i feel like it will cause prejudice. If you have the time, check out the first couple episodes. You won't be able to stop!
Simply put the MC doesn't deserve to be an MC, he's just flowing with the waves, he's retarded character carried by plot armors. He has no redeeming quality author than retarded righteousness which is somehow ok, since he's young, but other than that he's nothing. And there's loopholes in the story as well concerning his parents.
