The Beginner's Luck

Since every single piece of my wardrobe was too small for me, I couldn't clothe myself. The first thing I did when I entered the room was to check myself in a mirror, before realizing I was too tall to fit the frame, so I had to crouch down to see my new face. My body wasn't ripped, there was plenty of unnecessary fat, but there was still muscle behind it that wasn't there before. I was standing at 2.25 meters. That kind of height was weird for me to be in; I had to be careful when entering the house, and so on. Everything felt smaller than before, something that in my hurry back home I didn't realize. Not only my eyes are much higher than before, but my hands are more prominent and thicker as well, creating the impression that everything was smaller.

My face underwent more changes than I imagined. There was still a resemblance to my original look, that was fortunately already handsome. Now, it went several levels up, but I completely lost the sliver of 'pretty boy' appearance I had before. My jawline was much more defined, My eyebrows were sharper, my eyes were also more piercing, and my pupils gained a bright green colour with a bit of blue. I didn't know why that colour accurately, and why the colour was so deep, but I wasn't complaining. I expected to gain red pupils, but I didn't. My hair grew and adopted a bright red colour. Both my eyes and hair's new colours weren't humanly natural but went exceptionally well with my new look.

Now I was sure that those abyssal women that like the pretty boy look would not bat an eye at me, but any decent women that want an actual man and not a boy would jump on me. There wasn't anything heaven-defying about my look like I've read in those Chinese novels and I would probably look better with a well-trimmed beard, but I was still quite satisfied with my new look.

I decided to buy new clothes from the Internet as I couldn't go to a shop merely naked, and I needed clothes made specifically for me, and wide as well as I expected to fill out quite nicely with the training I was about to undergo. I also needed to buy weights, and so on. My apartment was too small for a complex gym with a lot of equipment, but I still would make the most with what I have. Plus the equipment would need to be unique as well after a while, since I suspected that my body would grow exceptionally quickly and that I would need heavy equipment soon, the 'too heavy for human' kind.

My inspection and buying spree was done. I now only needed to wait for the clothes and the equipment. The pay I would get from teaching English at Kuoh Academy was ridiculous. Sponsored by two of the wealthiest families from Hell, the school was probably one of the most luxurious schools in the world, making me wonder how Issei could get in it since his family seemed to be normal. Only the best among the teachers were sought out for this school, thus making the pay go into the equivalent of 5 digits per month, and it wasn't a small five digits either. That begged the question on how in the Hell was I able to get selected, and since I couldn't get any answer from my memories, I guessed it was for my convenience, gifted from the ROB that created the game.

I still needed to adapt to my new body, but first, I needed to do some experiments with the various energies coursing through my body. More specifically, I needed to conceal them and make barriers in my home that would allow me to train without having unwanted visitors. I doubted I would learn by myself how to make barriers in only two months, even with all my boons, but concealing my multiple energies was feasible. I needed to be able to hide from the white cat in Rias' peerage. She was the most sensible to energies due to her augmented senses as a Nekoshou, and could even sense life force, so I needed to be able to hide every single one of them. I first checked my system.

A lot of things changed by just claimed my attributes, and even if I expected some improvement, I was still blown away by the number of skills I gained. What intrigued me was the race and the fact that I was somehow level 100 now. I didn't spend a lot of time to choose the Apprentice Mage Job, as it would help me with my current problems more than the Apprentice Martial Artist Job. Moreover, I could gain the bonuses from this Job by myself, but I had no idea how to manipulate my energies, as I was formerly an average human.

The fact that the longevity skill was only at level 10 meant that devils were, in fact, not wholly unending. They could grow old and die from natural causes; their lifespan was just too long for them to see it through. I selected the Apprentice Mage Job and mentally clicked on the ok button.

[ Warning: Increased Mana Pool. Increased Mana Regeneration. Increased Devil Mana Manipulation. ]

I felt the amount of demonic energy increase in my body and enjoyed this feeling. I felt as if the mana inside my body was slightly more comfortable to move around, and I could get it out of my body, although it drained rapidly my already small reserve and didn't do anything.

Good. Now onto learning how to conceal my aura. As I checked what I would call my internal space, I noticed a string of my soul was connected to something else. It wasn't much of my soul, but it was still something foreign, so I wanted to check what it was. The only thing I noticed was that I was suddenly hit with an uncomfortable itch. As I opened my eyes to look at what was happening, I saw black tribal marks appearing all around my body. The tribal marks stopped at my neck and didn't go further.

" A Sacred Gear? " I muttered to myself.

These were quite aesthetics and would only look better once I put on some mass, but I had no idea what they were. At the same time, it was as if a small sense of discomfort that I didn't know about disappeared. I felt complete compared to before. The more I looked at the tribal marks, the more I noticed that they were slightly moving. The only reason why I was able to see it was because my eyes were upgraded along my whole body when I claimed the Hanma bloodline.

This went along my theory that these were part of a Sacred Gear of some sort. Since there was no voice in my hand, like with the Boosted Gear, and I had no intuitive idea on how to use the Sacred Gear, as any Sacred Gear Bearer should, I couldn't confirm my theory. These would be put on hold until I could do something with them. A suit would hide these marks comfortably so I wouldn't get annoyed by someone noticing them in the future and more importantly seeing they were some sort of Sacred Gear if they were.

' Back to work, I only have two months ' I thought to myself.

Sirzechs Lucifer, one of the four Maou, was a busy man. Ever since he stepped out of the Gremory Line to take on the mantle of Maou, he saw his bureaucratic work increase over and over again, with no seeming end. But if there was one thing that he would throw all of his responsibility away, it was his little sister. Rias Gremory was someone he swore to protect with everything he had, not to repeat the sins of the past. The fact that she is cute is just a plus.

His little sister is scheduled to join the Kuoh Academy, an extremely rich school built by both the Gremory and the Sitri Duke Families ever since the two young heiresses expressed their will to study in the human world to find humans with excellent potential for their peerage set. In just under four months, the Academy was built, showing the prowess of devil builders.

Being separated from his little sister by that much distance, as Sirzechs Lucifer would do everything in his power to keep her safe, he was quite uneasy. He knew that his protectiveness would likely impede a bit her potential for growth, but it would be better, in the long run, he thought, as devils had long lives anyway. That was why he was currently checking the marks of demonic energy left by what he supposed was a Stray in the old graveyard of Kuoh City.

Even though this case should have been easy to resolve, track the stray devil, make him disappear from this world with his power of destruction and then go back home, Sirzechs Lucifer found himself in a bit of a tight spot. He simply couldn't trace the devil that emitted some of his energy. This went against everything he learned in the past 1200 years, ever since the peerage pieces were created by his good friend Ajuka Beelzebub.

The Strongest Maou simply couldn't understand what was happening here. The energy was gradually disappearing, there was a good number of devils in this town, both allies and potential enemies or more specifically unknown, but he couldn't go out and simply kill every devil that he didn't know of. Although he wouldn't even bat an eye and do it, usually, this could currently be used against him and his position of Maou. And also if he was confident that no devil in Hell could kill him, he still couldn't underestimate the might of the Devil Council, who were composed of devils far older than him and more cunning as well, that could pose a lot of problems for him and the Gremory family.

He sighed, before simply ignoring every devil in the surroundings that had less demonic energy than what was released in the graveyard, which was quite a bit, and went onto a little killing spree.

He would stop at nothing to protect his sister.

Meanwhile, Deo was still trying to figure out how he would go about trying to conceal his energy, not knowing that his feeble amount of demonic mana saved him from complete obliteration at the hands of the Embodiment Of Destruction himself, on his first day in this Death Game.

Give me what you would choose in terms of the 5 attributes ( or less ), regardless of the cost! It's going to be used for other participants when they eventually fight, although choices that are simply too strong will be excluded...
