Harvy Nortmund was a live-in son-in-law who was considered poorer than a swamp rodent. Fed up with his inconsequential personality, the matriach of his wife's family had him thrown out of the Autrix mansion on a rainy night... then beaten to the point of death by hired thugs... At the point of death, a brilliant light enveloped him; [Ping! Host found.] [Ping! System loading. 1% 12% 42% 45% 67% 99%] [Ping! Alphabet system loaded.] [Ping! Pushing the door open, Harvy felt an external pressure from the outside. He didn't want to force it open, so he eased his grip gently on it. The door opened from outside.

There was someone at the door. Harvy stepped out of the way. A tall and lanky man walked into the office. His shoulders were broad, but his posture was rather slender and befitting rather than buff. His jaws were chiseled, and his brown eyes lit up the ego in his face.

There was a small smile on his face, but when he saw Harvy, his face changed. It became sour for a few seconds, then changed into a smirk almost immediately.

The man scoffed and then turned away from Harvy. He walked into the office.

Since the man ignored him and looked down on him, Harvy didn't see any other reason to overstay his welcome. So he just turned to leave as usual.

"Has he signed the paper yet?" Harvy heard the man say to Charlotte.

Harvy's hand on the handle of the door lingered. He was very tempted to turn around. But then he thought about it again, it was not worth it.

He walked out of the office, the door shutting itself behind him.

The man he had just left in the office was none other than the heir of the fast and rising D&G groups. There were five top companies in the country, and D&G is the third on the list.

Autrix Firm was in the seventh position on the list. So Charlotte's reason for wanting to marry Richard was quite justified under the metrics of politics and business inclination.

Harvy's mind was really troubled as he walked out of the company. He turned to his right first, then to his left. He didn't know which way to go yet.

He saw a corner and walked to stand there, under a shade. The little black boss he had given to her, which she had refused, was still in his hand.

He slowly lifted it to the level of his chest. He opened the box gently. There was a small gold card placed carefully in the box. When the ray of the sun hit the corner of the card, it glittered.

The gold super VIP card was a very rare card in the whole world. Only eight pieces of it were produced across the world.

In fact, major business tycoons and influential figures didn't know that such a card exists. How then would they be able to find it?

Harvy had made sure to acquire this card because of his love for Charlotte. In truth and all fairness, he hadn't been able to treat Charlotte like a proper lady should be cared for.

He wasn't dumb and really understood what her status was. He also knew that so many men hit on her every day. He knew that her friends boast to her about fancy things that their boyfriends bought for them, talk more of husband's!

He hadn't been able to gift her any of these fancy things. That was why he had decided to surprise her with the gold card. The gold card he had acquired after coming in contact with the alphabet system.

Oh, the Alphabet System?

Three days ago.

"Can you get any more useless than you already are?!!!" A middle-aged woman yelled at a man standing in front of her.

The man had his head down, staring at the marbled floor. Harvy.

"I didn't know you had such a talent. By every passing moment, you display another shape and angle of your uselessness! I can't believe that my daughter is still keeping up with you." The woman said those despicable words with everything she held dear.

"I just finished preparing the meal. I was just about to go wash your clothes when you arrived." Harvy replied carefully, choosing his words.

"By the way, since the day is far spent. How about I just use the washing machine? Just for today." Although those words had fallen from Harvy's lips, he wished he could take them back.

The mother of his wife had lifted her gaze. Her eyes were red from rage, and her cheeks burning. Harvy couldn't help but swallow a lump at the thought of what might succeed that reaction.

"What did you just say?!" The woman asked in a hush voice, but anger was very evident in the underlying tone.

"Just for today, Mother. I won't do that the ---"

Whoosh!!! Harvy felt something zoom past his face. He looked almost immediately, and he saw a shoe flying away. His eyes widened at the realization of what could have happened.

Looking back at the woman, he saw her huffing and puffing in rage. He looked down at her legs, and she had only one shoe left.

Did she just hurl her heel at him? Harvy couldn't believe this! This must be the height of it. She had never done this to him ever!!!

"Get out of my sight!!!" She yelled as though she would rip her throat open.

"My daughter must divorce you piece of garbage!!! You will use the washing machine on my clothes?! How dare you!!! Do you know how much they cost? They cost so much that they will buy a hundred of you orphan!!!" She screamed.

Harvy really didn't know how to react. Was that how bad what he had said was? His mind couldn't even process it.

"Leave right now!!! You'll sleep on the street this night!!!" She screamed.

Her loud voice attracted the attention of the guards. They all charged at Harvy. Harvy wasn't even given a chance to fight. He was thrown out of the mansion.

Harvy was on his knees at the front of the huge gate of the mansion. It was a rainy night, so it didn't take forever for him to be soaked to the balls!

Harvy realised that it would only cause him more pain if he remained there. No one really cared about him!

He slowly lifted his drenched body in the wild cold and started to drag his feet through the road.

He hadn't walked for five minutes when he started hearing some loud voices behind him.

"Catch him!"

"He's the thief!"

"Don't let him go!!!"

He spun around with urgency to see what the noise was about. He saw about seven men with batons in their hands, running towards him.

Harvy didn't panic. He obviously didn't have anything to do with the situation. He slowly moved out of the way. He was already too weak to be pushed out of the way.

But then he realised that the closer the people ran towards him, the more intentional they were looking at him.

"Me? Are they chasing me?!" Before he could begin to wonder, the men had fallen on him.

He was swept off his feet with a flying kick. As soon as his body made contact with the watered road, swings of batons started to rain on him.

He was beaten to the extent that he couldn't even move any part of his body. He froze in the cold... his bones broken....body weakened...

All he could think of at this moment was death... he would be grateful if death was kind enough to host him... at least for the night...

When his heavy and bloody eyes were about to shut, a bright light from nowhere overshadowed him;
