FIRST DATE (II)
CHAPTER TWELVE
"I feel like you look good in everything" complimented Taurus as he watched Karen twirl in her fifth outfit - a white short flay gown.
"You feel or you know?" teased Karen.
"I know your Royal Highness" replied Taurus and he made a small bow.
Karen giggled at his action. "But I still don't see any fitting in these dresses Safe. I don't know, maybe it is because I have no idea where this date is going to be at" said Karen as she joined Taurus on the couch made available in the dressing and fitting area.
"You could call him to ask, you know?"
"You know I have no means of reaching him," said Karen.
"I really don't get why you still don't have a phone. I know my uncle is more than capable but I don't know why he still hasn't gotten you one" said Taurus.
"I feel your uncle still doesn't trust me Taurus. Can you count how many pack warriors he asked to come with us for me to just get a dress?"
Taurus could only nod his head as he had also wondered why his uncle had ordered so many pack warriors to follow them to get a simple dress. The pack warriors with them were about eight and they were part of the very skilled warriors of Red Moon Pack. Taurus could understand that his uncle had a lot of enemies that would stop at nothing to see him die but this act was extreme because they were still within the pack. The Mall of All was in Red Moon Pack and everything was being monitored by him but to what extent did he doubt Karen.
'Karen is a good lady and shouldn't be doubted,' thought Taurus.
"Well, that is by the way. I have been meaning to ask why you always wear that purple scarf around your neck and you never take it off despite the fact that most of the time, it doesn't match your attire?"
"Well uhmm…I have not really been able to speak with anyone about it as it is quite a sensitive topic for me but I guess you are just not anyone" said Taurus and he grazed the scarf with the fingers of his right hand.
"I…ummm…I am really sorry, I just didn't know it was a sensitive subject to you"
"You need not apologize, it's alright. I would have even begun to doubt our friendship if you never asked."
Looking down at the scarf, he summarized, "this is the only thing I have of my mother. I never got to meet her"
"I'm so sorry to hear that," said Karen.
"Nothing to be sorry about. When I was a lot younger, Alpha Ralph used to spend some time telling me about his sister - my mother. But when his episodes started he began to push me far from himself and became harsh towards me. I know he is doing that for me but it still somehow hurts"
"Episodes? What do you mean by episodes?" asked Karen.
"I was not supposed to mention that. We have been forbidden to think about it, how much more to say?"
"Why?" asked Karen.
"It is one of the Alpha's darkest moments. Being Supreme comes with its perks, battles and sorrows"
Karen was about to ask further but a knock interrupted their conversation.
"Luna, Supreme Alpha says to be back in twenty minutes" said the person behind the door.
"I'm yet to pick! Let me try on the last dress the lady selected and if I still don't feel myself, I'm going to this date in a polo shirt and a pair of jean trousers" said Karen to Taurus.
"Doesn't sound good! Try the last one let's see"
Karen went behind the door that could aid her to undress freely and she picked the last dress on the rack. It was a red gown!
'Not my style! Not my colour! Not my thing but let me try this out still. No other option regardless'
The dress was an armless red straight gown that flowed from her knees to her ankles. The back had a dangerous low cut that was decorated with silver beads in the space. The gown hugged her body in all the right places and her boobs stressed on the material and held it firm. She looked breathtaking in it but feared that her breasts could spill out of it as it had no sleeves hence, she decided to seek Taurus' opinion.
Taurus' head was in a fashion magazine as Karen walked out and he lifted his head as he sensed her presence. His jaw dropped as he saw her and Karen looked at him as she awaited praises or criticisms but it seemed none was forthcoming. She wanted to turn back to the room she was coming out from and be true to her words on wearing a polo shirt and a pair of jeans trousers when Taurus exclaimed, "this is definitely..The Dress! I swear and I mean it…I really can't wait to see the look on my uncle's face when he sees you"
"You think the dress is nice?" asked Karen as she looked down at the gown on her skin that made Taurus look like he was having a partial heart attack.
"Nice is an understatement of what you look like in this gown. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G is what it is. You look ravishing Luna" said Taurus and he rose up from the couch and took a bow.
"I don't think these acts of yours would ever be far from you! Thanks peasant " said Karen and they both burst out laughing.
"I'm not really comfortable with the dress but since you say it's alright, I can only say it is then"
"You wouldn't regret this decision. Go change and let's be on our way for your very first date with the Supreme Alpha. We have about eight more minutes and Alpha has already sent a message to have my head if you are a tad late" said Taurus.
"Ralph and threats…" groaned Karen playfully.
After paying for the dress, they were heading to the car when Karen remembered that she had dropped her purse in the fitting room.
"Alejandro, please could you turn the car while I go grab my purse, I forgot it inside"
"No issue Luna, let someone else get it for you" replied Alejandro.
"I don't know how to put it but…" started Karen and she finished the words in an impossibly slow whisper that only Alejandro could hear, "I am on my lady's stuff and it's quite personal you know?!"
"Oh! Sure Luna but a guard would still need to go with you"
"Start addressing me as Luna when there would be a coronation but for now, do call me Karen and one more thing, instead of the guard, I would get going with Safe"
"But Lun.." started Alejandro but he quickly corrected himself as Karen dimmed her eyes at him. "Ma'am Alpha Ralph wouldn't be pleased that you were left unguarded for a period of time"
"This conversation is over right now. Safe can you please come with me while the rest of you..stay where you are" said Karen and with that she turned around and strutted towards the revolving doors with Taurus behind her.
"You shouldn't get worked up because of that. It was Alpha's orders and you should try to understand" said Taurus.
"I am really trying to understand and when we go on this date, I have to talk to Ralph about the babysitting from his warriors" said Karen with a huff.
They went straight into the dressing and fitting room they were in some seconds ago and they couldn't find the purse. Karen continued the search while Taurus went in search of the two lady workers that were assigned to Karen. When he came back, Karen was nowhere in sight.
"Karen! Karen!" he hollered but there was no response. His heart began to beat erratically and he knew he was in big trouble.
'Did Karen run away?' he thought. If it was someone else, his mind would not be in such a worked up state but this was Karen, the Supreme Alpha's mate and the only person that could make Alpha Ralph sane. He knew how much Alpha Ralph had wanted a mate and how long he had waited, that he knew but the exact duration was what he didn't have an idea on but he remembered when he had asked Beta Stephan and Beta Stephan's reply was, "long enough to turn eternally feral!".
He suddenly became cold! A lycan feeling cold was unheard of, as they were always warm no matter the weather but he felt an inexplicable extreme chill. Ralph was going to have his head!
He sent a message through the mind link to Alejandro and Alejandro swore under his breath before barking a couple of orders to the werewolves and sending a text to his Alpha.
In a few seconds, steps could be heard marching up the stairs as fear and impatience wouldn't allow the werewolves the luxury of using the elevator.
"We need access to your CCTV footage right now!" Alejandro yelled to one of the lady workers as he entered the room Taurus was in. She shook like a plucked feather of a chick being tossed by the wind as she struggled to get her bearings to the door but before she could get there, the door opened.
