16 Book 1 : Chapter 16 Una Lezione Di Geografia

'A geography lesson'

October 13th

I woke in the morning with the sun blazing through the window.

I groaned as I drifted out of sleep and back into the terrible reality that was my life. My neck still hurt like hell. Grimacing, I brought my hand up the wound. It had covered over but even the light touch of my fingers made me wince.

But what stung the most was the fact that the man who had done this to me was lying right next to me, sleeping guilt-free and perfectly at peace.

"Morning," I heard his voice say, a few minutes later.

I didn't reply.

Instead, I just lay silently, running my fingers over the soft sheets, intense despair running through me.

I then silently sat up and shuffled to the edge of the bed.

"I need to get ready for school," I said after a minute or two of staring out the windows at the tall swaying trees of the forest.

I then left for the bathroom where I showered, brushed my teeth hair and dressed. When I was done, I looked in the mirror.
