Chapter 34

Alexander's POV

Once my anger had subsided and my wolf had calmed down, I hurriedly head back to her room. Upon nearing her room, a sudden feeling crawled into my heart. I felt that something was off. Returning to her room, I saw that the door was open and I hurriedly walk inside. My eyes quickly dart to the bed and found it empty.

'Where is she?'

My heartbeat sped up upon seeing that she was not in the room. My mind raced into thousand things of where could she is.

I should have not left her alone!

'Damn it!' I inwardly cursed at myself for leaving her. A dangerous growl emanates from my chest.

Hastily I turn my back on the room and hurriedly went to find her. With my senses, I followed the trail of her scent. I walk with heavy long footsteps that echoed in the hallways. Her scent was all over the place.

"Maybe she was trying to find her way out of the castle," my wolf said.

I clenched my jaw knowing that she wants to get out and escape. And no one is even out here to guard!

Where are those fucking guards?!

I immediately mindlink Paul.

He answered with a heavy weak voice.

"Yeah, what is it?" He must have been sleeping and I had woke him up but I don't care for it right now.

"Fucking guards! Where are the guards that should be guarding their posts inside the castle?" I angrily yelled through the mindlink. I felt he was shaken up by my roar.

"What?"

I balled my fist and breath deeply before responding to him.

"I need you to go to the security room right now! And check all the CCTV cameras!"

"For what?" He said curiously.

"She is gone! I don't know where she is! I want you to check the CCTV footage and fucking find her! As soon as you see her mindlink me immediately!" I did not wait for him to respond and quickly shut off the mindlink.

I frustratingly rub my hands at my face and found myself descending the staircase. Her strong scent was thick and evident here until I stopped infront of my portrait. Her scent stops right here and it lingered longer.

'Shit!'

This is not good. Now she knows. She might have freaked out upon knowing who I am.

And knowing what she had been through, she might think that I don't deserve her to be my mate!

"We've got to find her fast!" My wolf said worriedly.

As I turn away from my portrait Paul's voice resonates through our mindlink.

"I had found her, Alpha King! But you must hurry!" His voice filled with fear and trouble.

"What? Why?!" Disturbed at what he was saying.

"Denise had her! And you must hurry! She is trying to do something to her! They are at the back of the castle, in the woods!"

Paul's words echoed repeatedly inside my brain. I dashed out of the castle and hurriedly went out into the woods to find her.

What is she trying to do? Why she's still here? I thought she had left already knowing that Malka is now dead. What are you up to, Denise?

My mind swirled with questions as to why she had to take my mate!

I swear! If something happens to my mate I will not hesitate to kill her!

My wolf roared upon picking up their scent. Until my eyes found them.

I stopped dead in my tracks upon seeing Denise. Her hands wrapped up to my mate's throat, strangling her. Choking her to death. As I see her feet high on the ground, her hands tied at her back. And she was not even moving!

Instantly my eyes dilate with fury. My wolf surged forward and let out a thunderous roar.

Denise abruptly glances at me with a disdainful smile written on her face.

"Let go of her!" I growled and stride towards her.

"Stop right there!" She angrily shouts back "Or else your mate will die!"

"Don't you dare! Don't you fucking dare Denise!" My chest heaves up and down. My wolf let out a threatening growl towards Denise for harming our mate. I growled again and this time letting out my dominance and power. Growling to her and her wolf that I am the one whose in control and command over her. That I have the power over her to yield and submit to me.

Abruptly her wolf whimpered in response to my uproar. She let go of my mate and Denise fell on her knees covering her ears. My mate falls beside her.

"Do you think you can stop me, Denise?" I took a step towards her and once again I dangerously growled at her. My beast was furious upon seeing her mate harmed and still unmoving on the ground beside Denise.

"Do you think you have the power to fight me?"

Her body trembled as her wolf continue to whimper.

"You don't know what more I can do over you, Denise!" I stop infront of her and she looks up at me.

"Give me a damn good reason to not kill you right now!" I bellowed at her full of rage, stopping myself not to do any harm to her.

She looks up at me with her eyes full of hurt "I don't give a damn whether you kill me now!"

I clenched my jaw and balled my fist.

"Why did you do this to her?" Lowering my level to her grabbing her face "You have no right to even touch her! You have made a mistake Denise!" I said to her, my voice thick with anger.

"I don't care!" She bitterly said, "You killed my mate because of this filthy shewolf!"

A harsh slap went down her face then she laugh wickedly and then cried.

She whipped her face to look at me again.

"Why do you have to kill him? I've already talked to you and pleaded to you that I need him, Alex! But you didn't listen!" Her wails echoed through the forest "And you kill him for this awful bastard shewolf!"

My temper is barely hanging on and I don't know if I can hold this any longer. I don't want to hurt her but if I have to I will not hesitate to do it.

"One more word against her Denise, I will not stop myself to end you right here, right now!" My voice is low and dangerous. My wolf would break out any minute now. I swept my gaze to her side, but still, my mate is not moving.

"End this fucking shewolf now! Our mate needs us!" Angrily growled my wolf.

Standing up, I grabbed Denise and throw her to the side away from my mate. I heard her groans of pain behind me but I didn't bother to look at her instead I took a step toward my mate and leaned down on her.

First I reach to her tied hands at her back and ripped it off to free her hands. I lift her body against my lap and gently touch her face and brush her hair to the side. I tap her cheek lightly to wake her up but still, she was not moving.

"Hey, love" I gently said "Please wake up" Still she didn't budge under my touch.

A maddening laugh echoed behind me and I know it was Denise.

"She's dead you jerk! I had killed her!" She laughed wickedly behind me and I control myself to not go to her and end her!

My mate needs me more right now!

Not minding Denise's cruel laugh I focus my attention on my mate.

I can't hear any heartbeats in her! Her chest is not even moving!

I was baffled and furious at the same time at what was happening to my mate.

I pull her body closer to mine and hold her tightly.

'She's not waking up! I can't feel any of her pulse! What should I do?'

Fear started to inflame my heart. Cold sweat run down my face as I continue to wake her and shook her body.

I held her in my arms not stopping to wake her up until I didn't take notice of Paul's presence. He pats my shoulder but I swat her hands away, earning a growl from my wolf. I turn to look around me and saw that my father and mother were also here making their way toward me.

I look behind me and saw Denise was still laughing miserably while two wolf warriors are holding her on both sides.

"Take her away!" I ordered the two wolf warriors "Lock her up! Make sure that you keep an eye on that one!" I said in an ice-cold voice between gritted teeth.

Denise dementedly smiled at me "I've got my revenge!" Still laughing ridiculously "I killed her!" She then whispered at the two wolves holding her then she suddenly cried out and yelled at me "It's all your fault, Alex!" Her eyes were wild while her canines are showing dripping with her saliva then she laugh again hysterically.

"She had lost her mind," Paul said terribly while watching Denise taken away by the two wolves.

I set back my attention to my mate. Paul kneeled beside me and was about to touch my mate but my wolf growled at him.

I closed my eyes to control his anger and tried to calm him.

'We need help wolf. We need everything or any help that we could get to save her. So calm yourself.'

I nudge my head to Paul for him to check on my mate. He reaches for her hand and checks her pulse.

"There's no sign of pulse in her." Then he gently put down her hand and lowered his eyes.

"I can't lose her like this! I can't just let her die!" I growled in anger. I shivered in fear upon thinking that my mate is going to die "We've got to do something! Call the doctors now!" I desperately said to Paul and he stand up immediately to call the doctors.

I clutched her body tightly and stopped myself not to cry and give up on her.

"Please hold on mate. Don't leave me like this" I softly caress her cheek while my wolf paced back and forth in my head, his anxiety getting on my nerves.

Then someone pat my shoulder and I look up to see my mother I almost cried myself out when I saw the hurt in her eyes upon seeing me like this. She kneeled beside me and pull my head to her chest.

"You can do this. I know you can." My mother whispered to me but I pulled myself from her.

"No, mother. I can't accept this! We've got to do something! We can still save her just please help me call the doctors now!" And I tear my eyes from her and look down on my mate. Her face slowly turned pale and her lips were now purple.

I fearfully shake my head. I swallowed deeply, my breaths getting shorter and deeper and I can't explain what I am feeling right now.

"I can't let her die! I have so many things I wanted to do with her! Show her! I can't - no!" I can't stop myself anymore, the anger and the fear of losing her "Please, Mother do something! Help her!"

Then my father walk up to me and also kneeled beside me.

"If you want to save her son, you have to do one thing." He sternly said.

I look at him and desperately ask him "What should I do? I will do anything! Everything just to save her!"

He breathed deeply before speaking and seriously look at me "I know this would not be good to do it to her, for you both need to be one to do this but for her condition, I know she will understand."

"Just tell it to me, father! Before it's too late! What is it?"

"You have to mark her now."
