6. ROOT OF EVERYTHING

Skadi palace

Light footsteps could be heard in hallways of the palace, a young girl within the age of 8 appeared in front of a huge double door, the guards in front of the door immediately open the door for her to go in, and the young girl was queen Erica's first daughter, first princess Anaya Rashford.

She went straight to the queen's chamber, on getting there, she bow to her mother, "how are you mother"

Queen Erica who was busy getting dressed with the help of her maids respond to her "i am fine dear and how are you doing today my beautiful daughter "

"I'm fine mother, mother I had reyka went missing, mother will father be able to find her?"

Queen Erica smirk, she responded "yes my dear daughter it seems like your dear sister is tired of staying in the palace where she doesn't belong to and has decided to return to where she originally belongs"

"And where is that mother?" princess Anaya asked, confused about what her mother was talking about

"In the forest with the wild animals" she Chuckled and so did her maids

"and I doubt your father will be able to bring her home"

though she was very sure the man she hired, did his job well because he was the best in the business but she was a little bit worried has he didn't report back to her. 'Did he flee after doing the job or did they capture him, no that's not possible, so where was he now. She gave a specific instructions' thought queen Erica.

Flashback

In a secluded arcade, queen Erica and her personal head maid stood with a man in his late 40s, two of her trusted guards stood few meters away from them, making sure there wasn't any threat around.

"My guards will give you entry into the palace, my maids will direct you to the second princess chamber, so get the second princess, take her to the forest and then finish her off, throw her body into the nyx vil forest for wild animals to feast on, is that clear?" An evil glint pass through her eyes.

The man bow has he responded" yes your highness"

"And report back to me once the job is done"

"Ok your highness, I will do a flawless job"

"Good" she nodded to her maid

Who threw a bag of gold to the man, the man immediately bow "thank you very much your highness I won't fail you"

"You better not"The man immediately left the place

Queen Erica signed, her maid said "don't worry your highness he will deliver a good job and the brat will forever leave you and your families lives".

"I hope so" Queen Erica replied with a distant look,

she was hurt when she heard her husband had a mistress outside, whom he never brought to the palace, nobody knew who she was and as if that wasn't enough he suddenly brought a child to the palace saying she was his child and the child was the root of everything.

It was common for a king to have more than one wife, concubines and children from different women

but Queen Erica doesn't like sharing anything that belongs to her, no woman would like sharing her husband, that's why one of the arrangements for their marriage was that he won't marry another wife aside from her, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have mistresses.

Which king Edward agree to and everything was going fine still he brought his bastard child to the palace, he started giving little attention to she and her daughter and was giving most of his attention to his second daughter. She couldn't take it, she even tried getting pregnant again thinking maybe if she had a male child he will pay more attention to them but she still ended up giving birth to another female child which didn't change any thing, the king still doted more on his second daughter.

The Queen signed 'hopeful things will go back to the way were before she came into their lives'

But little did she know her actions will only make things worse.

Coming back to the present

Queen Erica smiled at her daughter, she said to her daughter "don't worry after today you and Lillan will have your father all to yourselves".

Princess Anaya eyes brighten "well in that case mother I hope she doesn't come back here"

"Come let's go have some tea in garden"

As the Queen and her daughter walked in hallway leading to the garden, a guard came to them and bow "greets your highness I am here to inform you that the king has arrived"

The Queen turn to her daughter and smiled "well it's looks like he couldn't find his precious daughter, come let's go welcome your father."

On getting to the entrance of the palace Queen Erica got the shock of her life.
