2 Arnoux

"You know I cant do that," the creature spoke calmly, "they will never allow it". I looked into those silver eyes and felt so defeated I just slumped over and stared at Arnoux with hollow eyes. He morphed back into his human form and I shied away as he offered his hand to me.

"Take it" he said sternly and I grasped his hand tightly, his skin was rough but warm. I felt an involuntary shiver go up my spine as I realised I was only wearing a thin nightgown. Seeing this he pulled me towards him and held me against his chest.

I blushed a deep red and tried to pull away, "you'll freeze if you don't" he said and I couldn't fault him. We stood there for a few minutes awkwardly until he finally said "I'd better be getting you back now, the elder will be wondering where you've got to".

I felt numb as we walked back to the village, I didnt want to stay here! I wanted to leave! Be free! ...But I couldn't the elders wouldn't allow it. They said I wouldn't survive out there that I would be hunted...

I guess they're right who wouldn't hunt a witch?
