Do Not Take A Step

Charlotte's POV

To my surprise, he wasn't offended by my words at all, and I wonder why that is, even worse, he smiled sheepishly at me. I don't know what to say to him while stating my vows to him.

Should I just make up words whether stupid or senseless and say, to avoid keeping them in suspense, just as I was about to open my mouth to say something, his annoying voice jolted my speech.

"Charlotte, dear, you are delaying the ceremony." Jasper whispered amidst smiles. I can see how he's trying to lessen the awkwardness of the situation.

"You asked if I will be submissive and obedient to you, right?" I suddenly asked him, totally forgetting the fact that I had to state my vows to him as well.

"Yes, I did, Charlotte, this is not what you should be talking about…" He was saying with gritted teeth, but I didn't want to hear whatever he was saying right now, so I was left with no other option other than to interrupt him.

"Jasper, will you pledge to be obedient and submissive to me as well?Because I think that's how it should be done.

If I obey and submit to you, then you will do the same to me."I asked him in a low voice which no one could hear except for him.

If he wants my obedience and submission, he should also give me the same.

A broad smile appeared on his lips instead of an answer.

"Did I crack a joke?" I asked, obviously pissed at the sight his teeth.But before he could give me an answer, the mouthpiece of the moon goddess interrupted him.

"Please make your vow."She requested.

"Please move to the next thing to do, she already said her vow to me in a whisper, trust me it's not meant for your ears." Jasper said to lighten the mood, but anyone who looks at my face currently will definitely see the exact meaning of his words.

"Now that the final stage is here, I will love to tell the both of you a critical thing which is" The mouthpiece of the moon goddess from my pack started, but then paused for a second while scrutinizing our faces before she continued.

"You have the right to renounce your partner as your mate now.

You can reject your mate right now before we proceed because there will be great consequences in the future."

I looked at Jasper and was about to say something, but then my father's face came to view right at that instant.

His deadly glare wasn't what stopped my speech, but the pleading eyes of my mom.

I looked at the woman who just made that comment before saying;

"I would rather not reject him."

"Neither do I."Jasper smiled yet again while giving his answer.

The crowd cheered for us with a standing ovation, even the drummers began to beat their drums loudly in happiness. She raised a per-knife which I didn't notice she was holding till now.

"Stretch forth your hand." She said to me,I looked in my mom's direction again before doing what I was asked to do.

She made a deep cut on my wrist and blood began to ooze out of the cut. She held my hand and raised it up towards Jasper and he threw closer and licked the dripping blood. I tried yanking off my hand from him but I couldn't.

After a while he left my hand,I realized the wound had already closed up. The same process was repeated but this time it was Jasper's turn. I was asked to do the same,I almost threw up at the taste of his blood.

"With the power bestowed on us by the moon goddess, we pronounce the both of you husband and wife, mates of each other." The two mouthpieces of the moon goddess said in unison as though they memorized the speech.

There was a more cheerful standing ovation and I turned my head to see my father smiling from ear to ear. I didn't fail to notice my mom wiping off a cloud of tears on her eyes, which were threatening to drip down her cheeks.

All of a sudden, I felt a strong arm wrap around my waist,I turned back and looked at Jasper with furrowed eyebrows. He pulled me closer to his body before he whispered.

"I will definitely obey you in bed."

Jasper's POV

I knew that Charlotte would ask that question to me, knowing her type of woman she definitely will expect me to do the exact same thing for her if she follows my lead, so her question didn't surprise me at all.

When I noticed that her attention was directed to something else, I used that opportunity to look at the fierce lady standing right in front of me, she's not any Lady but my mate, mine. Oh, those thoughts again!

Well,I will definitely be all hers in bed.

I felt the need to suck on those blunt pinkish lips of hers and without wasting any other time, I obliged to my urges.I brushed my lips against hers while wrapping my hands around her waist, as I savored the sweet taste of her lips.

Not only that, but I felt sparks erupt from our skin, which drew me even closer to her. But suddenly, she pushed me hard and stared at me disdainfully with anger and hatred in her eyes, but I bet that for a moment, she almost gave in to the kiss, but I guess that it's the mate bond at work.

"How dare you?" That wasn't a question because what followed it next almost surprised me only if I didn't expect it.

'Slap'

It was really hard, very painful.

The whole crowd gasped in shock, but she didn't mind that at all.

"Oh my love, what happened?" I asked her with a smirk on my face, putting on an expressionless face as though I weren't the one she just slapped.

"What does that stupid question of yours mean?Who on earth gave you the right to kiss me?"She inquired with total seriousness, not at all having the slightest glint of joke on.

"You are my bride, why won't I kiss you."As I spoke, I made my way towards her still wearing a smile, I have to quit this public drama she's putting on.

"And what are you trying to do?

Trust me when I say that I don't mind fighting with you right here at our mating ceremony."Her voice alone was clearly giving me a straight warning, but then her eyes did more to add to it.I slipped my hands around her body and carried her in a bridal style.

"I want to carry my bride to a cool environment, she needs to calm her nerves."

But as I attempted to walk out of the Ceremonial altar, I had a loud voice.

"Don't take a step."
