Violet forgot all about her conversation with Jack as soon as she heard what Dave said.

She was aware that Gwen could be planning to build the wall again, and that Arden could also be gathering an army to try to come back.

But now it felt more real somehow.

“What evidence do they have to be spreading this?” Jack asked. “Did something different happen?”

Dave shrugged his shoulders.

“I'm not really sure. They said that people from inside the palace are saying that Gwen is talking with some men about how she could build the wall again without causing too much pressure from the people.”

“Well, that I’d also like to know.” Jack ragged.

“She seemed to be very determined to do it, but the council is trying to persuade her to change her mind. They could face another riot, especially from their own people.”

“Why would she want to build that again?” Violet asked. “I didn’t think she liked that wall at all. Now she wants to raise it again?”
