the castle behind the gates

Chapter four

Gray eyes stared widely back at me, only eyes and lips were spared, but everything else were concealed by the mask.

Hair was styled beautifully up with little bangs touching my forehead.

The evening gown hugged the curves in every way like their measurements were taken.

Staring back at me is a woman looking as ordinary as ever, just like everyone else in the room, stunning. A woman I have never known in my life.

While in the car I couldn't help but think back and also be nervous.

With my transformation, Davina made Christie and Agatha apologize to me which they finally did which I didn't care about but they did do it. It left me dumbfounded and speechless.

Was I really looking very different now?

Yes I was, everyone was staring at me cause with my ugly face out of the way, the focus of everyone were on my figure and eyes which couldn't let me stop blushing.

This evening was turning out better than I expected it to but and I can't help but feel excited and a bit nervous.

I'm nervous because today has to be the day I see my mate, he has to see me like this. I can't wear a mask any other time so today has to be it and if today actually is the day then I'm toast.

I absolutely do not know what to say!

"I know what you're thinking, I can read your mind." Davina suddenly spoke up.

"What?"

"Don't worry about that sweetie, I'll make sure you mingle right." She winked and I blushed.

She did know what was in my head, I'm wearing a mask but I'm curious to know if she sees me blushing.

"You can't act boring okay." She warned and I chuckled.

"I'm not boring." I defended. I was a little more than little giddy. I was feeling too happy like I am intoxicated.

"Hmm right." She came slower. "I'm telling you this not to make you upset but you got to know. You're a kill joy okay."

I laughed then nodded.

"Wow, you're very happy right now aren't you." She asked with an amused face.

I blushed slightly for being caught again.

I nodded slightly then waited for her to speak again.

But she remain silent for a while looking straight ahead before turning to me again.

"Babe, be you. I'm not going to advise you to be anything else. If he's your mate then he'll love everything about you." She said again after the pause.

"But you said it yourself, I'm boring and a kill joy." I complained.

"You're a kill joy that's for sure but I said don't be boring, I didn't say you are boring." She explained.

"And the difference is?"

"It's that you might be nervous and not know what to say but if you let yourself go then you'll see you're fun to be with whether you know it or not."

I nodded but still skeptical. No one has actually liked me except for her. Maybe she's right?

Finally we got to the venue which was the palace and my mouth dropped opened.

"Wow..." I heard everyone say in union with me.

"I've never been here before." I unconsciously said.

"Neither has anyone of has dummy." Christie responded but this time jokingly like we were all getting along.

I smile inwardly.

These occurrences keep giving me more confidence.

'you can actually start conversation with people freely today Rachel.' I told myself and I don't know how that's possible but I got even more happier.

We got out and we stared at the castle behind the huge opened gates.
