Chapter 9

"Yes you can, but make sure to be back in one minute, you don't want the alpha searching for you."

Fanny said, giving her a stern face.

"OK ma'am"

Sharriah said, her voice not quivering, to avoid been suspected.

As she left the tent, she saw two guards stationed not too far away from the tent, then she saw the alpha's tent, she did not know where her friend must have been kept, she walked slowly, avoiding making any sound that will attract the guards, as she walked, her leg mistakenly matched on some pieces of dry leave, the noise attracted the attention of one of the guard, who was not too far away from where she stood, the guard turned around, searching for who was trespassing the tent by this time of the night.

"Who is that?"

The guard yelled, she stopped moving at his words, holding her breath, her eyes met a rat, which was not to far away from her leg, trying to munch the edible part of her leg, she picked it up and then throwing it towards where the dry grasses are, the rat moved around the grass and the noise of the grasses removed the guard's attention from her as he moved to where the rat is, immediately she saw the man leaving, she tip toed towards the end of the tent, she saw four guards stationed at each side, she knew if she tried running towards the forest, the four guards will see her, as she turned back to leave, trying to look for another way..........but her breath was taken away when she saw her best friend Envaline, walking side by side with that man who bought her.

Quickly, she hid beside the huge tree, which covered her, Envaline wore a fine piece of clothing and a fine leather sandals.

She looked different, neat and healthy while she Sharriah looked like a slave, she looked dirty with that same clothes she wore in the establishment, which showcased more that of her been a slave.

Tears wailed up in her eyes, her chest concealed in pain, she decided to leave the tent without Envaline, she seemed happy and she was happy her friend had found joy.

She heard the voice of a man, ordering two of the men to leave their duty station.

'Good, this is a perfect time to escape.'

She thought, leaving the tree, she saw the two remaining guards stationed at the front of the camp, Picking a stone, she threw it at the other tree, and these diverted the attention of the guards as they watched the tree, using that opportunity, she ran so quickly, running for her freedom, as she ran the thoughts of those previous slaves who were killed because they needed freedom caused fear to roam through out her body, but yet not relenting she ran, as she ran, she felt something whimpering in her and she heard a voice which whispered to her.

"Running away from mate...."

"Running away from mate..."

"Not good..."

"Not good..."

She didn't know what that meant, but still it never stopped her from running so quickly, she was now out of the tent, but she continued running, she couldn't take the chance of her master catching up with her, she didn't watched where she was running into and quickly, her barefoot made a sharp contact with a nail, the pain sliced through her flesh in a rush, she slowed down, knowing that they could find her with her blood which had been splattered on the ground, so she stopped running, walking under the tree, she must have covered one hundred and fifty meters away from her master's tent.

She sat down, luckily for her, she saw a Calendula flower on the tree, she remembered this flowers were used to heal her wounds when she was little, as she squeezed the juice on her wound, she clutched her cloth in pain, tightening her lips, trying to prevent her from screaming, she rested for some minutes, standing up, the Calendula already reduced the pain, she dashed out from the tree, as she ran, she took the road to the north, she did not know where she was and knowing it was the time of the night, she kept running, her heart skipping whenever she hears the sound of moving or birds singing, realizing how far she ran, she settled her self on another tree.

She was quite thirsty, she must have been running for thirty minutes because she felt so tired and weak, as she rested, closing her eyes, she heard whispers, she opened her eyes immediately, looking around frantically, but she couldn't find any one, then she heard another voice, she instantly became alert, this time, her senses weren't deceiving her, she stood up hiding at the back of a tree, she could see four people standing in the space, not too far away from her, it was night time, but the cloaks they wore were darker than night itself, they whispered, she couldn't hear them, so she used her werewolf hearing ability, to find out what they were discussing.

"The vampire king sent you this, we are trying to take over the Ithaki Land, any creature that have a connection with the werewolves are our enemies, but we need your help...."

A man said, Sharriah couldn't see the face of the man, but she surely heard every words he said.

"And what do you want from the witches..."

A woman said, her voice was sweet, to kind to even hurt an ant, but sometimes sweetness are the real poison, she thought... remembering the words of the warden when she was In the establishment....

"We need your help to break the magic guarding the Ithaki Land, we can pass through their land, but we can't attack them, because it will backfire on us."

She heard another man said, his voice sounding different from the first man who talked.

"And what will you offer us if we help you uninstall their magic."

Again, she heard the voice of the first witch.

"The king promised you and your kinds freedom, freedom to roam around freely, without being killed by the werewolves..."

The first man said.

"And how will I believe that, the vampire king can change his mind so easily.."

The second lady asked, this was the first time the witch was talking.

"Take this paper, it is signed with the King's blood, we will be leaving to the Pack tomorrow morning."

The first man said, handing her a paper, which probably is a deed of promise.....

"I heard the alpha king bought a slave for himself, likewise your king, I don't know what your kinds needs those low creatures for, even though I hate the alpha king, I know he wouldn't want a slave, he do kill her in half day..."

The first witch said, sounding too bitter she must have distaste her master so much.....

"Well, the vampire king must have sucked all blood in his own slave, she must have been dead by now, if not dead already, but will soon be dead, a slave is too low for my king to mate with...."

The second man said, protecting the vampire King's pride, but the witches knew he was lying, Bethel is a devil and a devil can do what so ever pleased them.

"Your king is worse than a whore, he can mate with a slave, anything with a feminine reproductive system.."

The second witch said, at her words, the first man hissed with anger, his canines grew, but his colleague tapped him as he seemed like he was gonna break loose, the witches insulted their king, but they can't attack them. Unless they want their agreement to be canceled automatically and also risking war with the witches.

"Someone is here.."

One of the witches said, looking around, trying to know who had been listening to their conversations. At the witch words, Sharriah went, hiding at the second tree which was well hidden in the forest,

"No one dares listen to our conversations, plus our conversation Is well protected, no one can listen to us, or see us..."

The second witch said, persuading her sister.

"More over, this is night period, there might be squirrels and other animals roaming about."

The second witch said again.

"OK, when we make our final decision, we will let you know."

The witches said.

"Good, we will be leaving to our camp then."

The vampires said, the witches walked towards the other end of the forest and the vampires walked towards the opposite end the witches followed.

Sharriah heaved, Margret could be in troubles, and now realizing who Margret was sold to, which was the vampire king, her heart almost stopped breathing, and now not knowing what the vampire king must have done to Margret, if she was alive or not, but still she had to follow the vampires to save her friend, whether dead or alive and now was the opportunity to follow the vampires to their hide out.

A guard came into the tent, bowing down his head,

"There is a problem supreme alpha."

The guard said, still bowing down his head.

Aiden raised up his head from the map he was going through as he watched the guard, trembling in fear.

"Speak."

He commanded him, and at the King's command, he spoke.

"The slave you bought escaped..."

The guard blurted out.

'What rubbish, the guard was indeed talking insane.'

Aiden thought.

"What did you just say."

Aiden said, standing up, he walked towards the guard, the guard was scared of making any movement, so remained still.

"My supreme alpha, she tricked the head maid and she escaped, the entire guards went in search for her and she couldn't be found."

The guard said, he was angry he just find out that his slave managed to escape so soon, if he knew, he would have put more guards around her or maybe even a chain on her legs but he will do that next time and make sure to deal with her.

"Go prepare the warriors for attack in the vampires tent.."

He said, walking out from his tent.
