Your own good

The guards rushed to her.

"My lady, are you alright?" They asked. One of them helped her to stand on her feet.

She shook as she tried to explain what she had saw, "There was... was... Someone, he... he..." She stuttered, unable to get her words straight.

"Someone you say?" One of them said looking around.

Elena had heard her screams and came out, "What is the matter? What happened here?" She asked.

Nyx was shaking terribly. Elena walked up to her, "What happened to you? Why are you this shaky?" She held Nyx's shoulders.

Nyx couldn't say anything, she rested her head on her shoulder, still in shock.

"Please Nyx, tell me, what happened to you?"

"Yes my Lady, we need to know what happened so we can act on it immediately." A guard spoke up.

Elena led her inside and made her sit on the chair, she handed her a glass of water, "Here, take it."

Nyx gulped it down, she sighed and dropped the glass on a table.

"Are you okay now?" Elena asked.

"Yes, I am fine now." Nyx nodded.

Elena sat beside her, caressing her hair, "You have to tell me, what is wrong? Why did you scream so loud?"

"There was this strange werewolf I saw.. he had approached me." She exhaled deeply.

"Strange werewolf? What did he say?"

"He had told me to leave..." She paused, the implications of her statement could hit the queen hard and probably hurt her.

"To leave what?" She asked.

"He did not tell me to leave... that was a mistake, he told me to be conscious of a danger that was approaching." She gulped.

"Danger? What danger?" Curiosity had engulfed her.

Nyx hung her head, "I am not sure, before he could say anything else, I got so scared and screamed for help."

Elena nodded, "I hope you are okay now? Please do not go out at night anymore, you are sader within the walls of the palace." She gently caressed her head.

Nyx nodded, "Yes, mother."

"Now, go and have some rest." She said and stood up, leaving her there. The guards bowed and left also.

Nyx heart throbbed, "Why would he want me to leave Oberon? He said it was for my own good." She creased her brows.

She exhaled and stood up heading to her room, the event still playing in her head.

She woke up the next morning to find an angry Oberon pacing forth and back the room. She sat up on the bed.

"Good... morning Oberon." She gulped.

He faced her, "What happened last night?" He ignored her greetings.

She sighed, "I do not know, he just said I should beware of a lurking danger." She lied.

He frowned, "A stranger tells you to be alert because of a lurking danger? Who is that wolf?" He thundered.

She shook, she had never seen him this angry before, "I do not know where he came from or who he is." She replied.

He held his head feeling frustrated, "So a wolf just barges into my palace and the guards could not even stop him?!" He yelled.

"I do not think the guards are to blame for this. I was unaware of his presence myself till he flashed past me." She tried defending the guards.

He bit his lips, all he could feel was rage, nothing but rage. An unknown wolf had just barged into the palace claiming of a lurking danger and he had no idea of what he had even said.

He walked towards her, "What exactly did he say to you?" He arched his brow.

She gulped. She didn't really want to say what the werewolf had told her yesterday, it might cause a friction between them.

"I- have told you what he already said, he told me to be alert of danger." She held her breath.

He leaned in , his face close to hers, "I do not know why, but something tells me that you are not telling me the truth." He said huskily.

Her heart began to pound in her chest, should she tell him the truth?

She gulped, "I- have already said the truth." Her heart skipped a beat, she knew she was lying bad.

He shook his head, "I am not satisfied with your answer, why are you suddenly shaky?"

Was she really shaky? She looked at her hands and noticed she was trembling.

"Maybe, I am cold." She bit her lips.

"Maybe?" He creased his brows.

She nodded.

He was about to say something when s knock interrupted him. He raised his head, "Who is that?"

"It is Mark, my Lord." He replied.

Oberon looked at Nyx one last time, and headed to the door. He opened it.

"Yes Mark? What news do you have today?"

"A note was found outside your study my Lord, it talks about some very strange things I can not quite say. We still do not know who had put it there."

Oberon was perplexed, "What were the guards doing? How did the stranger get in?"

"The guards kept their watch, everywhere was properly guarded, it is still a mystery as to how this note got in."

"Let's go there, let me see what the the note says." He followed him out.

Nyx gulped, she stood up and went towards the bathroom to have a bath, that morning was already so tensed.

She opened the door and a note fell off the handle, she hesitated for a while, "What is this now?" She picked it up nervousness slowly creeping in.

She read it, 'Oberon does not mean well for you, leave now before you get broken.' It was written in blood.

Her hands shook, she looked around, "How did this get in here?"

She was so scared and didn't take her bath anymore, she sent for Gladys and Yvonne, and they came as soon as they heard the queen needed them.

They had to stay with her that whole day since she was too scared to do anything on her own.
