In that sparse millisecond the strange question left the man's lips, Ryley could feel his heart stopped beating for a while. 

A crippling sense gnawed at his heart, as if he was forced to balance a double-bladed dagger with a finger.

Ryley loathed this kind of feeling a lot, it's like he had to bet with his heart but he couldn't do anything other than calmly nodding his head and stretching his lips into a big smile. "Of course."

Though he was lost in the man's secretive gaze, Ryley managed to mask his feelings well. 

Crazy, he must've gone crazy.

He still wanted to trust Clyde even if he couldn't shake his doubt about the Alpha's stance in his problem with Gracia Clark.

"Wait, you haven't told me yet." Ryley suddenly said, "If you're not the owner of this place then who? How is it that you're allowed to come here? I mean, have you asked permission from the real owner?" 

"Why are you so curious?" Clyde returned the blond's question.
