Chapter 50: The True Alpha

After the Lunar Eclipse, Waverly stopped seeing the shadow man. Instead of in her dreams, he now appeared to her in real-life, in the form of her mate, Sawyer Einar. Except every now and then, she would still sketch the mysterious figure, who began more as a silhouette and now, resembled a darkened, black mass.

Waverly sat in the chair by the window, just as she had done when she arrived at Trinity Mountains over seven months ago, only now, she was in the art room that Sawyer had commissioned for her. Her reflection bounced off the glass standing between her the town below, which was exploding with wolves and people alike. She focused on her sketch, which was unlike anything she had drawn before—the mass was the same in shape and size, but in the centre, she had traced two eyes that blended with the colour of the form they shared, as well as stood out, like they were staring back at her.

The opening of the door startled her, and Waverly jumped slightly in her spot.
