24 24| Meet Your Luna

Silver Lycan blood dripped down my palm and into the ceremonial bowl, mixing with his. A flash of shock passed through Zak's eyes.

Alpha Enya gasped, as she was the only one apart from us and the priest who could see the color of my blood. I looked at it in bewilderment. I was sure that I had cast a spell to conceal the color of my blood.

I remembered that Zak made the potion effects disappear a while ago.

'Did my spell get broken along with the potion effects? Damn it! Just how powerful is this dude?'

I looked at Zak in the eye, only to receive an icy glare. I smiled awkwardly as if nothing was wrong, and I totally did not just lie about my species to him. The priest didn't understand the situation that was unfolding and went on with his speech that went in one ear and came out the other.

'Oh, Cerne, help me out of this mess. I promise to be a good Lycan from now on,' I prayed in my mind.

"Don't even think about lying your way out," Zak hissed under his breath, just loud enough for me to hear. I nodded slightly as the priest gave his final words and let us get away. Zak immediately held my hand in his and teleported us to somewhere else.

I could only imagine the chaos Alpha Enya would have to deal with after our abrupt departure, but I had my own problems to deal with. We landed in his room in the Wolfsbane Mansion. Zak let go of my hand, crossed his arms and looked at me with eyes that were hard to decipher.

"Mind telling me why you are going around masquerading as an Omega, Lycan?" He asked, getting straight to the point.

I decided not to lie to him about this.

"Because I'm just as weak as one. I can cast a few spells and my blood is silver, but that's about it. I told you, I'm broken." What I said was true. I was indeed a faulty Lycan now, and my body was full of flaws.

Zak's face softened a bit at that.

"Why did you not tell me?"

"I just met you today. I need time. I never expected it to be revealed like this," I admitted.

He fell deep into thought, pacing around the room. I looked at Mika, who was sleeping in the center of the bed. Oh, how I wished I could be that cat… He stopped right before me, and took my hand, which had not completely healed yet.

Zak frowned.

"How come the rate of your healing is lower than the average shifter? It's almost as bad as a mage," he muttered as he summoned a tiny bottle of something green in mid air and poured it on my wound.

I hissed at the sudden slight pain as the cut made a sizzling sound and healed instantly. I looked at my palm in wonder. He must have used a high-class healing potion.

"Any other secrets that I should be aware of before we leave?" Zak asked, curiosity and slight anger evident in his eyes.

'Yeah, I had a friendly match with your beta Superior when I was fourteen, got beaten up by your current Beta Superior Ryker, and nearly got killed in a duel after with the Lycan Prince, and lost almost all of my powers and lifespan because of a curse he inflicted on me.'

Hmm, that didn't sound so good, did it? So I remained silent.

"I will pry the answers out of your mouth someday. We have all the time in the world, after all," he said with a smirk. I glared at him.

"When are we leaving?"

"As soon as we have a proper conversation with your former Alpha, we will get going."

"I don't need to be there when the 'conversation' takes place, do I?" I asked doubtfully. I figured that whatever was going to happen was not going to be peaceful.

"Oh, you don't need to be there. But having you present will certainly make things interesting." An evil glint passed through his eyes. Hmm, did he want to rile up Jared and Alpha Wilbur with me? Well, I didn't really care.

"Okay," I agreed.

A knock sounded on the door of the room, startling me. Zak went over to open the door, revealing three extremely surprised men. Ryker rushed in first, followed by Darren and Daniel.

"Alpha, I heard that you took a mate! Please don't tell me it's that brat from earli-" Ryker's words stopped short as he saw me. I folded my arms and tapped my feet on the floor.

"Go on, continue to insult your soon to be Luna Superior," I said, sarcasm dripping from my voice. Mika woke up that instant, striding over to me and let out a snarl at the Beta Superior, then climbed up onto me and into my arms.

Zak arched an eyebrow at me.

"You sure weren't keen on that idea a while ago," he said.

"Now I am," I snapped. How dare that beta I didn't like one bit call me a brat? Zak shook his head at me.

Ryker gulped. Daniel smirked as if he had expected it, and Darren patted Ryker's back, consoling him.

"Alpha, is this for real? How can she be a Luna? Why?" Ryker panicked. Zak rubbed his face tiredly.

"Respect her Ryker. If you don't, I'm placing all authority to handle you in her hands. She is your Luna now," he said.

Daniel smiled victoriously at Ryker's defeated look. Darren shook his head at both of them.

"I greet the Luna Superior," Darren gave his greeting to me by bowing, showing that he accepted me as his Luna. I felt a bit guilty about it, but nodded at him. Daniel followed him and bowed, while Ryker reluctantly mumbled his greetings.

'Ah, this guy, how did I lose to him that day? I want to punch him again.' My fists clenched on their own at Ryker's behavior. Zak noticed it, too.

"You can punch him all you want, but be sure to keep the pack healer at hand," Zak remarked.

"For Ryker?" I asked. He looked at me like I had wronged him.

"For your hands, of course. You are too weak."

…Now I wanted to punch Zak. I patted Mika to comfort myself. Mika patted me back with his cute paw. All four men in the room looked at Mika curiously. Daniel reached his hand towards my cat, only to be snarled at. He took his hand away, his ears drooping.
