The Alpha's Assasin

Emerson Mae was never treated quite right. Always pushed to her limits but never considered enough for her pack. She was left on the doorstep of an Alpha and Luna as a baby. Not knowing where she came from the Alpha automatically gave her the position of Omega. Everyone laughed at her, picked on her, and thought little to nothing of her. Until she turned 16, then everyone feared her. She discovered that she was not only a werewolf but a witch as well, making her more powerful than the rest of her pack. Therefore she was banned, the Alpha fearing his bloodline would no longer hold the title of Alpha. She did her best to survive on her own and ended up becoming an assassin. But what happens when she takes a job requiring her to take down the most powerful Alpha there is?

Chapter 5 - Naziah Michael Kingston

I woke up dazed and confused. There was a bright light shining down from above me, and a rhythmic high pitched beeping that would not stop. I peeled my eyes open, my vision slightly hazy and I was very confused. Where was I, why was everything white, why was I in different clothes?

All of these questions and more rushed through my mind as I realised where I was. It was a hospital, but not like ones that I had seen before. It felt off, there was only one bed, there was a counter with a sink and cabinets, above it, no curtains and only a single door lined with windows as a way out. And an incessant beeping sound.

There were tubes, wires and needles stuck to me and in me. I hastily started taking them off, first the sticky ones attached to my chest, then the small clamp on my finger and then I ripped the IV out of my hand. As each one left my body the beeping got louder and louder soon becoming one straight pitch instead of the previous separation.

I was struggling to think, I needed fresh air. I slid off the bed and my body buckled from the pain of my leg. I was confused, it should've healed by now, the wolfsbane must've been stronger than I thought. I mustered as much strength as I could and stood back up, momentarily gripping to bed for assistance. I stumbled my way over to the door but right as I was about to turn the handle it was ripped open.

There he was, the man I saw in the forest.

I was going to die.

I stumbled backwards from the shock of seeing him, at least this time he had clothes on. He continued to step forward as I scrambled towards the far corner. My vision was still blurry and I couldn't register his face. In fact most of my senses weren't working and my fight or flight kicked in.

My back hit the wall and I could still see his figure approaching. When he got close enough I attempted to kick him but he caught my leg and gripped it harshly. I hadn't realised I'd attacked with my right leg until he squeezed my calf and I let out a yelp of pain.

He jerked back sharply, then continued to come closer. My breathing quickened as he picked me up, one arm under my knees and the other under my shoulder. He was encouraging me to rest my head on his shoulder but I did quite the opposite.

"Let go... please." I breathily cried out. It was quite pathetic but I started to struggle away from his grasp and he nearly dropped me on the floor. He then readjusted his grip tighter as I continued to try and get away from him. He set me back down on the bed and I suddenly felt cold and deprived. His touch was warm and tingly, and something deep inside me told me that I needed more of it.

For the first time I realised that there was someone else in the room with us. He was tall but not quite as tall as the other man. From what I could register he was wearing all white and was approaching me with what appeared to be a gas mask. I tried to sink farther into the bed to get away as he approached me but it was futile. The mask was pressed over my nose and mouth and everything started to get very dark.

I woke up again, this time everything was clear, all my senses were working and I no longer had a headache. I noticed that someone had hooked me back up to all the machines. I reached to take the IV out of my arm but a voice coming from my left stopped me.

"I wouldn't do that of I were you darling." He mused. I snapped my head in his direction and I can only guess that I look like a deer caught in the headlights. He let out a light chuckle as he uncrossed his legs and leaned forward. I instinctively leaned back fearful that he was going to try and grab me again.

"What am I doing here?" I asked, noticing for the first time that my voice was hoarse from dehydration.

"You were halfway dead when I found you. Where did you expect you would be?" He asked, almost as if this was the obvious outcome of ne trying to kill him.

"Dead. Or in a cell." I deadpanned in response and I nearly regretted letting the words slip from my mouth. His eyes became dark almost black and he let out a low growl.

"No darling, not you. And since neither of those will be happening why don't you tell me a bit about yourself, hmm?" The first part came out venomous as if I had sinned for suggesting I pay for my actions.

I stayed quiet my eyes locked with his in a silent battle. I knew that he could demand information and I knew that he could do whatever he wanted to get it out of me. He was the Alpha, and I was on his land.

"Well since you want start I will. My name-"

"Is Naziah Michael Kingston. You are 23 years old turning 24 on December 31st. You are approximately six feet tall and 180 pounds. You are the Alpha of the Lunar pack and you have no siblings." I quickly stated for him. I had briefly read his file before taking on the job so that I could get an idea of what I was up against. He looked at me the entire time not expecting me to know all of this previously. He let a small smile slip and then opened his mouth to speak.

"Excellent little one," I snarled at the nickname, "but you missed one thing." He stated matter o factly. Obviously yes there were things that I missed but nothing worth mentioning.

"You belong to me darling. You are my mate." The words dripped with pride as they exited his mouth. While I was plunged into confusion as I felt my stomach drop.

"No." I uttered, the only word that would come out of my mouth. Only werewolves had mates and I was a half breed, and a rogue I couldn't be mated with an alpha it was impossible. But most of all I didn't want a mate, especially an alpha, I heard horrible stories of what they would do to make their mates submit to them.

I saw him open his mouth to speak but I was quicker.

"I want a trial!" I blurted out, my voice slightly wavering from the anxiety building up in me. Naziah's eyebrows knitted together as a confused expression crossed his face.

"Excuse me?" He asked, in disbelief.

"I tried to kill you, your people will want a trial. I will most likely lose the trial and be hung for crimes against your pack. Premeditated murder, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon-"

"Stop!" He cut me off. His eyes were extremely dark and his tone dangerous. I knew that I should look away, bow my head in submission but I couldn't. It was as if his gaze held me there with unbreakable chains.

"There will be no trial, there will be no jail time, and there will be no hanging!" He firmly stated his voice growing to almost a yell by the end. His fists were clenched and his knuckles were white. Every visible muscle was tense, as if he was trying to hold himself back.

"You will become my Luna and rule the pack by my side, no arguments." Naziah bluntly voiced as if his word was law. Although I guess it was here. But his words would not control me, I would never let them.

"I will never rule beside you." I said faintly but with passion. Before he realised what was happening the words were already escaping my lips.

"I Emerson Mae, reject you Naziah Michael Kingston, Alpha of the Lunar pack, as my mate." I finished but felt no pain no strange sensation. As far as I knew it was supposed to hurt, you were supposed to feel as if a part of you was lost.

I looked up at Naziah and his eyes were dark, his hands clenched tighter than before. He looked murderous and I was scared. Then he let his face fall, he dropped his head and let out a low chuckle.

"You don't know your full name." He laughed, and let out a relieved sigh. My heart sank, of course I knew my full name. I wasn't given a last name at birth so I only had my first and middle name.

"Leaving out the pack made sense since your a rogue, but you don't know your full name! Thank the godess!" He was beyond elated. As if he wanted me. He could have anyone. A strong, handsome, powerful Alpha, why couldn't he reject me and find a new mate? One that would be beneficial to the pack? Then I had an idea.

"Marry me!" I said a little too excited and clasped a hand over my mouth shocked by my own outburst. His eyes flickered with knowing and he chuckled. His laugh sent goosebumps down my spine, making me shiver from arousal. It went against every instinct in my body, although if my wolf was present she would only be encouraging me.

"So you can reject me? No I don't think so darling. Emerson, I'll make you fall in love with me then I'll ask you to marry me." My jaw tightened and my stomach clenched at his words. I shouldn't have given him my name, although my heart fluttered at how easily my name rolled off his tongue. But I knew he would use it to his advantage.

"How could I ever love a monster?" I asked solemnly, meeting his eyes again.

"I'm sure you'll learn, darling." He replied, my stomach dropping at his words. We sat in silence for a few minutes. I kept my eyes focused on my hands playing with my fingernails. Though the entire time I could feel his pressing gaze on me, my skin heating up at the thought of what was going through his head.

It was the first instinct for male werewolves to bed their mate as soon as they found them. Their smell stays with the female until she allows him to mark her, he does this by biting into her neck witch results in a permanent unique mark to form. The female could also mark the male, but this was a less common practice.

As time ticked on I became more and more nervous. My stomach churned from the anxiety and rising tension. I eventually got enough courage to ask about a doctor. I was in a hospital shouldn't I be seeing one?

"When will the doctor be here?" I asked trying not to expose my rising anxiety.

"Soon. But not till I'm done with you." Naziah replied cynically. I whipped my head around to meet his gaze and the temperature dropped. I let out a breathy gasp, and his eyes darkened.
